Comet was being Euthanized by his owners, he was with one family 8 years. When they moved from a house to an apartment he became anxious and not when trying to get him from under the bed. Comet has been in my house ever since while I try to find him a new home. He's been through behavioral training and would do best in a home with not other pets, he is a very young 8 year old and having a nice walk everyday keeps him healthy and happy. He enjoys chasing squirrels and acting like a dog. He's actually a great protector and would do great with an active owner . He is neutered,microchipped, UTD on shots and on HW and flea prevention. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. Meet Bentley: He is a 4 yr old Golden Doodle that is looking for an active family that is home alot. He transitioned into his foster care with zero major issues. He loves showing and getting affection. In a short period of time, under 2 weeks, Bentley has learned STAY, SIT, HERE and HOME. We are working on TURN right now. He is a loveable dog. He wants to play, get rubbed and cuddle. He is comfortable with brushing. He LOVES attention, playing with balls and other toys. He is crate trained. If on a schedule, house trained, right now we go every 3 hours, in our care, has quickly learned to only potty on the left side of our backyard, aka poop alley, making it easy for weekly cleanup. While at work and overnight he has had no accidents in her crate. SMART is an understatement. He loves going on a drive, but he wants to be a front seat passenger. He is a lover and will be greatly missed in his foster home. If you are looking for a great doodle, and have a lot of time to spend with him, act quick. He will be adopted quickly. Marty is being fostered in PA. 1-17-2026 Update for Marty Marty is doing really well in his foster home and is still a spunky little man with a bit of arthritis in his backend but it doesn't slow him down. Marty's hearing continues to be pretty good for his age and he is right in the mix of his foster siblings when Mom comes home after being out for any time. Marty's hair has grown in nicely on his back. He was almost bald when he came to his foster home. Marty's foster mom had never seen a change in a foster's personality quite as drastic as she did following Marty's dental, when all of his teeth had to be removed. Some teeth were so badly decayed that they had begun to calcify and attach to his jaw bones. After a few days of recovery, he began to eat and to be interested in the world. Marty eats soaked kibble with some soft food mixed in and eats every bite of each meal. He is now on 4 medications for his congestive heart failure and is doing very well with just an occasional cough. Fun facts about Marty: -He LOVES burrowing into beds that have a flap for him to crawl under -He is not safe when on furniture because he will quickly decide he wants off and give no warning and has no fear. -Marty never barks -Marty is smaller than the two cats in his foster home and really doesn't care. :) Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
