Story
Chico young, energetic and full of enthusiasm. He loves to run around and play. Needs a home that will keep up with his high energy. Preferably an owner that is also high energy and will go on long walks or park visits to allow Chico to release his energy. He is very smart, answers to his name and follows commands, sit, laydown, come and leave it. Is initially shy around humans but once he gets acquainted he is extremely friendly and playful. When shy or timid he shows no aggression. Age: 2.5 years Weight: 54 lbs Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative. Temperament: Good with dogs and probably older sturdy kids because of his energy level. Training: House-trained For questions about Chico, please email dtv.diyora@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.

Story
If you are looking for a snuggly girl who loves to give kisses, look no further than Musu! This 7-years old, 70-pound brindle-patched beauty has a soft coat and is very dog friendly! In the shelter she excelled in playgroups and she gets along famously with both of her foster brothers. She loves to lay with them when she isn't laying next to you. You will be wildly entertained with her crazy sleep positions. Musu is low-to-medium energy. After some play time outside where she can prance around and get in some good back scratches, she just wants to be with you. She can pull on leash, but it is manageable, and does not chase after squirrels or birds. She can get overstimulated when on leash but will sit when told to sit as a way to calm down. She has a few chew toys she likes, but overall does not care too much about toys. She would much rather have food! Her favorite part of the day is mealtime. Musu is housebroken and non-destructive. She will eventually settle down in a crate, but it is not her favorite. She prefers to be out and has free-roam in her foster house. Musu has been friendly and gentle with kids at events. However, she can jump when she gets overstimulated and would do best in a home without small children. You can see more pictures of Musu on Instagram @adopt_gargoyle_dcas Age: 7 years Weight: 72 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative Temperament: good with dogs, good with older kids (gentle with young kids but can jump up for attention). Training, House trained, crate trained, knows commands Sit and Wait. Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Ridgefield NJ, Rye NY, or Nanuet NY. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Buddy is the happiest, friendliest, cuddliest guy you'll find anywhere around. He ended up in a local shelter and was running out of time, but thanks to some tireless networking, Buddy ended up in our care. He's a compact guy, weighing in at 46 pounds, and already knows basic commands like sit and paw. He is crate and house trained. Buddy loves other dogs, cats, and kids. He would be a wonderful companion to someone who enjoys being outside for walks and hikes. Buddy has gotten the all-clear at the vet, is ready to travel, and would love to find his forever family very soon. If you're interested in welcoming me or any of my delightful Funny Farm companions into your home, kindly visit ffpets.org. There, you can find information about our Tennessee-based rescue, and gain insights into the adoption process! Buddy's adoption fee is $325, with an additional $200 required for northern transportation if needed. Local transportation can be provided at no cost within 100 miles of Jackson, TN. Please note that at the moment, this adorable pet is in the care of a foster home in Tennessee but will be lovingly transported to your location once the adoption process is successfully completed. For details on meeting locations and transport arrangements, simply click on the "Transport" tab at ffpets.org. We strongly encourage you to thoroughly review all transport-related information before submitting your adoption application.
