Story
Comet was being Euthanized by his owners, he was with one family 8 years. When they moved from a house to an apartment he became anxious and not when trying to get him from under the bed. Comet has been in my house ever since while I try to find him a new home. He's been through behavioral training and would do best in a home with not other pets, he is a very young 8 year old and having a nice walk everyday keeps him healthy and happy. He enjoys chasing squirrels and acting like a dog. He's actually a great protector and would do great with an active owner . He is neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots and on HW and flea prevention. Please reach out to me personally I would love to discuss Comet I will be happy to answer any questions. Jenna Hughes founder of For The Love of Cats Rescue 214-405-4384

Story
Thay came from a difficult hoarding situation, but he’s made incredible progress and has adapted beautifully to family life. He gets along great with our pets and is a total love bug once he feels comfortable. While he can be cautious around new people and unfamiliar animals, his gentle and affectionate personality really shines through. He’s fully potty trained and crate trained, and one of his cutest traits is his happy little hops when he gets excited. He would do best in a home with older children or no kids, where he can continue to build confidence and soak up all the love he deserves. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Popeye is a tall Doodle and has the strength of his namesake Popeye the Sailor Man. He will give you a workout when he has a destination in mind on a walk (though he can do the leisurely stroll too), and could be helpful pulling small carts (just kidding, though he could be taught that). On the inside though he is a sweet, gentle, cuddly guy who will love you forever. Can you return the favor? Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are Spayed/Neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventive. Story
Meet Kodi — proof that age is just a number. At 12 years old and just 6.5 pounds, Kodi is the kind of loyal, low-maintenance companion dreams are made of. He’s house-trained (even in the rain!), sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and quickly mastered the doggie door like the smart little guy he is. Kodi loves nothing more than being near you—happily curled up at your side or trotting along on a walk, just glad to be included. He is gentle, calm, and full of life, with so much love left to give. He eats only canned food due to his lack of teeth and his age. Kodi didn’t deserve to be surrendered to a shelter by his owner but now he’s ready to be someone’s whole world. Maybe yours? We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet Perla — a petite senior sweetheart whose gentle presence and joyful little moments make every day brighter. Perla is low-energy overall and perfectly content being your quiet companion. She enjoys short bursts of play, but her favorite place is curled up right beside her people. Whether you’re working, reading, or moving around the house, Perla will happily keep you company — often following along quietly just to stay close. She has some truly endearing quirks that make her extra special. Perla adores her stuffed bunny, which she carries around the house and snuggles with. And in the mornings, she celebrates the day in the cutest way — by pouncing into the nearest pile of leaves, rolling around, and letting out a little howl as if she’s greeting the world. It’s impossible not to smile watching her start her day. Perla is fully potty trained and even adds a bit of entertainment to her routine with a quick 30-second zoomie session and a tiny “song” before heading out. She does great in her crate and will politely let you know when she needs to go outside in the morning. While she can feel a bit nervous if a large dog approaches her kennel, she does well with other dogs in general and this is something her foster is actively helping her work through. She rides well in the car — a little whining at first, then settling in and usually falling asleep. In public settings like the vet’s office and when visitors come over, Perla has been friendly, social, and eager to make new friends. Perla does well with other dogs and seems especially comfortable with smaller pups. She has happily coexisted with both a large female dog and a tiny male dog, showing playful interest and enjoying snuggles with the smaller dog. She has also done well with cats in a previous foster home, remaining aware but not overly engaged. Currently healing from recent medical procedures, Perla is ready to find a loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by comfort, patience, and affection. If you’re looking for a gentle, low-key companion with a sweet soul and just the right touch of playful charm, Perla may be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Phoenix: Seniority has Perks Perfectly Suited: - Owner who is excited to navigate the realities and opportunities of an aging dog - Fenced in yard (small to medium) - Willing to support specific dietary or medical needs - Quiet home Rising Gloriously Looking for a charming, feisty gentleman with a heart of gold? Meet Phoenix—a spunky senior doodle who’s earned every grey hair. Phoenix may be blind and deaf with a bit of a wobble in his walk, but don’t let that fool you—he navigates life with determination, sass, and frequent power naps. He enjoys the simple pleasures: a chilled pup cup, a good ear rub, and curling up like a baby in your arms for snuggles. His hair is soft as silk and his underbite is undeniably endearing. Phoenix is no drama king—he’s chill, independent, and naps like a pro. He coexists well with other respectful dogs and holds his own without any aggression. He’s x-pen trained, housebroken-ish (hey, nobody’s perfect), and expresses his needs using the same bark for all purposes. He needs a steady, loving human who won’t mind his quirks, will stick to a routine, and sees his unique spirit as the treasure it is. Phoenix doesn’t just deserve a retirement home—he deserves a fan club. Is that you? Ready to Commit? Phoenix’s adoption fee is $200. He is current on all vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. Phoenix has completed heartworm treatment while with DDR. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Phoenix a second chance. If you would like to fill out an application and you are within a 5-hour drive of one of our metro areas (DFW, Houston, Austin or San Antonio), please click on one of the Adoption Application buttons on this page https://www.doodledandyrescue.org/all-adoptable-doodles/phoenix and select PHOENIX from the drop-down menu on the application form.
