One of her favorite things is simply being close to you, happily sitting at your feet for pets and soaking up all the attention she can get. Lacey already knows her basic cues like “sit,” “paw,” and “down,” showing off both her intelligence and her eagerness to connect with her people. She’s the kind of dog who thrives on companionship and will be a deeply loyal presence in the right home. Because of her personality and needs, Lacey would do best as the only pet in the household and is open to meeting children over the age of 10. She will also thrive in a home with Rottweiler or guardian breed experience to ensure she continues to be supported and understood. She arrived emaciated, but even after everything she’s been through, she is still incredibly sweet, outgoing, and happy to see people. And she loves her food! After going without enough to eat, it’s understandable that Rylee wants to protect her meals around other dogs. She can live with dogs, but she’ll need to be fed separately so she can feel safe and enjoy her food. So far, she has shown no food guarding toward people. Now Rylee needs the care she should have had all along: nourishing meals, time to regain weight, and someone who will help her feel secure and loved.
