Story
I have a Rottweiler/St Bernard mix named Rusty, that unfortunately needs to rehomed. He is my daughter's dog and she moving to Nevada and cannot take him with her. Unfortunately I can not keep him as my own dog is extremely jealous. Rusty does not look anything like a St. Bernard. He needs a strong handler. He is housebroken and knows to sit, lay down and give his paw. Kennel will be provided to new owner. He is not completely leash broken as he still pulls a little. He needs lots of attention and is very affectionate. Its probably best for him to be the only dog in the household. He is UTD on vaccinations & intact. 1 yr + 4 months old

Story
Hey friends, my name is Sylvia, and I am a 5-year-old Lab/Boxer mix looking for a forever home. I came to Stray Haven through the sheriff's office after my owner had passed away, and I had nowhere else to go. The staff quickly made me feel comfortable, and I showed them that I am such a sweet girl. Despite my age, I am still a playful girl, but I am always willing to settle down for a nap. If you are interested in meeting me, I will be waiting to meet you too!Notes from a volunteer after spending time with Sylvia:"DOG DATE THURSDAY. Today's date is a little bit of a sad story. Sylvia is a boxer lab mix who was brought to Stray Haven after her owner passed away unexpectedly. She was found by the sheriff's department when they were called to investigate. Sylvia is thought to be approximately 5 years old and in good health, other than being thin. She also appears to have some skin issues, probably from flea dermatitis. Once she catches up on some regular feedings and flea management, she will be in her glory. Sylvia is a very sweet girl who loves her treats. She knows sit and paw and is very gentle walking on a leash. She also really loves riding in a car and is a great backseat passenger. Sylvia enjoyed walks and visiting at Home Central and Hair Designs in Owego. She can be a tad shy at first, but warms up very quickly. You can meet Sylvia by visiting the shelter during open hours of Tuesday-Friday, 10-5, and Saturday and Sunday, 10-4.If you meet Sylvia, tell her Marcia sent you."
