You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, wonderful souls! I'm Peter, your soon-to-be charming companion! I'm a very handsome Miniature Poodle, and I'm discovering the joys of comfort and love in my foster home. Each day brings me more confidence, and I'm eager to share my overflowing love with a special someone—maybe that's you! I am a bit timid, sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises still make me a bit uneasy. However, I'm getting better at facing these fears every day. When foster mom is still, I'm all about those loving pets and cuddles. But if she's on the move, I keep my distance—I even bolt if she walks toward me. I know commands like "outside" and "stop," and leash and potty training are still on my to-learn list. I'm 95% potty trained, especially with a consistent routine. A fenced yard is a must for my adventurous spirit. I'd love to have a canine companion to show me the ropes, help me 'dog' properly, and boost my confidence. We're working on some manners, and my foster pals are excellent teachers. Walking on a leash needs some practice, and a confident pal by my side would be perfect. Despite being easily startled and a bit hand-shy, I've found joy in playing with toys, furry friends, and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I'm all about giving kisses, nibbling fingers, and enjoying ear scratches. Zoomies are my specialty, especially in the fenced yard or on the stairs. I've got some manners to polish up, like waiting for my turn and distinguishing between toys and household items – hee hee! I really am a sweet boy who is simply looking for the patience, unconditional love, and security that I SO richly deserve from my own fur-ever family! I really hope that YOU will be my new family because my heart is overflowing with love that I want to share with someone very special! Love, Peter *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    I’m fairly new here but have been gaining confidence by the day!  As with most dogs, when I first meet someone, I’m a little shy and timid.  I’m really curious inside and want to be near so it’ll just need a bit of time to know that you’re a safe space for me.  I’ve been learning about trust and now I’m more apt to stay put than run, when approached.  Once I’m picked up I just melt right in for love.  That’ll likely be my personality all the time once I know you’re my people.  I’ve just started sleeping on my foster’s leg and inching my way up to hopefully a lap soon. In my spare time I enjoy eating and playing with other dogs.  I’m trying hard to follow along and go potty outside but as close as I am to getting the hang of it, I might need a little transition time to learn it at my forever home too. I do well in the kennel and am working on going inside on command.  Won’t that be a neat trick?! I do need a fenced yard in my forever home. When it is time to put on a leash and harness, I get worried. We are practicing how to stay put nicely to put on a harness without bolting.  HAHA  I’m tricky like that.  I haven’t really had any true leash walking experience so that’s something we can practice.  I do know the command for “stay” which is what I’m told when they want to wrangle me in the harness.  I have been snarky with some of the other dogs here when it comes to my food.  I have to tell them to buzz off, that it’s mine.  That seems to be all it is, as I’m not aggressive.  I can be an only dog too if you’d like. I’m just a sweetheart (so I’m told) and quiet overall.  I am still a little timid but not as much as I was when I first arrived.  I hope to find my forever home so I can have all the love I deserve. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      How do you do? Regina is my name, quite a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Now, it’s not like a lady to share her weight, but if I must, I’ll make the exception this one time. I am a 26 lb adult poodle, and while some other dogs are okay calling themselves a “good girl” I would say I am more of a refined lady. I mind my p’s and q’s, I wouldn’t dare cross your personal boundaries until I am invited to which I will gracefully accept your invitation. I will stand and give you a greeting hug and put my arms around you in a gentle fashion.        I am rather intelligent and am of the curious kind. If my senses are heightened by a delicious scent from the countertop, I must admit, I may explore but only when I know something is obtainable. Perhaps keeping delicious morsel treats a tad bit higher will keep my nosy nature at bay, which will likely lessen a counter surfing opportunity. Because of my intellect, I will remember where you keep treats, so, take note.        Despite my small frame, I move with elegance, like a graceful horse in stride. Though I have not been around children or felines, I am gentle and calm in spirit, so I do believe my patience will carry over if either were present in my new home. I do not mind other dogs of any size, but I love being with my person, a home without another canine could be ideal. I’m sure either will be quite alright.       I do prefer to be near my master, but will remain quietly poised in my kennel if that’s where you desire me at times, I also understand the command. While I often do not choose to speak, if prompted by another playmate, I may whine until the barking stops. Because I am a smart cookie, puzzle games are a great joy to me, along with treats and food being a delight as well.        