Story
Meet Rudy 💙 Rudy is 5-6 years old and is a deeply affectionate, people-loving boy who thrives on closeness with his humans. He loves cuddling, being petted, and will happily sleep next to you at night. Wherever you go, Rudy is likely to follow — often carrying his favorite soothing toy in his mouth for comfort. He is good with other dogs, big and small. He is also good with little kids. Rudy knows basic commands and is fully housebroken, which makes settling into a new home much easier. He enjoys playtime, especially tug-of-war, and he takes his toy destruction job very seriously (squeaker toys beware!). He walks well on leash and does best wearing a harness, ideally a front-clip harness. He may pull a little and can bark when he sees people out on walks, but he recovers quickly and continues on. This behavior appears to be excitement or uncertainty rather than aggression, and with consistency, patience, and positive training, it continues to improve. Rudy is not a fan of being confined away from his people. He will voluntarily rest in his crate when it’s open and his human is nearby, but being crated while left alone is stressful for him. He would do best in a home that understands this and is willing to help him gradually build confidence with alone time. With stability, routine, and love, Rudy truly shines. He is a cuddly, loyal companion who bonds deeply and brings a lot of joy to those around him. He’s looking for a patient, loving home that will help him continue to grow into the amazing dog he already is. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Bullseye is a fun loving 2 year old boxer/bulldog mix who enjoys walks, cuddles, people of all shapes and sizes and most importantly butt scratches. He was found in a parking lot without a collar. He responds to come, chill out, stop and no but doesn't seem to remember sit. He is not a fan of table food like hot dogs, bread, or peanut butter. He puts his nose to it and doesn't want it. He is hesitant of treats but does go back for them eventually. He jumps but is very light about it, almost like a heavy cat. He distributes his weight well. He leaves food that is left out alone He is very well behaved on a leash. He does not pull and has a loose leash. He likes you to walk with him in the yard to do his business but will eventually go on his own with encouragement. He is house broken. He is okay on car rides except the front seat. He does not like it up there. He does not enjoy being alone and will run when you try to get him in his crate. He does NOT like the crate. I put a big blanket over it and he will settle after about 5 minutes. He is curious about cats. He doesn't lunge but gets up quickly and they may get scared. His temperament towards them makes me believe he was raised around them. He rubs on you like a cat would and likes to sit on the top back of the couch. He isn't fond of larger dogs and ignores them unless they approach while around his current person. He seems a bit territorial. He is NOT aggressive at all with food. You can feed him by hand or take his bowl while eating and is gentle with both. You can pet him while he eats. He is the perfect companion alpha dog. He does bark at new people but doesn't lunge or get aggressive. More like an alert, I don't recognize you. He will do best in a home without competing larger dogs. He loves his humans. He is a great little buddy.

I’m Bruce. Goofy, Hungry, and Ready to Be Your Best Decision.I'm currently in California. My bags are packed, I’m ready to travel to my new home. Where are you? Are you my new family? I’ll travel to you! I’m the kind of dog who makes you laugh without trying. Big smile. Silly energy. A little clumsy in the best way. I’ve got that Boxer vibe in me, or at least that goofy charm that makes people say it. I’m friendly. I’m sweet. I like people. I’m the dog who walks into a room like we’re already friends. Let’s get one thing out of the way. I love food. A lot. Meals, treats, snacks, crumbs. If it’s edible, I’m interested. It makes training easy though. You’ve got snacks, I’ve got focus. I’m a strong boy too. Not out of control, just solid. I need someone who’s comfortable handling a dog with some muscle. I’ll do great with structure, guidance, and regular exercise. My skin looks pretty good now, but I may have had some irritation in the past, maybe fleas or something that needed time to heal. It’s not slowing me down. I just might need someone who keeps an eye on it and stays on top of care. I don’t come with a list of issues. I come with personality. I come with love. I come with a goofy face that makes bad days better. I’m Bruce.Bring the snacks. I’ll bring the fun. ##2650784##

I’m not rude. I’m cautious. There’s a difference. Everybody else comes barreling through life like they’ve never had a bad day. Me? I like to think things through first. I watch. I study people. I make sure you’re safe before I hand over my tiny little boxer-pittie heart. But once you’re in?Oh, I’m IN. Then I’m following you around. Sitting by your feet. Sneaking little kisses when nobody’s looking. Acting like I never doubted you for a second. I’m 3 months old and part of Maggie’s miracle crew. Our mom was rescued pregnant and exhausted, carrying nine puppies and hoping somebody would help her. Lucky for us, somebody did. Now I’m learning how to be a puppy instead of a survival story. I really love the big dogs in my foster home. I think they’re fascinating. I trail after them like a tiny intern trying to learn the ropes. I’m friendly with everybody once I settle in, but I’m not the cannonball puppy of the group. I’ve got a softer, thoughtful side. Good with kids. Good with dogs. Sweet once you earn me. I’m Strawberry.A little guarded.A little sensitive.A really good girl. ##2698001##

