Story
Guero is a 3 year old, 63 lbs. boy in search of his forever home. He loves every new person that he meets and warmly welcomes everyone. He loves other dogs of all sizes but could use a little work on his overly excited sniffing when meeting them Guero is always friendly but some dogs may not enjoy the intense sniffing that comes when meeting Guero. After the first minutes of excitement, Guero will just want to chill and do his own thing. He is currently fostered with 6 other large and medium size dogs and gets along with all of them. He loves running with his buddies in the yard and is a fan of chew sticks and squeaky plushy toys. When indoors, he turns into “a lap dog but huge" as his foster mom describes him. He loves to cuddle with people and will spend 80% of his time on the couch. He sleeps in his crate every day and potties outside only.    He can get a bit jumpy when excited but is working on it! Best home for Guero: this pup would do well in a home with parents that have had prior experience with big dogs, with children aged 9 and above. Also, he would do great living with other dogs because he doesn’t fight for attention but he can also be the only dog in the house as he's a happy-go-lucky guy. Guero's rescue story: this puppy was living on the streets of Houston for months before a volunteer took him to her house. She became attached to him after seeing how sweet he was with the people living in the volunteer's apartment building. We think that he had an owner at some point and was abandoned after he got "too big" but he wasn't chipped and no one ever looked for him (the volunteer posted him in lost and found dog websites without any luck). This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:  •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.  •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. Sandy Paws Rescue’s MA license number # 0272 ##2310711##

Story
Meet Pippa!Wrinkles for daaaaaays ðŸ˜\x8DPippa is a two year old bulldog and her size and height make us think Old English Bulldogge rather than your typical short, stout lowriders. Not only does Pippa have wrinkles for days but she's also got legs for days and she's much taller than what you would expect from a typical bulldog. She weighs about 73lbs and she is all muscle...and beauty and grace, obviously.Pippa's personality is pure sunshine. She is bright and warm and you just can't help but smile when you see her. She came from a not so great situation and it's absolutely heartbreaking because she is such a loving dog full of life and joy and pure enthusiasm. She's a social butterfly that prefers people above all else - even snacks! She loves meeting new friends and watching her little nub wiggle when she sees another dog will make your day, if not your entire week. She's a smart girl that knows her cues and likes to show them off almost as much as she likes playing with tennis balls. Walks are her passion, especially when you let her investigate everything. Given her size, she's not all that terrible on a leash but she is sturdy enough (and occasionally stubborn enough) to throw her weight around to go where she wants to go. We haven't seen any resource guarding or food aggression or anything even remotely similar from her. Sharing is caring! For Pippa, we are looking for a home that can keep up with her love of walks and also has breed experience (brachycephalic breeds that understand allergies, the risks of overheating, etc). Other dogs in the home would be fine. No cats. Kids 12+. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.
