Story
Tank & Chrissy are gorgeous, gentle and very sweet purebred shar peis who were given up to the rescue after their owner in rural Mississippi passed away. They are just wonderful dogs, friendly and loving and very bonded. We would love for them to be adopted together. Tank and Chrissy are not siblings, their owner purchased them from a breeder with the intent to breed and then sell puppies. Chrissy had one litter and then her owner passed away. Wag spayed and neutered Tank and Chrissy once they came to the rescue, Wags also paid for necessary eye surgery for both dogs and they have recovered well. Unfortunately, they are both heartworm positive, but have a mild cases and are being treated. They will be two years old this summer. We have decided to list them now to see if we can find a potential adopter who is willing to adopt them together and either wait for them to finish their heartworm treatment or even adopt them and continue the treatment on their own. They really are extremely easy and just the nicest dogs and deserve a loving home of their own.   At the rescue Tank and Chrissy live with other dogs and are friendly to kids and are well socialized. They love to play together, adore toys and bones and are both major snuggle bugs. We have not listed an adoption fee for Tank and Chrissy—their vet bills have been into the thousands between the eye surgery, spay, neuter, and heartworm treatment, and we are not expecting that to be reimbursed but would like to discuss the fee with any potential adopters. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3  where one woman cares for 150 dogs in a small town in Mississippi.   For more information on Tank & Chrissy please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com     May 7, 2024, 7:14 pm

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper, slow introductionsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Older children only (16+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesIf you’re looking for the ultimate companion, Jaxtyn checks all of the boxes: he’s extremely smart, attentive, dedicated, and eager to make his humans happy. (Plus, he’s extra, extra handsome if we do so say so ourselves!)Jaxtyn absolutely loves affection and thrives on the connection he makes with his humans. While he does prefer a slower introduction when meeting new people, he quickly becomes comfortable and loves to show off his impressive manners. Jax gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions (he can still be wary of new friends he meets on the street), and while he would enjoy a dog sibling to nap and play with, he would be just as happy as an only dog where he can be the center of attention.Jaxtyn has been working diligently on his training with his foster dad and has an impressive skillset that includes focus and release commands, expert-level leash-walking skills, and all of his basic commands like ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘wait’. Jaxtyn is fully house and crate-trained and thrives with structure and routine. Jaxtyn is currently working to gain more confidence on walks around things like bikes, scooters, or busy sidewalks and he’s making stellar progress. Jaxtyn would do great in a home in the city as he’s shown he can be comfortable in an urban setting or would love a more low-key house in the suburbs with a yard to romp and roam in. Bonus - he’s great in the car so he’d be thrilled to be your adventure buddy! Jaxtyn is an amazing boy who’s ready to find - and unconditionally love - his family! May 9, 2024, 5:41 am
