Story
Hi, I'm Huckleberry, but you can call me Huck! I'm a 10-month-old Rottweiler weighing 50 pounds of pure puppy fun.I'm smart, affectionate, active, and I already know some basic commands. I walk well on leash, love treats, enjoy other dogs, and I'm always ready to learn something new.I'm still young, so I'm working on my training and figuring out this whole "being a responsible adult" thing. Personally, I think snacks should count as extra credit. Come meet me-I'm Huckleberry, and I'm pretty sure I'm the best 50-pound package you'll open all day! *Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 50.2 Age: 0yrs 10mths 1wks

Story
Nona is ready to find her people! At just a year and a half old, Nona has already come a long way. She’s matured and mellowed quite a bit recently and has become much easier to live with. She’s an incredibly social, people-friendly dog who genuinely seems to believe that strangers are just friends she hasn’t met yet. The good stuff: House-trained Crate-trained Good with cats Does well with most dogs Has successfully lived with young children LOVES people Great in the car, both crated and loose Comfortable being out and about — Petco is a favorite! Currently living with 8 other dogs Nona has previously lived with young children and did well. More recently, she spent time with my niece and nephews, ages 6 years, 4 years, and 8 months, and was wonderful with them. With other dogs, Wynona generally does well, but she isn't necessarily the right match for every dog. She can become overly intense when another dog is highly aroused or intense. For example, when one of my very high-energy Border Collies gets amped up and starts zooming around, Wynona may intensely stalk him. She has not attempted to hurt him and is relatively easy to redirect. She has also been involved in a couple of scuffles with two of my dogs. One involved food; the trigger for the other wasn't clear. Because of that, thoughtful introductions and appropriate management with other dogs will be important. Nonas biggest challenge is resource guarding. I want to be completely transparent about this so her future family knows exactly what she needs. Thankfully, her resource guarding has been very manageable in her current environment. She is fed in her crate, doesn't have free access to food, and is crated when high-value treats, chews, or toys are given. A future adopter will need to be comfortable continuing these simple management practices rather than testing or pushing her boundaries around resources. Overall, Wynona is a goofy, social Rottie who adores people and has matured tremendously. She needs a home that appreciates everything wonderful about her while also understanding that responsible management around food and other high-value resources is part of the package. She isn't being advertised as a dog who is perfect in every situation. She's being advertised as the dog she actually is — a very people-friendly, crate-trained, house-trained young Rottweiler who can live successfully with other animals and children when given appropriate structure and management. If you're looking for a young Rottie with a huge love for people and you're comfortable providing the structure she needs, Wynona may be your girl. Story
Hi, I'm Chucky! I'm a 1-year-old Rottweiler who might seem a little unsure when I'm taking in a new situation, but give me a little time and you'll discover that I'm really just a big softie looking for a friend. Once I start to feel comfortable, I love staying close to my people, leaning in for affection, and soaking up all the attention I can get. I'm the kind of guy who likes to check in with my humans and make sure we're in this together. My name is Chucky, but I promise the only thing I'm guilty of is stealing hearts and occasionally forgetting to slow down when snacks are involved. I'd much rather cuddle in your lap than star in a scary movie! With patience, encouragement, and plenty of positive experiences, I'm ready to grow into a confident, loyal companion who will stick by your side through all of life's adventures.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 78 Age: 1yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Charlotte is a beautiful senior girl with a gentle soul and so much love left to give. Believed to be between 8 and 10 years old, this sweet reservation dog has lived a difficult life, but she hasn't let that diminish her incredible capacity to love. While we aren't sure of Charlotte's breed, she certainly has the striking looks of a Rottweiler mix. More importantly, she has the kind of loyal heart that makes once-in-a-lifetime companions.Charlotte is house-trained, crate-trained, and happiest when she's right by her person's side. She's the definition of a velcro dog—if you're home, she'll be with you. She'll happily follow you from room to room, patiently wait outside the door while you're busy, and be ready to curl up beside you the moment you sit down. Charlotte does have some mobility issues affecting her back legs, but she has responded wonderfully to consistent pain medication and continues to enjoy life. She will likely need pain medication for the rest of her life to keep her comfortable. Because of her mobility limitations, Charlotte is looking for a home that can accommodate her needs. She must have a home with no stairs—a couple of steps to get in and out of the house are manageable, but a full flight of stairs is not. A securely fenced backyard is also important, as long walks can be difficult for her.Charlotte gets along well with submissive dogs but would not be a good fit with another dominant personality. She would also do best in a home without cats. More than anything, she's looking for a calm, peaceful home where she can spend her days soaking up love and returning it tenfold.Charlotte may be entering her senior years, but she still has so much to offer. Her soulful eyes have a way of melting hearts, and her quiet devotion is something truly special. She isn't looking for grand adventures—she's looking for someone to love completely, someone who will cherish her through her golden years just as faithfully as she'll cherish them.If you're searching for a loyal best friend who will be happiest simply by your side, Charlotte is waiting to meet you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100.
