Story
Current Location: Gettysburg, PA Hello! My name is Olive! Olive is a calm, laid back sweetheart who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. She is gentle, quiet, and content to enjoy the simple things. A soft dog bed, a warm spot in front of the wood stove, and a peaceful home are her idea of perfection. She walks beautifully on a leash and prefers short, easy outings followed by long stretches of lounging. Olive is happy spending time in her kennel or curled up in her bed, watching the world go by. She does not need much exercise and would thrive in a quiet, low key household. Olive has been fostered with kids and other dogs and has been a lovely, steady companion to all. She is sweet with children, polite with dogs, and relaxed when meeting new people. At ten years old, this Shar Pei girl brings all the charm of her blonde folds and wrinkles, along with a wonderfully expressive face full of character. Olive is ready for a calm life of comfort and companionship. She would be a perfect match for someone looking for a peaceful, loving presence to share their home and their heart. "This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics"
