Our special needs senior, Missy, is looking for her forever home. Missy is a 100% sweetheart despite being blind (from built up scar tissue). Missy is currently in a foster home and her foster mom tells us she is the perfect dog if you're looking for a calm senior who is happy to chill most of the day. She does have eye medication which she gets twice a day. Her skin was in need of some help when Missy came to us but with weekly medicated baths, it has improved tremendously and continues to improve. Now she only needs them once or twice a month. Missy is currently in a home with another dog and, although she doesn't play, she's happy to hang out with her canine friend. Taking walks is not big on her list of things to do, but she will wait at the door when she needs to go potty and is happy to cruise around the fenced yard. Some of our most heartfelt moments here at Satchel's is watching our animals come out of their shells to reveal their wonderful and different personalities. One of our most notable pups would be Miss Sicily. When she first arrived, Sicily kept her guard up, she was nervous and untrusting. She would let a select few staff members engage with her, but did not show affection and was more relieved when the interaction was over. Fast forward a few weeks, and we could see a small spark starting to show through, she was more willing to take treats from us and was more curious about going outside. She then found a lovely Woof Pack leader, Peg, who was willing to work with her on socializing and getting her to open up more. Soon she started jumping up on us when we went to clean her kennel, started giving us kisses and loved being rubbed all over. She started showing her silly side, playing with toys and goofing around. She was still nervous outside the kennel, and she still has moments when she is unsure about the environment, but her confidence has significantly grown since the day she first arrived. Sicily can still be a bit weary of men and tends to gravitate towards females, but we are so proud of the steps she has conquered and continues to, even today. She has shown us that the shyest of pups have a love for play and affection and sometimes it just takes patience and understanding to let their light shine through. Today, Sicily loves to go out with Peg in our back yard and run around, getting all her zoomies out and acting like a goofball. She loves to give hugs and kisses, getting belly rubs when she rolls over and just generally loves attention. Mr. Magoo's story didn't begin with kindness, but you'd never know it from the way he loves. This sweet boy came to us after being removed from a neglectful situation by animal services. When he arrived, he was severely underweight and in poor condition, having gone far too long without the care every dog deserves. Yet from the very beginning, Mr. Magoo showed us nothing but resilience, gentleness, and an incredible trust in people. After receiving the nutrition and initial medical care he needed, Mr. Magoo regained his strength and was able to undergo treatment for heartworm disease. He handled the lengthy process like a champion and has since successfully completed treatment. Most recently, he underwent surgery to correct bilateral entropion, helping him move forward toward a healthier, more comfortable life. Through every challenge, Mr. Magoo has remained one of the sweetest dogs we've ever met. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and an open heart, never letting his difficult past define him. His affectionate nature has made him a favorite among staff and volunteers, and he's done well with other dogs, proving that his loving spirit extends to his canine companions, too. Mr. Magoo rides well in the car and enjoys all his adventures out of the shelter. Now, Mr. Magoo is ready for the fresh start he's always deserved. Meet Sarah, a delicate and sweet girl who has been through a lot in her life. After running loose on the streets for over a year, Sarah was finally caught and taken to AWL. Although she is still very shy and fearful of everything and everyone, she has been making progress with the help of her dedicated foster mom. In foster care, Sarah has been enjoying meeting other pups in the neighborhood. Although she isn't much of a barker, she will let you know if trouble is brewing. Sarah has nice manners, enjoys her little safe spaces throughout the house, and shows no aggression whatsoever. Sarah is looking for a quiet and gentle home with no small kids, where she can continue to heal and overcome her fears. Had 3 kids in the matter of 4 years and they are severely allergic thats the only reason why we are looking to rehome.

I got her when I was 9y/o and was never taught or helped to raise her so I never trained her. We both left an abusive house this year in may she doesn’t do good with loud noises like yelling,throwing things, seeing people hit each other or acting like your going to hit her. Her birthday is July 15 she is 10 years old she has a brother at my older sisters house that she grew up with she already had a litter of babies please don’t use her like that I want her to have people by her side for her last years but me and my fiancé work long hours and I think she may have a UTI but I cannot afford to get her checked by vet she’s gone to vet before for shots I don’t remember the last time she got one. I want her to live somewhere where she’s safe and healthy.

She is good with kids/infants. Loves toys! can so aggressive behavior to other dogs over toys or territory , but on a daily basis she is good. She is the leader of the pack. Feeds off ur feelings. Very protective, she doesn’t let other dogs on ur lap or if u show other dog attention she will react. Walks on a leash right next to you. In public on leash she will growl at other people or dogs that get too close to you or her without proper introduction. She has had 3 cycles and not spade.