I’m hoping my new home has a fenced yard, I don’t enjoy unnecessary sights and sounds, and an area that’s familiar would keep me in a gentler state of mind. I am working on potty training, I go outside, and I do use bathroom pads in the middle of the night, but I do need practice. I would think that with some extra attention in this area, maybe a schedule, I will likely pick up on cues in this area quickly. Perhaps allowing me to have free reign in the home when you are gone will have to be a reward that I must earn because of this reason, which is quite alright as I stated earlier, I don’t mind the kennel.       Well, look at the time, I must take my afternoon nap. Before I go, I will leave you with this thought to keep in mind. I promise to be loyal, loving and a caring companion for the human that is looking for a fellow gentle soul. Sending my warm regards.   *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hi there! I'm Blue Jay, a 7-month-old poodle weighing in at a charming 10 pounds. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm still a little hesitant when people approach me, and I'll probably run if you get too close too quickly. But if you sit down and give me a moment, I'll come to you because I love pets and snuggles. I'm getting better on a leash every day, and I really enjoy the company of other dogs. In my current home, the other dogs don't really like to play, so I'd love to have a furry friend who enjoys some fun and games as much as I do. My favorite activities include chasing the other dogs around the house and chewing on toys. I haven't quite figured out fetch yet, but we're working on it! When it comes to treats, I only eat them if they are put in my bowl—I'm a bit particular like that. Also, I'm not a fan of loud noises, and I found my first grooming session a bit scary, especially the dryer and the water. I'm still working on potty training, but I'm crate trained and comfortable in my crate. I don't need a fenced yard because I'm getting better on a leash and can go outside for potty breaks and exercise on a leash. We are also working on kennel training, I only whine a little and then I settle down. I’m still a puppy and learning! I'm coming out of my shell nicely and adapting quickly to my new routines. I'm smart, very handsome, and I know I'll make an awesome companion for someone special. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate, and smart little guy, I might just be the perfect fit for you! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi there! I'm Thorpedo, a two-year-old Miniature Poodle. I weigh a sturdy 14 pounds, and I'm full of love and curiosity and learning to be brave and confident. I might be a bit nervous around overwhelming commotion, but once I get comfortable, you'll see what a sweet little dude I am. I'm potty trained and do all my business outside. I also know my way around a crate and find it pretty cozy. I need a fenced yard because I'm not quite leash-trained yet and can get pretty scared of new things. They say I'm a bit of a "flight risk," but that's just because I'm still learning to trust the world around me. I know some obedience commands like "Kennel/Crate," "Outside," and "Go Potty." I'm good with dogs of all sizes and would love to have a furry friend in my new home. I only bark when I'm alarmed, so I'm pretty quiet most of the time. Once you earn my trust, our bond will grow stronger every day. I'm a perfect gentleman and make a great house dog. I love playing with toys and engaging in play with other dogs. I also enjoy hanging out on the couch and chewing on bones. Every day, my personality shines through a little more. Underneath my initial hesitation is a little guy who wants lots of love and attention. If you're patient and ready to give me the time I need to feel safe, I'll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello, my name is Frank, and I’m a spirited 14-year-old poodle in search of my forever home. I came into rescue with my sister, but to be honest, she can be a bit too much for me, so I'd prefer a space all to myself. I might be a senior, but don’t let my age fool you—I’m as sharp as a tack and full of life. My favorite pastimes include basking in the sun and enjoying delicious snacks. If you're looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to bring joy and warmth to your home, I'm your guy! Could you be the loving family I'm looking for?   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Story
Meet Waldo! Waldo is a miniature poodle and appx 15 lbs. we were told he is 1-2, but based on his teeth, we *think* he is 3-4, but could be younger and just not proper care. Waldo is VERY sweet and affectionate. He seems to love everyone he meets. He gets along well with other dogs but doesn’t really care for cats. Waldo’s love language is barking. He likes his voice, a lot. He is content by your side, but he lovessss to bark at everything that moves outside off leash. Waldo will be neutered before adoption, but right now he is not and he does mark. Once he is neutered, we hope it will decrease or even eliminate this behavior, but it’s something to be aware of. He is completely crate trained. He absolutely adores children and gets so excited to get attention. He did well for the groomer too. (He currently has some red staining on his fur from chewing/licking from being infested with fleas when we got him. His fur is coming in white behind it now that he has had treatment and will be a pure white poodle as it grows.) Waldo will be neutered, vaccinated, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention (one year ProHeart vaccine), dewormed, and microchipped with free lifetime registration.