Story
People see my face and think I’m tough. And okay, sure. I do look like I could front a biker gang made entirely of puppies. But the truth? I’m basically a marshmallow with muscles. I’m Huckleberry. Three months old. Boxer-pittie mix. Tough-looking little sweetheart. I like to wrestle. I like to tumble around with the other puppies. I puff myself up like I’m very intimidating. Then five minutes later I’m melting into cuddles and looking at people with my soft baby eyes. My foster family says I’ve got this funny mix of “don’t mess with me” and “please hold me.” Pretty accurate honestly. My mom Maggie survived long enough for rescuers to find her before she had all nine of us puppies. Because of that, I got a chance at a real puppyhood. One with toys and couches and people who kiss my forehead instead of walking past me. I’m good with kids. Good with dogs. Strong little guy with a very sweet heart. Basically the emotional support linebacker of the litter. ##2697995##

Story
You know those quiet kids in school who sat in the back and secretly had the sweetest hearts? That’s me. I’m Honeyberry. Tiny boxer-pittie mix. Three months old. Professional observer of human nonsense. I take longer to warm up than my siblings. New people make me nervous at first. Loud things? Weird things? Fast hands? Yeah, I’d rather not. But if you give me patience instead of pressure, something really nice happens. I start to trust you. Then suddenly I’m leaning into your hand for pets. Following you room to room. Looking at you like maybe the world isn’t such a scary place after all. My mom Maggie got lucky. Somebody saved her before she had all nine of us puppies out in the world alone. So now I’m learning what safety feels like instead of struggling to survive. I’m good with dogs. Good with kids. I just need people who understand that softer souls sometimes bloom slower. And honestly? Those are usually the best dogs. ##2698003##

Story
Pearl is such a special girl. She’s about 3 years old, around 40 pounds, and full of love. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, clingy (in the best way), and just loves being around her people. She’s the type of dog who wants to be by your side all the time, whether you’re going for a walk or just hanging out at home. She’s potty trained, has had training, and is still learning. On walks, she’s doing better and better. She’s no longer chasing animals like before, and this is something we’ve been actively working on. She can still have some puppy moments (a little jumping on us), but she has improved a lot and continues to do so. Pearl is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She does really well with people, but she needs to be the only pet in the home. No other animals at all. She just doesn’t do well with other pets and will be happiest where she can be the only child. She also doesn’t love being alone for long periods, so she would do best with someone who is around more and wants a very loving, loyal companion. We also recommend regular potty breaks (ideally no more than about 4 hours apart), as she had a severe UTI when she was rescued that took months to treat. Keeping her on a consistent schedule helps keep her happy and healthy. One of the most special things about Pearl is her smile. She truly smiles when she sees and walks to us, and it’s something so unique and heart-melting. She has such a big heart and so much love to give. She’s honestly one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you deeply and be your little shadow, Pearl is that dog. She just needs the right home where she can feel safe, loved, and fully supported.

Story
Hi! My name is Patty! Foster mom has been calling me Patty Cake. I am a 7 year old bully mix. I am a bit chunky, but we are going to work on that. It does not stop me from doing zoomies around the yard! I am a great mix of energetic when you want to go out for a walk and couch potato. I have no issues curling up on the couch to read or watch tv. We are still learning about personal space. I like to climb up on foster mom. I love other dogs. I am so happy to meet new friends. I have been trying to get my foster siblings to play with me. I respect my older foster sister when she tells me I am in her space. I love all people. I was so happy at the adoption event when people stopped to pet me. I may do better in a home with older kids just because I do not realize my size and could knock little ones over. I can get very exuberant. I am crate trained and potty trained. I may whine a little in my crate, but settle down. I have not had any accidents in the house. I love walks, but can be a little strong. Foster mom Is going to try and work on some leash manners. I will walk nicely until I see something I have to go check out. I ride nicely in the car too, so will have no trouble going on adventures with you! Foster mom calls me a bull in a china shop. I am a big lovable goofball. I have no concept of my size. When I went to the pet store I just kept knocking stuff over. I do make my foster mom laugh with my antics. I really want to find a home to settle into. Don’t let the fact that I am 7 scare you off. It just means I am well past the puppy stage. I have lots of love to give my family. If you would like to meet me, please call Annie at 815-685-0746. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
