He can be food aggressive and may guard his space or resources, so he’ll thrive best with experienced adopters who can give him the structure and guidance he needs. Despite his quirks, Peter is a sweet boy who loves attention, belly rubs, and being doted on. He’s highly food-motivated, loves his toys, and enjoys running around outside and soaking up the sunshine. With his high energy level, Peter would be a great match for an active home that can provide lots of mental and physical stimulation. He’s currently working on his leash manners and potty training, and he’ll benefit from a consistent routine to help him succeed. Gertrude is a very timid but gentle soul. She was trapped in order to be rescued and heavily matted when we got her. She does not trust people yet, but will sleep in bed with me and the other dogs and sometimes in the mornings she will lick my face but she avoids human tough still. She has not tried to bite or nip but she will take time to learn to trust. For this reason she needs a very quiet home with no kids who could accidentally let her out. If she were to escape there would likely be no catching her. She weighs about 9-10 lbs and is about 2 years old. Gertrude is spayed, upt on shots, and microchipped. She is heartworm positive but has been given meds and Proheart 12. She needs to be retested in 6 mos (June) and if she is positive we will pay for another Proheart injection.
