Meet Hank!Hank is a lot of things.Hank is a lab. He is an Australian Shepherd. He is a German Shepherd. He is a boxer. He is even a Boston terrier. There is A LOT going on inside of Hank. Most importantly? Hank is a certified good boy. And a peanut butter aficionado.Hank is about a 1y9mo and he weighs around 50lbs. He's good on a leash, he's a super friendly extrovert that adores people, he loves a good snuggle, and he knows his cues like the back of his paw. He's high energy but not chaotically so...think "constant zoomies" more than "bull in a china shop". He can and will jump up on you but he just can't help himself! He just wants to be your best friend SO BAD that he can't contain it!Hank is amazing with other dogs and definitely curious about cats, in the way humans are curious about aliens...we want to know more, we kinda want to get closer, but we're also not sure if this is a bad idea. He would do best with older kids (probably 10+) just because he has so much energy and is jumpy/can be a little mouthy when he's excited. Exceptions can be made for the right family if they have dog experience and the kid(s) is/are okay with being smothered with love by a big furry goober. He loves long walks (on the beach or otherwise), snoozing in the sun, and he's the BEST boy for the vet and getting groomed (aside from nail trims, those are evil). He's a good listener (both for commands and if you need an impromptu therapy session). He also thinks ice cubes are, like, the best toy ever.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Story
Meet Lumos, a bright and bouncy 1-year-old Boxer mix whose name is as magical as his personality! Weighing in at 45 lbs, Lumos is full of life, love, and goofy charm. This playful pup is a total socialite—he adores other dogs and thrives on playtime, especially games of fetch and tug of war. He’s not just fun—he’s smart too! Lumos already knows several commands like sit, stay, lay, paw, and place, and he’s fully potty trained. Lumos greets everyone like a long-lost friend, bringing enthusiastic energy and a wagging tail wherever he goes. Because of his exuberant spirit (and a bit of jumping), he’d be happiest in a home with older children. Due to his energy levels, he would love a fenced in yard for playing fetch and he would prefer a home without kitties. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate, and active companion, Lumos might be your perfect match! Lumos is currently being fostered in RI and is available for adoption throughout Northeastern states. *All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*

Story
Sunny lives up to her name in every possible way. This beautiful girl recently joined rescue and has already proven herself to be an easygoing, happy companion who is ready to brighten someone’s world. While we don’t know much about Sunny’s past, we do know she found her way to safety when she showed up one day at a home in rural Mississippi. Thankfully, the homeowner contacted our southern rescue partner, and Sunny’s journey to a better life began.Sunny does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around, but she would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one-and-only. She’s always up for an adventure but is just as content soaking up ear scratches and curling into the nearest soft dog bed when the day winds down. She is also doing amazing with her foster mom’s 6-year-old grandson and has shown herself to be gentle and affectionate with kids. One of her absolute favorite pastimes? Finding the perfect sunny spot and basking like the radiant girl she is — which makes her name especially fitting. As for her breed, Sunny is keeping us guessing. From the front she gives off strong boxer vibes, while her profile hints at a possible shepherd mix. Whatever her DNA may say, one thing is certain: Sunny is 100% sweetheart. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring warmth, joy, and plenty of sunshine into your life, Sunny is ready to shine her way straight into your heart.Name: SunnyBreed: Shepherd/Boxer (no DNA has been done and therefore no guarantees are made with regard to this dog’s breed mix.Sex: FemaleAge: 9 monthsWeight: 60lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Rin is a petite brindle beauty, about two years old, with a massive zest for life packed into her small pittie frame. She’s sweet, playful, and fast on her feet—especially when there’s a tennis ball involved! Fetch is her absolute favorite game, and she’ll happily chase after the ball as long as you throw it.This high-energy girl is still very puppyish in her behavior, despite paperwork suggesting she’s closer to 2. Luckily, she settles well in her crate after playtime and loves nothing more than being close to her people. Rin’s love language is touch—she wants to climb into your lap, wrap herself around you, and soak up every ounce of affection.Rin is incredibly social with humans and wants to meet every person she sees. With other dogs, however, she’s still learning her manners. She can be a bit too pushy and insistent, which has led to some altercations with tolerant males she’s been introduced to. With training, structure, and patience, Rin has excellent potential to mature into a more respectful playmate. For now, she may do best as your one-and-only pup while she learns. This gal is very smart and she already knows several basic commands. Check these out in this video:https://youtube.com/shorts/mnnSy7AHaEoIf you’re looking for a fun, loving, athletic companion who will make you laugh and keep you moving, Rin is your girl!Name: RinBreed: Boxer/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 47.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Loves all people she meets, not specifically tested with childrenGood with Dogs: Yes, but needs to learn social cues - she's an "in your face" puppy.Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $300.00Location of dog currently: Connecticut  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Apollo! 🐾 Apollo is a 4-year-old neutered male Boxer who is a total ball of energy and ready to find his new best friends! He perfectly embodies the classic Boxer personality—playful, goofy, affectionate, and always ready for fun. If you love the typical Boxer zest for life, Apollo will fit right into your heart (and probably your lap!). Apollo previously lived in a home with a baby and seems to think everyone he meets is his new best friend. He’s a social guy who loves being around people and being part of whatever is going on. Like many enthusiastic pups, Apollo could use a little help polishing up his manners—but who couldn’t? With some consistency, training, and plenty of outlets for his energy, he has all the potential to be an amazing companion. We don’t have any history of Apollo living with other dogs or cats, but we’d be happy to discuss introductions and what a successful transition might look like in your home. Experience with the Boxer breed would be wonderful, but it’s not required. Apollo is just looking for an active home that will embrace his playful spirit and help him continue learning and growing. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you smiling, Apollo might be your perfect match! Apply to adopt today, and/or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶💛

