Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Shar Pei / Labrador X DOB: 10/18/2024 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): black Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm La Brea, a very sweet Shar Pei / Labrador X in need of a new home as my owner's landlord said I had to go. I'm initially shy when I meet new people, but I warm up. I can be a bit clingy once I get to know them. I'm full of energy and enjoy playing and running outside. You will need to be careful when opening doors as I may try to sneak out and go exploring. I walk well on leash and know the command sit. It's unknown how I would do with another dog or cat. It's noted I'm good with older children. If you're ready and able to give me a lifetime of love and wonderful memories, I promise to fill your life with love, laughter and so much happiness. Please fill out an online application to meet me.*Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life.January 17, 2026, 6:36 pm

Story
HI - I'M JULIE! I'm a sweet 10-year-old Shar Pei/American Bully mix in need of a foster or forever home. I've been waiting for about three years for a home and that's a bit sad, but I'm still hopeful my person or people will come along. I only weigh about 52 lbs and am an affectionate snuggle bug. I prefer to be the only dog in the home and prefer people to dogs so would do best with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. I'm not a fan of cats either, so no kitties for me please. I am in great athletic shape and still love to go for walks and hikes. And I love the water! I also love the fresh air and the feeling of the sunshine on my back. Could you foster or adopt me please?

Story
Meet Dirk – A Resilient and Loving Companion Dirk is a 5.5-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei mix who recently came to us from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. He weighs around 44 lbs and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Despite a tough past—Dirk was injured in a kennel incident with another dog—he remains incredibly sweet and friendly. His right side was shaved for treatment, but he's healing well and his spirit is stronger than ever. Dirk is great with people and other dogs, and he's looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved,October 22, 2025, 3:55 am

Story
We named him Spalding because his face looks like a catcher's mitt! He is so much fun and loves the attention. You can squish his face all day long and he will be your best friend. Spalding loves his walks. He weighs 55 pounds, and is pretty easy to be around. He does well with other dogs and initiates play with my female Staffordshire terrier. He can definitely benefit from leadership and training. Overall, he is a great dog that will bring you so much joy! All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
Meet Pearl! A sweet and spirited six-month-old Shar Pei/Siberian Husky mix currently in Los Alamitos, CA, whose essence shines through her soft cream and tan coat and her endlessly wagging tail. Pearl is a bundle of playful energy and snuggly affection, already showing the heart and smarts of a lifelong companion in the making! Pearl’s favorite things in the world? People, pups, and playtime! She’s incredibly social and absolutely adores human attention. Whether it’s a walk around the block, backyard ball toss, or some quiet cuddle time after a long day. And speaking of fetch, Pearl is a pro! She’ll happily chase after a squeaky toy or tennis ball and bring it right back, every single time, with a look of pure joy on her face. Pearl thrives in the company of other dogs and would blossom in a home with a friendly canine sibling to romp and relax with. She's wonderfully quiet for such a young pup (no barking, no whining) just gentle tail wags and soulful eyes. Though she’s still learning the ropes, Pearl picks up new routines quickly. She’s potty trained, using pee pads inside when the door is closed, and heads outside on her own when given access. At night, she might sneak into bed when the air gets chilly (carefully, gently, without waking anyone) just to curl up beside someone warm. It’s a little ritual that speaks volumes about her loving nature. Pearl would do best in a peaceful, cat-free home, as past experiences with less-than-friendly felines have left her longing for more harmony. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and healthy, with plenty of pep in her step and so much love to give. Her ideal family will offer daily walks, a fenced yard to explore, and most importantly, a big-hearted pup sibling to share her days with. Are you ready to welcome a loyal, playful, and affectionate young companion who’s always up for an adventure or a nap by your side? Pearl can’t wait to meet you! Story
Meet RoxyRoxy is a sweet, strong-minded girl with a calm, easygoing personality who is looking for a home that appreciates a more relaxed companion. While she enjoys getting outside, Roxy is more of a short-walk kind of dog who prefers leisurely strolls over long adventures. She’s happiest when life moves at her pace.At the shelter, Roxy has become a staff favorite thanks to her affectionate nature and steady presence. She has been making positive progress and recently formed a friendship with Juniper, showing that she can enjoy the company of the right dogs.Roxy is dog-selective and does best with larger male dogs, particularly those with calm or balanced temperaments. Thoughtful introductions are important for her success, and she would thrive in a home that understands canine social dynamics.Roxy bonds deeply with her people and enjoys close companionship, relaxed routines, and plenty of affection. She is food-motivated, which makes her receptive to training and continued learning.Due to her preferences and comfort level, Roxy would do best in a home without young children, where she can enjoy a calm, predictable environment.Roxy is looking for a stable, understanding home where she can enjoy comfort, companionship, and quiet routines. If you’re searching for a loyal, low-energy dog with a big heart, Roxy may be the perfect fit.

Story
I have been waiting for my family for a year and a half. Search Dog Foundation found me at the shelter and thought I might enjoy becoming a Search and Rescue dog, but once I got there and saw all the squirrels, I had a different job in mind: protect the humans from the squirrels! I love bouncing around, running trails, and training with my favorite humans, especially if they have a nice bag of cheese in their training pouch. I can file my own nails, sit in a swivel chair, and even climb trees! I love being active and can't wait to find a family that will appreciate all the funny quirks about me!
