Story
Meet Thor! This handsome 3-year-old Rottie/Shepherd mix is a big boy with an even bigger personality! Weighing in around 70Â㫣 pounds, Thor is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, crate trained, and house trained. Thor is a sweet, smart, and very independent guy who loves going on walks and absolutely loves the water! He is also an escape artist, so his future family will need to keep a close eye on him anytime he is outside. Thor should never be left outside unattended because he is always looking for his next great adventure! Thor has a very high prey drive and needs to be the only animal in the home. He would benefit from continued training to help him learn boundaries and improve his leash manners. Thor is said to be good with kids, but he doesn't always realize just how big he is! Because of his size and enthusiasm, we would want the entire family to come meet him to make sure everyone feels comfortable and is a good fit. Thor does have chronic ear issues due to previous infections and damage, so his adopter should be prepared to continue managing his ears and keeping up with his ongoing needs. If you're looking for a smart, sweet, independent adventure buddy who loves walks, water, and being with his people, Thor may be your guy! Come meet Thor and see if he could be the perfect addition to your family!Interested in adopting? Meet Kai! If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will shower you with love, then Kai may be your perfect match! Kai is a beautiful 4-year-old Rottweiler who is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccines. She absolutely adores people of all ages and is a big, affectionate love bug who just wants to be with her humans. She already knows some basic commands, is house trained, and walks fairly well on a leash. One of her favorite things is heading out for walkies or stretching her legs while playing in the play yard. Whether it's exploring the outdoors or soaking up attention from her favorite people, Kai is happiest by your side. Kai does have a high prey drive, so she is looking for a home with absolutely no other animals. She wants to be the one and only pet, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. If you're looking for a devoted companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Kai is ready to fill your home with love. Could Kai be the missing piece to your family? Story
https://foha.org/pet/mason/ Hi there! I'm Mason! I certainly am an adorable Rottie mix who loves and plays hard. I am a pro when it comes to games of fetch. I'll perform all sorts of acrobats, even jumping in the air and twisting in every direction to catch a ball! I'm even learning to bring the balls back! I love car (or truck) rides. And I never met a trail that I did not want to explore. I meet everyone at my kennel with either a toy in my mouth or my food bowl. I am so happy to show them off to everyone. I have a full body wiggle when my favorite people are coming to get me out for a walk. I like other dogs with proper introductions. When I find a dog I like, I'll run & play until we're both dizzy with exhaustion. I'm a true "ladies man and would thrive in a home with another delightful female companion. I can be a bit shy at first, but then turn on that southern charm. I need an experienced owner and I need to be introduced to strangers slowly. But once I trust, I will enjoy cuddling in your lap. If you are willing and able to put the time into training me I will be sure to do my best to learn. Like most Rotties, I form strong bonds with those I love. I'm what they call a "diamond-in-the-ruff who will make a great life-long companion. I have been waiting a long time for my forever home. Loving, loyal, full of life. Come meet me!

Story
https://foha.org/pet/nutterbutter2026/ 🌟 Meet Nutter Butter! 🐾 ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Nutter Butter has already traveled farther than many of us! This sweet Rottweiler mix came to FOHA all the way from Mexico, and she even has her own passport to prove it. 🌎✈️🐾 Her journey began when she was found wandering along a dirt road with three other puppies in Pedro Escobedo, Querétaro. Eventually, Nutter Butter made the big trip to Virginia, and now there's just one destination left on her itinerary: a home of her own. For a puppy, Nutter Butter is surprisingly laid-back and well behaved. She walks beautifully on leash, is crate trained, and has a lovely, easygoing way about her. When she's somewhere new, she likes to take a moment to sniff, explore, and figure things out. Once she's satisfied with her investigation, though, she's ready to come in for love and affection. Of course, she is still a puppy! Nutter Butter can get mouthy when she's excited, and those puppy teeth can be sharper than she realizes. Thankfully, she's been easy to redirect onto a toy or with a treat. And speaking of treats... this girl LOVES food. That enthusiasm should come in handy as she continues learning all the important skills that go along with growing into a well-mannered adult dog. Sweet, affectionate, well traveled, and equipped with both a passport and an adorable name, Nutter Butter is ready for her next adventure. 🐕 HOW AM I WITH DOGS: I was originally found with three other puppies, but my friends at FOHA are still getting to know me and learning more about my preferences with other dogs. 🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS: Unknown — just ask my friends at FOHA about a cat test. 👶 HOW AM I WITH KIDS: Unknown. I'm still a puppy and can currently be mouthy during play, so my friends at FOHA can help determine whether I'd be a good match for your family. 🎓 I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: I'm still a puppy with plenty to learn, but I'm already showing some wonderful manners! I walk beautifully on leash and am very food motivated, which makes treats a great tool for continuing my training. I'm currently learning that toys are for putting my mouth on and people are not. Luckily, I'm easy to redirect when my puppy enthusiasm gets the better of me. 🏠 MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I'm crate trained! My full housebreaking history is still unknown. 💖 THINGS I LIKE: Treats • FOOD! • Love and affection • Exploring new places • Sniffing everything first • Toys • Walks • Taking a moment to check out my surroundings • Adding new stamps to my passport 😉 ⚠️ THINGS I'M WORKING ON: Puppy mouthiness • Continuing my basic training • Learning all the skills that come with growing up Nutter Butter started life wandering a dirt road in Mexico. Now she's crossed borders, earned herself a passport, and made it all the way to FOHA. For such a young dog, she's already had quite the journey. The only trip we're really excited about now is the one from FOHA to her forever home. 💛 📋 FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS: Click Here!(opens in new tab) 💰 ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet.

Story
Current Location: Westminster, MD Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
