Cody is 5, DOB 10-19-18 we got him from the Amish farms, Keystone puppies. He is a sweet, well mannered dog. He loves blankets and cuddles. He gets along with everyone and ignores those who "bother him". He is a simple dog and well trained. He needs a home with or without another dog but more importantly someone who adores and loves dogs. He will go for a run, walk or lay around. He's the perfect pet for the perfect home.

Story
Name:  Buffalo  Breed: Rottweiler/ Boxer Mix   Age: 3 years old  Sex: Male Weight: 110 lbsWeight should be kept around here so he can maintain his body weight and live a beneficial life.  Medical Needs: On hip and joint supplements. Basically used as a preventive and to help keep him healthy and strong!  Housebroken: Yes, he will let you know when he wants to go out or will wait till you decide to go out! He has not gone in my house since being here!  Crate Trained: Yes! If you leave the house and put him in the crate he settles quickly. If you put him in the crate and you’re in the house he will bark until you return. He’s in your pocket type of dog but just larger!  Buffalo does enjoy being in his cage throughout the day. He has meals in there and that is HIS preference he goes sprinting in there soon as the food hits the bowl. Buffalo uses the crate as safe space sometimes so highly recommend having a cage. Good in the car: Yes, he tends to just look out the window and enjoy the ride. I typically put him on my third row seats laid down with a dog bed and he just loves taking it all in. Good on Leash: Yes, he is great on the leash! He does not pull. He loves to stop and have a good sniff on his walks!  Energy Level: low/ mediumI will say he much more on the low end of energy level. He loves laying down and relaxing and hanging out with you! He does love walks we are currently do about 10 minute walks just to rebuild some muscle he is currently lacking. Sometimes he does have his medium moment a of energy where he does his fast zoomies in the back yard.  Need fenced yard: No, he tends to stay by your side but if he does see someone he will just give his warning bark and move on. Dog Friendly: Yes, he’s been around a chihuahua, shepherd, and mix pup. With him I like to give him a good slow introduction to new dogs. Only because he will typically be twice the size of a normal dog and they are typically intimidated.  If yes, does he need another dog in the home:No he does not need another dog in the house but I also don’t think he would mind.  Cat Friendly: In the beginning he was very much into the game of cat and the mouse game. We have started working on training him to “leaving it” when the cat makes a fast move. He has improved drastically since being here you just have to stay on top of him. As of today he can walk past the cats without interest in them. He generally is more curious than anything. Kid Friendly: Yes, he is very much a family dog. No age restriction just supervision per any dog.   If yes, what age: newborn to 3 year old.  In his previous home he had two children siblings under the age of 2. I had my friend bring her kid over and he just fell in love. He watched her every move and he was so gentle to her. She was nervous in the beginning due to his size but she soon fell in love herself. She put stickers on him and he did not have a care in the world he was just happy to be receiving attention!  Special traits that others should know about your foster: Buffalo has had a journey of his own.  When you meet Buffalo you will soon understand why his name is Buffalo. He is a whopping 110 lbs of kindness and love to give. Buffalo basically wants to be your side kick and is always ready to go. Unless he has had a super busy day you will find him slumbering!  He spends his days chomping on bones which is favorite this to do. To hanging out with his pup friends. Buffalo enjoys long naps that come along with lots of pets and belly rubs. We currently do 3 walks a day for about 10 minutes. His body currently is not the strongest for what his height and weight are. So we keep the walks simple but enjoyable. I let him take his longs sniffs at every spot just because I know that means everything to him!  Buffalo just keeps me guessing he has the biggest heart of gold that just keeps you in awe. He is very much food driven and very easy to train. When it comes to treats he is a gentle giant. Sometimes he may get carried away but if you correct him he will listen. One thing about Buffalo is soon as he finds out where the treat area is that will soon be his favorite spot.  Buffalo will be one of my hardest goodbyes but I’m so happy he will find his future forever home that he truly wants and deserves!  Fosters location: Camden, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your application. ##1744983##
