Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I’m Kirky and I’m a little quirky in all the best ways. I’m a male rotti/german shepherd mix. I’m about 5 months old so everything is new to me. My foster family has showered me with love and has helped me come out of my shell. I still get nervous in new situations as any young pup would.  I’m such a fast learner it doesn’t take much for me to master whatever you want me to learn. I’ve already came a really long way in crate training and potty training in the time I’ve been with my foster family. My foster mom has already taught me some commands, too. I have mastered sit and lay down. We are currently working on come, place, and stay. I’m great with other dogs, people, I especially love kids, and I haven’t even chased my foster mom’s chickens, so I'd probably be fine with cats, too! I love walking and hiking. I walk really well on leash and off leash with my foster brothers and sisters, 4 legs or two it doesn’t matter to me.  I can’t wait to meet you! Story
Hi, I'm Chucky! I'm a 1-year-old Rottweiler who might seem a little unsure when I'm taking in a new situation, but give me a little time and you'll discover that I'm really just a big softie looking for a friend. Once I start to feel comfortable, I love staying close to my people, leaning in for affection, and soaking up all the attention I can get. I'm the kind of guy who likes to check in with my humans and make sure we're in this together. My name is Chucky, but I promise the only thing I'm guilty of is stealing hearts and occasionally forgetting to slow down when snacks are involved. I'd much rather cuddle in your lap than star in a scary movie! With patience, encouragement, and plenty of positive experiences, I'm ready to grow into a confident, loyal companion who will stick by your side through all of life's adventures.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 78 Age: 1yrs 4mths 2wks

Hi, I'm Briar! Just like the woodland plant, I might seem a little guarded at first, but underneath I'm a sweet girl ready to bloom. I'm a 4-month-old, 28lb Rottweiler mix who's friendly but still gaining confidence in new places and with new people. A calm home filled with patience and encouragement will help me come out of my shell. Story
Charlotte is a beautiful senior girl with a gentle soul and so much love left to give. Believed to be between 8 and 10 years old, this sweet reservation dog has lived a difficult life, but she hasn't let that diminish her incredible capacity to love. While we aren't sure of Charlotte's breed, she certainly has the striking looks of a Rottweiler mix. More importantly, she has the kind of loyal heart that makes once-in-a-lifetime companions.Charlotte is house-trained, crate-trained, and happiest when she's right by her person's side. She's the definition of a velcro dog—if you're home, she'll be with you. She'll happily follow you from room to room, patiently wait outside the door while you're busy, and be ready to curl up beside you the moment you sit down. Charlotte does have some mobility issues affecting her back legs, but she has responded wonderfully to consistent pain medication and continues to enjoy life. She will likely need pain medication for the rest of her life to keep her comfortable. Because of her mobility limitations, Charlotte is looking for a home that can accommodate her needs. She must have a home with no stairs—a couple of steps to get in and out of the house are manageable, but a full flight of stairs is not. A securely fenced backyard is also important, as long walks can be difficult for her.Charlotte gets along well with submissive dogs but would not be a good fit with another dominant personality. She would also do best in a home without cats. More than anything, she's looking for a calm, peaceful home where she can spend her days soaking up love and returning it tenfold.Charlotte may be entering her senior years, but she still has so much to offer. Her soulful eyes have a way of melting hearts, and her quiet devotion is something truly special. She isn't looking for grand adventures—she's looking for someone to love completely, someone who will cherish her through her golden years just as faithfully as she'll cherish them.If you're searching for a loyal best friend who will be happiest simply by your side, Charlotte is waiting to meet you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100.
