She was separated from her puppies far too early, which led to severe mastitis and complications that required surgery while she was still in New Mexico. Despite everything she endured, Dorothy never lost her gentle spirit. She was transported to Utah with her babies, and her pups went to another foster. It’s finally Dorothy’s turn for a furever home. Meet our very special boy, Dexter! This sweetie is a big lover. Dexter enjoys playing in the yard, long walks in the park, car rides, ice cream cones, and snuggling on the sofa. Dexter takes a minute to get to know you, but then he's your best friend. This guy would make a perfect jogging partner or hiking buddy. Dexter gets along with other dogs with a proper introduction. He is a bit rough and tumble with his playing, so he would need a patient doggy friend. Dexter has been raised around cats and leaves them alone. Dexter can be a bit stand-offish with strangers and needs to be slowly introduced. We strongly encourage adopters to attend a Begining Training Class to help guide them through teaching their pup to be a calm, confident, well-mannered dog. We offer a rebate of $50 on the adoption fee upon completion of a training class. Dexter is going to make some lucky person very happy!
