Story
My name is Koda and I am four years old. I appear to be a rottweiler mix, but the staff isn't 100% certain about that.I have come a long way since I first arrived here. I lived in a less-than-desirable situation before the Stray Haven team rescued me. I was nervous and scared of everything. The staff worked to restore me to good health, and I feel so much better. After receiving lots of love and excellent care I am ready for a new home. I still experience some nervousness but I'm learning to trust people and the world around me. Because of this, I would do best in a home with older children. I need people who are patient and understanding and who can help me continue to gain confidence and feel safe. I haven't seen much of the outside world yet, but I'm ready to find a loving family to show me how good life can be.Stop by Stray Haven; I could be the one you've been waiting for.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
We could all learn a little bit from Nezuko about resilience, trust and new beginnings. She's overcome a lot in her short 3 years, including having puppies, living in a home with 40+ other animals, and then suffering complications after her spay surgery. We're so happy and proud of her for overcoming all that and showing us her true, wonderful self. She's healthy, happy and will make someone a beautiful best friend. Nez, a Rottweiler mix, is still a little wary when she first meets someone new. She's good-natured, curious and vocal at times, but she's just saying hello! She gets a little excited on the leash but walks well overall. She's choosy about dog friends and requests and meet and greet with any potential canine siblings. Cats wouldn't be a great fit. She lived with kids in her previous home and we were told her adored them. Nez is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. If you looked up the word “goober” in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Remi. 💖 This 70lbs year-old Rottie/German Shepherd puppy is such a lovable goof! There isn’t room enough to list all of the wonderful qualities he has. Remi is currently living with TEN other pups of all sizes and doing great. He’s doing well with the horses and is good with cats, though he does like to try to play with them. Remi is good off leash with excellent recall and is learning not to jump when he gets excited, but prepare yourself for some kisses if your face is within reach. 😘 Remi is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is a typical puppy who needs a playmate and daily activity, but we wouldn’t call him higher energy than any regular puppy of his age. Whoever welcomes this boy into their home is SO lucky! Story
Bella was born October 2020. We have had her since December 2020. We received her after we had lost our 13 year old Rottweiler to old age. As a family we were pretty shaken up. My wife’s mother gifted her to us as a “surprise”. Although a thoughtful gift, we were not planning on getting another large breed dog. Needless to say we have had her for quite a while and have really tried to keep her, but unfortunately we are way to busy to give her what she needs. Not to mention she deserves someone who will be around more often than my wife and I can.