Story
Hi! I’m Sheila, I'm 8 years old and done being a mama! I’m enjoying my new life in Minnesota learning to play and looking forward to retiring on a couch, eating treats, playing with my toys, and snuggling up with my people. I’ve been spending my days dancing around my foster home trying out ALL the toys and ALL the beds, sniffing ALL the smells in the backyard, and taking naps both inside and out. Things I’ve learned I love are attention, treats, attention, toys (especially squeaky ones), attention, breakfast and dinner, attention, and sitting in laps. And did I mention attention? Things I’m figuring out is pottying outside (I know to go outside, but usually go inside once a day just because i want to!), which things/plants are ok to chew (hint- phone charger cords are NOT ok), and sometimes other dogs (I want ALL your attention!) I play tug and chase with the right companion but they need to be ok with me being the boss. Things I’m not a fan of are storms and loud noises, strangers, and the super cold weather. I don’t know or care what cats are- boring! I’m poodly smart with a big personality and would love to learn more games and might benefit from working with a trainer to help me learn to share if I end up living with other dogs. I can get a little jealous and bossy!  I will let you know if it sounds like anyone is coming home so living in a place with shared walls won't work for me as all those noises make me anxious and our neighbors won't like me letting them all know!  I will also answer if I hear other dogs calling me, ignoring them would be rude! I don't really like the leash but love to go outside in my fenced in yard to go potty, so I will definitely need a fence!  Zoomies in the yard or chasing my people are enough exercise for me. What I want most in life is to snuggle my BFF and eat treats. Can you be that BFF? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $350.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2024, 2:35 pm

Hi, I'm Buddy! I am an 11 month old Mini Aussiedoodle on the hunt for my forever home.  I may be a bit shy when we first meet, but give me a moment and I'll be your loyal friend. I'm young, full of life and just need a bit of patience. I promise, I'm worth it. I love to play, but I also enjoy quiet moments. I'm not just looking for a home, I'm looking for a family, someone to share my love with. I promise to bring joy and happiness to your life. Will you be my forever friend? Adopting me means giving a second chance to a dog who's eager to love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2078498##

Bailey bee is the name, cause you know having two names for my foster mum to call is much better than one!! Luckily she only calls me by both names once or twice a day :) I am a sweet and loving girl, underneath my timid exterior. Not unlike lots of dogs and pups out here, I was never really well cared for or socialized, it's unfortunate but I have turned over that NEW LEAF and found the NECTAROUS FLOWER UNDERNEATH!! I am learning about living in a loving and happy home now and am learning things like potty outside, playing with toys and not being so mouthy (i just get so excited to have regular food/water and actual love and playtime!) I want nothing better than to have a family with other doggy siblings and maybe older people siblings too. Youngsters still make me a little nervous, just the higher activity level and hands in face stuff, but older kiddos with sensitivity to my timidity would be PERFECT! Speaking of Purring.... I will chase a cat, and my foster kitties run! So that has made me feel like they just want to play CATCH, lol, I never do catch them so that is good. I wish they would hang out with me, but I am ok with my foster doggy siblings anyway. I am just a sweet and loving girl who has a long life to love and be loved. I hope that is with you, and I AM WAITING!!! (somewhat impatiently because I AM a BUSY BEE!!!) Local adoption fee is $400. Out of state adoption fee is $600 (This includes transportation to your area. An additional $50 fuel surcharge is in effect at this time.)

