Meet Dirk – A Resilient and Loving Companion Dirk is a 5.5-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei mix who recently came to us from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. He weighs around 44 lbs and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Despite a tough past—Dirk was injured in a kennel incident with another dog—he remains incredibly sweet and friendly. His right side was shaved for treatment, but he's healing well and his spirit is stronger than ever. Story
We named him Spalding because his face looks like a catcher's mitt! He is so much fun and loves the attention. You can squish his face all day long and he will be your best friend. Spalding loves his walks. He weighs 55 pounds, and is pretty easy to be around. He does well with other dogs and initiates play with my female Staffordshire terrier. He can definitely benefit from leadership and training. Overall, he is a great dog that will bring you so much joy! All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.
