Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Abby is a stunning Rottweiler that is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 65lbs.  After a rough start in life, she is now searching for her forever home.  Abby was never socialized properly prior to finding her way into  Best Friend Pet Adoption.  She has since been through an intensive 8 week positive training program and did very well. Feedback from her training program is that Abby is loyal, loving, and eager to please. She is very food and treat motivated. She loves to work for her food!  Abby enjoys her nosework training to enrich her life.   Abby is now being fostered by an experienced dog person who has continued to work with her training and confidence.  She is crate trained, leash trained and house broken.  She needs a fenced yard and ideally some additional walks during the day. She has been crated for up to 4 hours.    Abby is currently living successfully with two male Rotties with low energy.  She will not do well with high energy dogs and   would do best as an only dog with an experienced, responsible owner.  Having previous experience with Rottie's would be beneficial.  Abby would not do well in a home with cats or with a first time dog owner.  When around new people, Abby prefers to be ignored and then will approach and engage with them.   Abby has lived with kids and would be ok with older children 12+ that are able to respect boundaries. Could your home be the right fit for Abby?   She has come a long way from her miserable life before Best Friend Pet Adoption saved her.  Could you provide a wonderful life for Abby?  She will give you plenty of love in return.  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Abby and her 6 puppies were surrendered to a rural shelter in August 2023 when the puppies were only 4 weeks old. Animal control did a welfare check and found Abby living outside in a pen with a huge sore around her neck from an embedded collar. One of our volunteers wanted to help immediately and agreed to foster Abby and her puppies. The puppies have all been adopted and now it is Abby's turn to fine a wonderful home.     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    Applicants ideally should  live no further than one hour from Cary NC.  For the right match for Abby, we will consider applicants who live further away if they are willing to travel to Cary to meet her.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ABBY? Story
Amara is a 3 year old Rotty mix who is just the sweetest with people. She can be reactive to other dogs if she does not have the time to get to know them. She is crate trained and house trained as well as knows basic obedience. She loves being outside and unfortunately she has been dealing with issues with her joints and I do not have the funds to even take her to get diagnosed. I suspect either ACL injury or hip dysplasia. You must be able to provide her with this care to be an adopter. This is not an easy surgery financially or on the dog.

Story
We adopted Millie as a puppy from a Rottweiler breeder in North Carolina. She is a purebred with papers and is just over two years old. While she responds well to commands, Millie is a high-energy dog with general anxiety. We tried medication to ease her anxiety, but without success. Over the past two years, we've worked to acclimate her to our home, but she continues to be restless and on edge. We have done obedience training, and she performs well: she walks on a leash, sits, lays down, shakes, and waits for food on command. She is incredibly sweet and does not have a mean bone in her body and is a true lover. Millie is great with our 9-year-old daughter and gets along with our three cats. However, we have reached a point where trying to find balance with her has become exhausting. Her constant energy is overwhelming, and it is impacting our family life. We are hoping to expand our family, but the stress has made it difficult to focus on that.

Story
BRANDI is ready for her forever home! She is about 72LBs, sweet and friendly once she warms up and feels comfortable. She is selective with dogs and prefers male dogs. We think she would do best in a home with just one adult or with a couple. Brandi is a great dog, but needs some training and exercise, and a safe place to call her own. Decompression time and a routine is really going to help this girl shine. She will make a great companion for someone with Rottie experience. Brandi is a 3 year old with a docked tail. ADOPTION DETAILS: Each dog is spayed, neutered, (unless medically on hold) up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped. ** At this time, due to the size of our rescue, adoptions are limited to NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA and +/-6 hours from Raleigh, NC. ADOPTION FEE: Our total adoption fee is $300, including a non-refundable $25 application fee. Fee can be paid using the "DONATE" button on our website (www.RottweilerHeartsRescue.org) - please indicate in the notes that it is for an application fee, and the intended dog. If you have any questions, please email our adoption coordinator at Rottiehearts@gmail.com!