Story
“LULU” is a friendly, sociable, red with white markings, AKC Miniature Poodle who was born April 26, 2017. She weighs a healthy 21 pounds and measures 16 inches from the floor to her withers. She comes to us from a Minnesota breeder who is retiring. Special thank you to this breeder as she was willing to wait until the tax season ended (April 15th) for me so we could start accepting some of her adult Poodles. She also wanted the best homes for her Poodles as they enter their “retirement” years. Lulu was scared out of her mind the first few days with us. But she quickly became the sociable and loving Poodle as she had been a house dog before being sold to a kennel. She has also been a perfect girl in our home (housetrained). This is such a very smart and good girl too! Sit down then watch as Lulu will jump into your lap and snuggle with you. As pictured, she greatly enjoying visiting with our granddaugher who had just finished her recent softball game in Becker. Lulu follows us around our entire home while being a part of our family. She is also allowed to run freely in our home while we are home. I’ve even found her in our bedroom on our bed while enjoying looking at herself in the mirror saying... "Look at me! I'm so cute!". Lulu also likes to help me make the bed and fold the laundry. I suspect she’d like to sleep in bed with people too. When we are gone and at night, she is kenneled (like all our Poodles are) which she has no problem with. Lulu is a soft, gentle, easy-going girl who just loves men as well as women. She will come when she is called, will bark when someone comes to the door, she enjoys going for a short walk, but also likes to sit on the chair while watching you and all that is going on around her. While Lulu has been around other dogs all her life, she would be willing to accept living with another family dog. But she would be just fine by herself as she considers herself a member of a family and NOT a dog. *A SECURLY FENCED YARD WILL BE REQUIRED as she has been a kennel dog and not trained to relieve herself on a leash. *You must be physically able to handle a large Miniature Poodle. *Preference will be given to a quiet family with past Poodle experience. *Easy going, gentle dogs are fine. BUT PLEASE: *NO puppies or cats. *NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare her and me). *NO young children. *Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. Lulu had been spayed. Then a few weeks later at her dental appointment, she had 22 of her rotting teeth removed. Ouch. It was a difficult and long surgery, but she did just fine. Now she is feeling a LOT better and is eating a hard kibble, so no need for soften dog food. She is up to date on her vaccinations, worming, has been heartworm / lymes / ehrlich / anaplas (4DX) tested negative, placed on a heartworm preventative, and Home Again microchipped. As with all the other Poodles we have adopted, Lulu’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family her adoption fee is $450.00 which includes $31.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax. This fee helps to pay for some of her extensive vet work. Also included is her leash, collar, a bag of quality dog food, a 10-gallon dog food container, treats, dog toys in a cute toy box, a new blanket, a dog bed along with her kennel and lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw! Lulu is a very nice, loving Miniature Poodle girl who deserves a good and loving home for her “retirement”. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, I’m Nina, a precious and sweet albeit very shy female Chihuahua/Bichon Frise mix puppy. I'm a little cautious around people and don’t like loud noises or a lot of commotion, so I’m not sure if kids are a good fit for me! I admit that I follow my foster mom everywhere, not necessarily because I want her attention, but because I want to know what she’s up to. Unless, of course, she’s giving the other pups attention—then I must be part of the action! Hee hee! I love playing with toys and eating treats. I've even started taking treats from my foster mom’s hand. Yay for me! I’m still working on potty training and doing great if kept on a routine. I also don’t like the kennel or crate. In fact, I will holler a lot when I first go into the crate and randomly throughout the night, so just for the record, you have been warned! Hee hee! I will need a dog companion and a fenced yard in my new home so we can safely explore and play together. At home, I’m lovingly shy. I kiss my foster mom in the morning and get really excited when she asks, "Are you ready to eat?" I still have to be on two leashes when I go out in the yard, but I’m coming back into the house with less hesitation now. I love other dogs and do zoomies with them in the house. Chewing on bones, especially rubber ones, is one of my favorite pastimes. Plus, I'm a super smart girl who already knows what "sit," "stay," "down," "leave it," and "go potty" all mean. I even know how to "give a kiss"! I’m looking for a fur-ever home with someone who will love me unconditionally, never give up on me, and patiently allow me the time and space I need to become comfortable in my own way. I have a huge heart overflowing with love that I want to share. Please be my fur-ever family. I promise we will make amazing memories together! All my love, Nina Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       DOB: 12/07/2022 Requires another dog in home: Yes, another well-balanced dog is required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown, likely afraid of kids Weight: 8 pounds and growing Food Fed: Solid Gold Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, required Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi, my name is Corbin and I am a very shy and timid puppy that is ready to find my forever people with patience, toys and lots of love to help me be the best I can be! I’m very afraid of being touched by humans but I do love them.  