Story
💜ADOPT GEORGIE💜 Gerogie has been through so much in her two years & truly deserves the BEST HOME EVER!!! She was in so much pain when we first got her that she would just cry & whimper for hours . So heartbreaking what this little life has gone through so far. However, she has been in our care for the past six months & has transformed into one of the most beautiful girls. Georgie is a two year old, 55 pound shar pei mix, crate trained, housebroken, fully vetted, spayed & quite perfect. She does well with other dogs but can be "bossy" a bit but takes direction beautifully. She would thrive in a happy home with either a family or a single person.

Story
Meet Dot - she can sure make a point! Dot is a Shar Pei mix that is full grown and currently weighs 31 pounds. We believe she is 1 to 2 years old and is amazingly sweet with humans and dogs, we don't know about cats!! Dot is great with other dogs in causal settings like on a walk and group play! she does guard food items from other dogs, but not people! Dot is very food motivated and knows sit and to get in her crate or go to her bed. Her dog walker says she is a joy to be around! She is perfectly crate trained and has never had an accident in her crate with us. Her previous foster said she was perfectly housetrained and loves to snuggle. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Barkley is an approximately 1 year old Shar Pei mix. He is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccines and testing! Barkley is eligible for foster-to-adopt or adoption. Barkley is OK with cats, and LOVES to play with other dogs! We believe he would do well in a home with either or both! When he wants something, he can nip lightly at your ankles, and he is working on stopping that behavior, but for that reason, we do not suggest he go to a home with young children. His foster mom describes his temperament as good natured. She says he working on crate training now; he doesn’t like being crated and makes a fuss for five minutes or so, then is quiet. He is smart and eager to please. He does well walking on the leash with minimal pulling. With time and consistency, Shar Pei puppy Barkley will be the perfect addition to any home!
