Hi! My name is Poe and I am from Kentucky. From his foster : Poe is very curious and full of puppy energy. He likes to be the center of attention. He loves the outdoors. He is still working on his puppy listening skills, but getting smarter each day! He is still a puppy and learning during this "teething time". . He'd rather sniff around for yummy snacks than come when you call so definitely a great get to know me game will be treats and recall. He is working on potty training but will sometimes miss the pad. He sleeps well in a kennel big enough to host a bed and a pee pad. He is early to bed and early to rise. Update from a temp foster: He slept 8+ hours a night in his crate without a peep. He is still a puppy so will try to chew on things besides his toys but he understands a stern "no" and will stop pretty much right away. He loves to cuddle and will somersault into your lap when he's feeling playful. When he's tired, he'd love to curl up next to you. He loves to be outside and is pretty good on walks - he is still learning about the world and will plop his butt down and think hard about cars or runners going by. Anyone would be lucky to have him forever!

Story
Hi! I'm Casey. I'm from Minnesota. From his foster: Casey is a sweet, easygoing older gent who loves to snuggle and follow his person around the house. He gets along with other dogs, except maybe at mealtime, and is a happy sidekick to my older, dog savy kids (but would probably be fine with any kid who is gentle with him.) he's potty trained, but does better with a belly band if left for a stretch since he's older. He's happy and spry for his age, and appreciates but doesn't require walks. Casey does get anxious on car rides and gets very vocal, so he wouldn't be a happy sidekick for a traveler.

Story
Texas adoption only Bramble is the ultimate companion dog for your dog that you didn't know you need. He is a happy adult dog, 17# scruffy little terrier, who loves to cuddle & play with other dogs. He is also fine with the company of cats. Humans though, take longer to earn his trust due to Bramble's traumatic past. With patience & time, he will eventually come up to you for gentle head pets...as long as you don't look at him! He is enthusiastic about food, will take treats from your hand, likes routine. Although timid, he is NOT a biter. He even occasionally enjoys bathing & brushing. Bramble is so deserving of a safe & loving home with at least one doggie buddy. Is that home yours? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, wonderful souls! I'm Peter, your soon-to-be charming companion! I'm a very handsome Miniature Poodle, and I'm discovering the joys of comfort and love in my foster home. Each day brings me more confidence, and I'm eager to share my overflowing love with a special someone—maybe that's you! I am a bit timid, sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises still make me a bit uneasy. However, I'm getting better at facing these fears every day. When foster mom is still, I'm all about those loving pets and cuddles. But if she's on the move, I keep my distance—I even bolt if she walks toward me. I know commands like "outside" and "stop," and leash and potty training are still on my to-learn list. I'm 95% potty trained, especially with a consistent routine. A fenced yard is a must for my adventurous spirit. I'd love to have a canine companion to show me the ropes, help me 'dog' properly, and boost my confidence. We're working on some manners, and my foster pals are excellent teachers. Walking on a leash needs some practice, and a confident pal by my side would be perfect. Despite being easily startled and a bit hand-shy, I've found joy in playing with toys, furry friends, and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I'm all about giving kisses, nibbling fingers, and enjoying ear scratches. Zoomies are my specialty, especially in the fenced yard or on the stairs. I've got some manners to polish up, like waiting for my turn and distinguishing between toys and household items – hee hee! I really am a sweet boy who is simply looking for the patience, unconditional love, and security that I SO richly deserve from my own fur-ever family! I really hope that YOU will be my new family because my heart is overflowing with love that I want to share with someone very special! Love, Peter *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    I’m fairly new here but have been gaining confidence by the day!  As with most dogs, when I first meet someone, I’m a little shy and timid.  I’m really curious inside and want to be near so it’ll just need a bit of time to know that you’re a safe space for me.  I’ve been learning about trust and now I’m more apt to stay put than run, when approached.  Once I’m picked up I just melt right in for love.  That’ll likely be my personality all the time once I know you’re my people.  I’ve just started sleeping on my foster’s leg and inching my way up to hopefully a lap soon. In my spare time I enjoy eating and playing with other dogs.  I’m trying hard to follow along and go potty outside but as close as I am to getting the hang of it, I might need a little transition time to learn it at my forever home too. I do well in the kennel and am working on going inside on command.  Won’t that be a neat trick?! I do need a fenced yard in my forever home. When it is time to put on a leash and harness, I get worried. We are practicing how to stay put nicely to put on a harness without bolting.  HAHA  I’m tricky like that.  I haven’t really had any true leash walking experience so that’s something we can practice.  I do know the command for “stay” which is what I’m told when they want to wrangle me in the harness.  I have been snarky with some of the other dogs here when it comes to my food.  I have to tell them to buzz off, that it’s mine.  That seems to be all it is, as I’m not aggressive.  I can be an only dog too if you’d like. I’m just a sweetheart (so I’m told) and quiet overall.  I am still a little timid but not as much as I was when I first arrived.  I hope to find my forever home so I can have all the love I deserve. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.
Hey there, friends! I'm Miles, the sweetest Mini Poodle you'll ever meet, and I'm ready to be your loyal companion for life! I've got so much love to give, and I'm not shy about showing it! People are my absolute favorite, and I warm up to them faster than you can say "treat." When I'm happy, my whole body wags, especially my tail—it's a tail-wagging masterpiece! Toys are my jam! I can't get enough of them, and I might have a small collection going on. Sharing is caring, but when it comes to toys, I want them all to myself. I'm a real homebody who loves being around my favorite humans. I've been known to get a bit anxious when I can't see my people, but who can blame me? Separation anxiety is a thing for me, and I'm working on it. Give me a backyard, and I'm in doggy heaven! I love racing around, feeling the wind in my fur, and exploring all the exciting scents. And, let me tell you, I've got the zoomies down to an art form. When nature calls, I'm all about #1 in the grass. But for #2, I've got a specific mulched, private area in mind. A dog's gotta have some dignity, right? I've got big dreams of being the center of attention with one or two retired humans. I want to be part of all your adventures and soak up all the love you've got to give. Sleeping in a bed with my human? Sounds like heaven to me. I may have my quirks, but who doesn't? What I promise is a friendship that lasts a lifetime. Super chill, super sweet, and super smart—I'm the whole package! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.