Story
Meet Bam!Bam is just as ridiculous as his ears are and just as ridiculous as his name would suggest. But seriously, look at those ears. Like, what even are those? Bunny ears on a dog, that's what.Bam is a two year old pit bull mix. Mixed with what, we have no idea. Rabbit. Jackalope. Jerboa maybe. It's one of life's greatest mysteries. He weighs about 65lbs so he isn't ridiculously big but he is high energy so it can sometimes seem like he's 100lbs. He is the happiest, dopiest, friendliest guy and all of that energy seems to come from pure, unbridled joy and enthusiasm for, like, everything. He loves people and would spend his days sitting there and staring at you adoringly with that big goofy smile, without a single thought behind his eyes, if he could. He knows his basics (sit, come, stay...sorta, etc) and he isn't terrible on a leash but he doesn't quite realize how strong he is so he can be a bit of a heavy puller. Another thing about Bam is that he likes to hoard his toys like a dragon with gold. His favorites are tennis balls and plushies though rope toys are not exempt from being added to his hoard. He's more interested in hoarding them than he is with playing with them but he will bounce around with a tennis ball like a goober. He's also, like, super nosy. He has a major case of FOMO. He needs to know what's happening on the other side of a door at all times like he's personally responsible for feeding the local gossip mill.Bam loves other dogs but, again, he's high energy so he'll need someone that can match that ridiculousness. We would prefer to place him with a female dog because he does seem to favor them. We're looking for a home without cats because he would most likely be way too much dog for most cats. Kids 12+ because small kids are small and Bam is not small. Bam is both the unstoppable force and the immovable object.Because he is a "restricted breed", you must own your own home or live in a home owned by a family member. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.

Story
Maddox has been here for 3 months days with no interest 😔We get it. He's a big scary pit bull....except not really....okay, fine, he's big and he's a pit bull but he's not scary. At least, not once you've seen him rolling around in snow or scratching his back on gravel or basically being the silliest of geese.Maddox is 7yo and he weighs about 72lbs. He's a big boy and, like most big boys go, he's a tender-hearted, sweet summer child, sensitive soul. His face ALWAYS looks like he got caught doing something he absolutely should not be doing even though he's never done a single thing wrong in his life...ever.A shy boy at first, once Maddox is pretty confident that you aren't going to eat him, he's content to just plop next to wherever you are and hang out. That's not to say that he doesn't get the zoomies because he definitely does (don't let his age fool you). He has some decent training under his belt and knows his basics (sit, stay, come, down, etc) and knows his name...and actually responds to it. We've been working with him on his leash manners and he's been picking up on it really quickly so he's less pully and more inclined to just stick by your side and let you take the lead (unless he really has to pee...which, you know, fair enough.)We're looking for an adult only home where Maddox can be the only animal. He isn't bad with other dogs but he doesn't really know how to act around them and he's...well, he's socially awkward. No aggression, just "mom, pick me up, I'm scared" energy. He honestly could be okay with the right female dog that will just mind her business and do her own thing and let him do his own thing. He's OBNOXIOUS when it comes to cats as in he has zero boundaries and he's "toddler that just discovered the word 'why'" levels of curious when it comes to them so...no cats, for their sake.Since he's a "restricted breed", you must own your own home or live in a home owned by a family member. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.
