Current Location: Gettysburg, PA Hello! My name is Olive! Olive is a calm, laid back sweetheart who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. She is gentle, quiet, and content to enjoy the simple things. A soft dog bed, a warm spot in front of the wood stove, and a peaceful home are her idea of perfection. She walks beautifully on a leash and prefers short, easy outings followed by long stretches of lounging. Olive is happy spending time in her kennel or curled up in her bed, watching the world go by. She does not need much exercise and would thrive in a quiet, low key household. Olive has been fostered with kids and other dogs and has been a lovely, steady companion to all. She is sweet with children, polite with dogs, and relaxed when meeting new people. At ten years old, this Shar Pei girl brings all the charm of her blonde folds and wrinkles, along with a wonderfully expressive face full of character. Olive is ready for a calm life of comfort and companionship. She would be a perfect match for someone looking for a peaceful, loving presence to share their home and their heart. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Current Location: Hanover, PA Hello! My name is Skull Meet Skull: A Golden Boy Ready to Learn and Love This handsome Shar Pei mix is pure sunshine wrapped in a 45 pound package of enthusiasm and affection. With his gorgeous golden coat and soulful face, Skull is the kind of dog who immediately captures your heart. He's friendly, he's loving, and he's bursting with puppyish energy that tells us he's likely younger than his estimated 2 years, probably closer to 7 to 10 months old and still very much figuring out this whole "how to be a good dog" thing. Skull wants nothing more than to play and be loved, and boy, does he show it! He'll bounce up to greet you with joy, ready to engage and connect. The challenge? He hasn't quite learned yet that his size and exuberance need some boundaries. He's knocked over an 11 year old a couple of times in his excitement, not out of any aggression, but simply because he doesn't yet understand his own strength or appropriate play manners with humans. This sweet boy needs a dog savvy family who understands that puppies, especially larger ones, require consistent training and patience. Someone who can channel all that wonderful energy into positive behaviors and teach him how to interact gently with people. Due to his size and current exuberance, a home without small children would be best while he learns. Skull is ready to flourish with guidance. He's friendly, affectionate, and eager to please. He just needs someone who will help him become the amazing companion he's meant to be. If you have the experience and the heart to help this golden boy shine, Skull is ready to learn, grow, and love you with everything he's got.

Story
Meet Cherry, a lovable 5-year-old who is living proof that second chances are worth it! Once on the shelter`s kill list due to her emaciated condition and lack of space, Cherry has made a stunning recovery and is now a healthy 70-pound bundle of joy. Despite her size, she’s still a big puppy at heart, full of energy and affection.Cherry does great with other dogs, especially when introduced slowly, and she’s a fantastic companion who will always keep you smiling. While she’s a friendly and loving dog, she does have a strong instinct to chase smaller animals, so a cat-free home is a must.Cherry is housebroken, spayed, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, making her ready to move into her forever home.If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and devoted companion, Cherry might be the perfect match for you! Let her bring love, laughter, and a whole lot of happiness into your life. Will you be the one to give this amazing girl the loving home she truly deserves?Located in Houston, Texas. Story
Tank is a nearly 7-month-old pup (born May 29, 2025) who already weighs 53 lbs—and he’s just getting started. We believe he’s a Shar Pei / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and he’s expected to grow into a big, handsome guy around 80–90 lbs. For his size, Tank is actually pretty calm, but don’t be fooled—he’s still very much a puppy. Tank was surrendered by his owners by no fault of his own. He’s super sweet, affectionate, and social, but he’s also strong and a little mouthy, which means he’ll need a home committed to ongoing training, structure, and consistency. With his future size, good manners will be essential. Tank does well with other dogs, can be cat tested, and would be best with older children, as he may be a bit too much for the littlest family members. If you’re ready to invest time in training a big puppy who has all the potential to become an amazing adult dog, Tank is ready to grow up with you. Apply at lvpeaceablekingdom.info.
