Intelligent, loving, and eager to please, she plays hard and naps harder!Vixen loves to be outdoors and looks forward to venturing into the woods and hiking with her new family. She also enjoys being inside–looking out the window, playing with toys, or soaking up loving attention from her people. She’s a medium energy dog who enjoys play and exercise and then needs to recharge with a long nap. While she is up for playing with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages, she is still learning to take cues from other dogs. Vixen has not yet interacted with children, but it would likely go very well as she has a lot of love to give. However, she can be nervous of loud sounds and she is a big girl, so dog-savvy kids and a calm environment would be ideal. Vixen settles into her crate quickly and quietly. She is silent overnight and sleeps in the crate during the day when home alone. Although generally not a big barker, she may be vocal if crated when people are home and moving around out of her sight. She is fully house trained and great at alerting when she needs to go outside. She is learning how to walk nicely on the leash–she does not pull, but is very curious and likely to follow her nose instead of walking in a straight line. She should progress quickly, though, as she is eager to please and food motivated! She’s also been practicing pack walks with a dog walker, which should improve her leash walking. Vixen is such a good girl. She is gaining confidence and skills every day. And she is trying very hard to learn how to catch a ball! As personable as she is curious and loving, Vixen cannot wait to meet her forever family! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website.
