Tucker is a 10 year young male boxer who found his way up to Rover Rescue from a high kill shelter in southern Indiana. His family no longer wanted him and I am still trying to figure it out. Tucker is the perfect gentleman inside and outside the house. Tucker still has energy to romp and play in the yard but his favorite place is right next to his human. He has shown himself to be housebroken and crate trained. Because of his great manners in the house he is not crated any longer. He is not destructive and has gotten along with every dog he has met. Tucker is your typical boxer and is a velcro dog. He had a dental by our vet and had to have four teeth removed, but that has not stopped him from eating. Tucker is up to date on all of his immunizations, he is neutered and microchipped. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $150. Tobias is a 2 year old boxer/lab mix. He weighs 57 lbs. Tobias is neutered and housebroken. We adopted Tobias almost two years ago and he has been the sweetest dog an owner can have. Unfortunately, we are in need of a new home for him because his shedding is making our son’s asthma worse. He is friendly, active, and gets along with kids. He also goes potty outside and sleeps in his crate. He knows a few tricks such as sit, lay-down, high five, stay, bed, crate, and rollover is almost nailed. Toby LOVES attention, as well as tummy and head rubs. He does very well at the groomer and vet appointments, but can get a little too excited on walks and nervous on car rides. He likes big rope and hard chewing toys (no fluffy toys). Tobias is a great, obedient and healthy dog. He will be a great addition to any family. His adoption fee is $225. Hi, I'm J.J.! I've been living the high life in a foster home and they have lots to say about me:"He's settled in here very quickly. What a cuddly angel. He likes to rub his head and face on you and just be right next to you. J.J.'s very gentle and doting with our toddler and been great with our dogs. Hi! I found this dog abandoned and saw that she needed a home. I took her home, gave her a bath, and fed her. She is the most gentle dog I’ve ever seen. I am posting her on here as to hope someone can care for her with a loving home. Bella is currently with a foster in Merrillville, IN. Bella’s foster home has said nothing but wonderful things about her. Bella is crate trained, house trained and potty trained. We are still working on getting leash trained with her since she is a bit of a puller. We would recommend Bella to be with a family who is active and who has other dogs. Bella gets along great with children of any age, as well as cats since her foster home has both children under 5 and 2 cats. If interested, please submit an application, thanks!

Hi! My name is Monty but I hear most people call me Beefcake. I am now 80lbs and an American bulldog. I was left in a high kill shelter in southern Indiana with 4 chihuahuas whom I got along with. When I got up north, I went to the vet who said I cannot be more than 3 and she poked me (immunizations) a lot. My foster house has been so wonderful and now I know how I should have been living all along. I get to get out and explore the yard and neighborhood when we walk. I would love to stay as active as possible to maintain my physique. Foster mom says I'm stubborn but I know that is just part of my breed. Sitting in the chair, watching out the window, is another of my favorite activities. I must keep up with what is going around the neighborhood and bark at the dogs who think they want to poop in my yard. I went to a babysitter for a week and they had KIDS! I found out that when they eat, they sure drop lots of food. No one had to bend over to pick up the dropped food...I was on it! I got to play with new dogs and boy, that was fun. I am always in my crate when I sleep and when foster mom goes to work. If you would like to hear more about my sparkling personality, please call Jen. Meet Queso, he's a 6 month bulldog of some sort, possibly even a little boxer as he likes to box the other dogs. He's a big puppy so most likely will be large when full grown. He currently weighs approximately 40 pounds. Queso has a cherry eye which is sometimes common in dogs, but it will be repaired by a Rover Rescue veterinarian prior to adoption. Otherwise, he has beautiful blue eyes. Queso is a fun-loving puppy, he's friendly and playful. He will need toys to keep him busy while he's learning as he will steal slippers and other items. He was a shelter favorite; they said how gentle and calm he was. Now that he's in a home he still is calm, but he does get excited like any other puppy. I think he will be just fine with children of most any age. Queso is doing very well on the housetraining. He may still have an accident but for the most part he's doing great. At night when I'm home he sleeps on a big dog bed not in a crate and sleeps all night without any accidents.
