Hi! I’m Adeline, the original OG -“velvet hippo”. I’ve come a long way - I came to AAP with a skin condition, no hair and was very withdrawn but I’m doing so much better after some TLC! Still working on leash skills.   I love getting the zoomies outside but once inside I make a bee-line to the couch and am an instant couch potato, laying up against you snoring with zero shame.  I love a good squeaky ball and absolutely enjoy a good chew toy! I have no toy or food aggression. I’m the absolute sweetest girl who gets along well with other dogs and I’m cat friendly. Looking forward to meeting you and finding my forever home!   All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   January 4, 2026, 3:31 pm

Meet Zane! This handsome Shar Pei/ Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix is bursting with energy and enthusiasm. Zane absolutely loves to play and would thrive with an active family who enjoys staying on the move. He does well on walks and would be over the moon to have a large, secure yard where he can stretch his legs and run! Zane came to the shelter as a stray, but he's shown himself to be a social guy who appears to do well with some of our dogs. He does however, have a strong prey drive and would do best in a home without cats. With his playful personality and athletic build, Zane would be an excellent companion for someone looking for a fun, loyal and adventurous buddy!
