Story
Rosie is 9 years old, and she's only had 2 owners. She loves attention! She is protective of her home, and can be guarded, so it may take a few visits for her to warm up to you. Once she does, she'll never leave your side! Since she is so large, she does have some arthritis in her back legs, and doesn't like using steep steps. She's also very "in tune" to your emotions, and will give you a hug if you're feeling sad. Please contact me if you'd like to meet this beautiful girl 🙂

Story
Meet Ladybug—affectionately known as Bug—a soulful 3-year-old Rottweiler with a heart as big as her adorably boxy nose. Her journey hasn’t been the easiest, but that’s exactly what makes her story so special.Bug came to us as a transfer. Something about her quiet presence and gentle eyes made us want to give her more—more time, more care, and more love. So we brought her to MCAC to give her just that. At first, she was a little unsure of the world around her, keeping her feelings tucked safely inside. But with patience, kindness, and a lot of heart, Bug has started to blossom into the loving, affectionate girl we knew she could be.Once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll discover her sweetest secret: she’s a kiss-giver for life. The kind of dog who bonds deeply, who looks at you like you’re her whole world, and who will quietly lean into you just to be close. Those moments feel earned—and they’re worth everything.Ladybug is considered a special adoption, meaning she’s looking for someone with prior Rottweiler experience who understands her breed and is willing to go at her pace. Meet-and-greets will be by appointment only and extended to approved adopters. We strongly encourage multiple visits so she has the chance to get comfortable and build that all-important connection—just like she has with us.She’s up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives, already spayed, and currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. Because of this, she will be placed in a foster-to-adopt home so we can help guide her through the remainder of her care. This includes two scheduled injections and about 30 days of follow-up medication—we’ll be with you every step of the way.Bug has shown positive interactions with other dogs so far, but while she continues healing, we believe she’ll thrive best in a calm, quiet home. She’s looking for adopters who are thoughtful and intentional about her exercise and enrichment—someone who understands that love means more than just opening the back door. Her adoption fee is $150—but what she’ll give in return is truly priceless. If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who will meet you there with quiet devotion, soft kisses, and a love that grows deeper every day, come meet Ladybug.Just be warned—you might not leave without her.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $150

Story
Friendly, affectionate 4-year-old Rottweiler looking for a loving home. She is very people-oriented and enjoys being close to her owners whether playing or relaxing. She has a sweet, gentle temperament, is not much of a barker, and is fully house trained. She thrives on routine and does well in a structured environment. She loves to play and still has some playful, puppy-like energy, so she would do best with an owner who can give her regular exercise and attention. She is currently working on leash manners and can sometimes pull on walks, but responds well to guidance and consistency. She can be a little anxious during grooming, but does well overall—groomers and kennel staff love her. She also enjoys playing with other dogs in those settings, as she is the only pet at home. Her favorite treats include biscuits, apples, and boiled eggs. She would make a loyal, loving, and fun companion for the right home. Our son got her from a breeder for us when she was 4 months old.

Story
Meet Bubba Jay 🐾 At 10 years young, Bubba Jay is the definition of a gentle, loyal companion with just the right amount of personality. This sweet senior boy is looking for a cozy home where he can relax, feel safe, and be your devoted sidekick. Bubba already has his manners down—he knows “sit,” “down,” and even “shake”! He does well on a leash, is comfortable in a crate, and might just surprise you by hopping right into the bath like it’s no big deal. He’s an easygoing guy who enjoys a good game of tug-of-war or simply carrying his favorite toys around (don’t worry—he’s very respectful and doesn’t destroy them). True to his nickname, Bubba Jay is a big baby at heart. Once he settles into a home, he becomes incredibly loyal and protective—your built-in security system with a loving twist. Because of this, he may be a little unsure around some larger men at first, but with patience and proper introductions, he can build trust. He did great at the vet and seems like he could live with other animals, especially calm, laid-back companions. He’s not overly playful with other dogs, so a chill household would suit him best. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key best friend who will love you endlessly and keep you safe, Bubba Jay might just be your perfect match. 💛 ✨ Neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped Bundle of love included at no extra charge!

Story
ay hello to our chunky monkeys! Two sisters we're hoping to keep together to find a new home. Family had some medical emergencies and sadly had to surrender both. they do rough house, so no small kids. Were owned by an older couple and had some husky friends to play with too. Bonded pair, they do get jealous of each other. One is harder of hearing and other one is protective and helps guide her. PUREBRED rots, Big blocky heads and bodies. Would LOVE to find someone who is familiar with the breed. Houstrained too, they were used to underground fencing.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Roscoe, one of two new residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Roscoe is a smaller Rottweiler Mix, he’s about one year of age, he has a beautiful, multicolored coat, and he weighs just 36 pounds. He is slightly shy at first but this handsome boy enjoys meeting new people and other nice dogs. Roscoe enjoys engaging with people in the outdoor play yard and he’s a ball-fetcher extraordinaire.  He really likes playing ball and he’d keep going for hours if given the chance. Roscoe had his vaccinations on 1/20/26 and he tested negative for Heart Worm on 4/12/26. We have him started on heart worm prevention and flea/tick meds. Roscoe has already been neutered so he’s ready to find his forever family and have a great summer full of exploration.  If you would like to meet Roscoe, please submit an adoption application under his name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