I’ve been brave enough to lick my foster mom’s hand but I’ll run away if you try to hold me or pick me up.  With time, lots of patience and love, I’ll get there.  I’m getting a little better every day but when things are scary, they’re really scary! You have to understand that I likely have never been in a loving home so sounds like the TV, clanking dishes, the horrible vacuum and lots of commotion might make me a little worried. I have shown foster mom that I do have some puppy antics in me, hee hee! I like to play with soft toys, run around the yard and wrestle with the other dogs in my foster home. So, it’ll be important that I have a good doggy role model in my forever home to help me learn that touch isn’t scary and keep learning. A social, well-balanced and confident dog is required. This means that my buddy will need to show me humans are safe, how to get on a potty routine and teach me which toys are the best! My fur-brother and the other dogs in my foster home have been amazing teachers! I am still working on my dog skills like potty training. We go outside on a routine, but I will still need of practice in my forever home. Foster mom wants to let you know that I am smart – I already know what “go potty” means! We tried kennel training, and oh boy, I will tell you how much I don’t like it! Bark bark! Foster mom uses gates for the dogs when she isn’t home. I also bark at her when she comes home – maybe I’m telling you I’m glad you’re home, or maybe I’m filling you in on what happened when you were away!  Also, a fenced yard is required as I don’t have a leash or tie-out experience. This is very important for potty training too. My foster mom said I’m fun, adorable, learns quickly and likes to play with other dogs and that I play hard!  Oh and that I have a wonderful appetite! I will let you know with a bark bark that I am excited for dinner! I’m just an overall, very happy dog who loves the feel of the sun on my face when I’m sitting outside, other dogs and treats.  All I need now is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a family that will help me be the best I can be! Foster mom says that with time I will learn to trust – we are taking baby steps. Will you take those baby steps with me? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! My name is Dwight, and I'm an adorable 15-pound BichonPoo with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. At just 1 year old, I'm still young and learning about the world around me. Let me tell you a bit more about myself. What do you do when you’re a little guy who is just learning all the things that make being a dog wonderful?  You find a forever home that will help guide you through it and exposure you to all the love and patience you can have.  I’m so unsure of things that I need assistance from my loving foster mom who helps me and reassures me in just about everything she can but I also will need another dog in my forever home who can show me all about being a dog and help me be confident.  I'm a loving guy who absolutely adores playing with my foster sister. We have a blast chasing each other around the yard and doing zoomies. I'm a little timid, but every day I'm becoming more confident and comfortable in my surroundings. When I'm outside, I need to be on a leash for extra safety, but I'm getting better at coming back from the fenced yard into the house without any trouble. I'm a great eater and a bit mischievous, which adds to my charm. In the mornings, I love to wake up my foster parent by licking their ear—I'm such a sweetheart! I do have a few fears, like loud noises and a lot of commotion, so if there are kids in my forever home it would be best if they are older. Potty training is a work in progress for me; I know to use a potty pad and go outside, but I still have occasional accidents inside. I'm not crate trained, but I don't mind because I prefer to have a bit more freedom. Some of my favorite activities include chewing on bones and playing with plush toys. I do bark when my foster parent comes home and when I see a dog on the TV—it's just my way of saying I'm excited! I need to be in a home with another dog to help me build trust and get into a good routine. With patience and love, I'll continue to grow more confident. I'm a wonderful dog who just needs a little extra time and care to fully blossom. If you think you can provide the loving, patient home I need, I'd be so excited to meet you. Together, we can create a lifetime of happy memories! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. T his puppy requires an application fee. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
