Meet Sparkles, She is a 43 lb. 8+ years old., Spayed Shar -pei mix. She was found on Durling Dr. in Wadsworth. She was not wearing a collar and she is not microchipped. Sparkels appears to be housebroken She has limited vision we believe. If you know where this sweet old gal belongs please call our office at 330-725-9121 She is missing her family, she sits at the door of her kennel crying for them . The Dog Shelter's adoption fee is $64 (cash or check). All dogs come with DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, microchipped, a current year dog license, and a certificate to be spayed or neutered (The Dog Shelter pays for it). If it is an owner surrender dog, more vaccine information may be provided. Our hours are Monday thru Friday 10AM-12:30PM and 1PM-4PM and Saturdays 10AM to 2PM. You must be present to adopt and have a current approved adoption application.

Poor Jane came to us in need of an emergency surgery. She had a pyometra, which for those who don’t know, is an infection of the uterus that can happen in females who are not spayed. It is fatal if an emergency spay is not performed to remove the infection. It took her some time, but sweet Jane has finally made her recovery and is ready for her next adventure. She has discovered a passion for chasing balls around in the play yard……. and biting trees for some reason. She was attacked by 2 other dogs in the past, so she has a lot of reservations around other dogs and is said to be reactive with them. Since she has been here, we have not had any issues, but a home without other dogs may be ideal for her. However, it may not be out of the question if there are multiple meet and greets and slow introductions. We are not sure how she does with cats or children. She loves to give kisses though! Jane has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)

Meet Matcha aka matcha latte Age: estimated around 1-2 years old. Weight: 40 lbs. Breed: boxer mix. This sweet girl was found abandoned in a car with another dog and was dangerously underweight. Now Matcha is a healthy, medium sized dog and she’s learning what a good life looks like. Even with her rough start to life she’s still a very happy, loving, carefree pup. Matcha loves playing with other dogs and snuggling on the couch (especially under the blanket). She’s obsessed with all toys but anything with a squeaker is her favorite. Toys don’t last long with her so be prepared to clean up fluff but she will leave your shoes/pillows alone. We’re learning that Matcha does have some fear based reactivity when meeting new people but once you earn her trust she’s a total love bug so say goodbye to personal space. She tends to be more fearful of men which leads us to believe she may have previously been abused but if you give her some time, treats or a new toy she’ll eventually be your best friend. Matcha doesn’t love the vet although I can’t say I blame her. Previous appointments have required muzzling, calming meds and mild sedation but it’s possible she could overcome her fears with time. Matcha is crate trained and potty trained but she does think baby gates are her own personal hurdles to jump. Matcha would probably do best in a home with older children due to some of her puppy tendencies and she would like another dog but one isn’t required. If you feel capable of giving Matcha the time, patience and support needed along with a fraction of the love she’ll give you, please fill out an application to meet this sweet girl so she can finally have a loving family of her own.
