Meet Dot - she can sure make a point! Dot is a sharpei mix that is full grown and currently weighs 31 pounds. We believe she is 1 to 2 years old and is amazingly sweet with humans!! Dot is great with other dogs in causal settings (like on a walk) but does have resource guarding issues with food and toys with other dogs. Given her resource guarding issues with other dogs we believe Dot should be in an home as an only dog or someone with experience/trained in resource guarding behavior. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Sabre, the third sibling of our two babies, Shar-pei, was found on the highway after one sibling was hit by a truck, and Sabre and momma were nowhere to be seen. After a few months, here she is, in the shelter, very pregnant and with not much time left for her to live. We didn't think twice and went to the shelter to save our 3rd missing sibling. No more than two days passed, and she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies. (Three puppies still await their home: Moonshine, Vodka, and Whiskey. You can find them on our Petfinder) Sabre was an incredible young mother, but now it's time for her to start enjoying life for herself. Sabre is estimated to be about one year old. She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed before going home. She is a very loving girl, very friendly with all the animals and the humans she met. She walks well on a leash. She seems to be house-trained. Foster says she is a great dog!! Meet Jinyu! Jinyu is a 6-year-old Sharpei-Beagle mix who weighs 40 pounds. Jinyu came from a puppy mill and is now on a journey to find her forever home. Despite her past, she has made remarkable progress over the past two months and is adjusting well to her new environment. Jinyu is house trained and has shown great improvement in her confidence. She is still a bit timid, especially around loud noises and sudden movements, but she is sweet and becoming more comfortable each day. She gets along well with kids, does well with other dogs, and continues to grow more trusting and relaxed.
