Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tootsie – the gentle goldendoodle with a heart wrapped in mystery and a soul that’s just beginning to shine. With her soft, curly coat and expressive eyes, Tootsie looks like she stepped straight out of a storybook. But her tale isn’t all fairytales and sunshine—it’s one of quiet resilience and learning to trust again. You see, Tootsie didn’t come from a place where humans were kind or love came easy. She’s had to navigate her way through fear and uncertainty, slowly opening her heart one tiny step at a time. Tootsie’s not the dog who’s going to run up and smother you with kisses. In fact, she’d prefer to stay on the sidelines, observing the world with cautious curiosity. Her happy place? Right alongside her canine companions. Give her a few playful pups and a safe yard to roam, and you’ll witness her sparkle come to life—tail wagging, eyes gleaming, and a pep in her step you might’ve never imagined from this once-shy girl. She’s what we lovingly call a “dog’s dog.” She thrives in a pack and takes her social cues from her four-legged friends. If you have a confident, friendly dog at home, Tootsie will quietly attach herself and follow their lead—it’s how she’s learning that people might not be so scary after all. Tootsie will need: A securely fenced yard (4 feet or taller)—she’s quick on her feet and still learning the ropes of the big, wide world. A calm, consistent environment where there aren’t too many surprises. She’s not built for chaos or noise; she’s built for peace. A doggie friend (or two) to be her guide, playmate, and emotional support. A cat-free home—Tootsie has a strong prey drive, and little critters just seem too tempting. And most importantly, a patient and experienced adopter who understands that some dogs don’t fit the “cuddly lap dog” mold—and that’s okay. She may never be the dog who comes when you call or begs for belly rubs, but in her quiet presence, there’s a profound kind of beauty. With time, trust, and the right environment, Tootsie will continue to bloom. And for the special family that sees her for who she truly is—gentle, loyal, and full of untapped potential—she’ll be an unforgettable gift. Tootsie’s not for everyone. But if you're someone who finds joy in the quiet wins and believes every soul deserves a chance to heal, then Tootsie just might be your once-in-a-lifetime dog.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sunflower  — your daily dose of sunshine, served with extra wiggles and a side of chaos. Sunflower was found roaming busy streets like she was late for an important meeting. She ended up at a local animal shelter, but sadly no one came to claim this golden ray of happiness. That’s when we stepped in. We brought her in for her spay day and, after removing what felt like several pounds of dirt and matting, discovered an absolute gem underneath. The glow-up was real, folks. Sunflower is a young pup with excellent intentions and questionable body control. She truly wants to be polite, but her wiggly enthusiasm and mild anxiety sometimes take the wheel. She knows basic commands, listens closely, and works very hard to be the goodest girl — even when her legs are doing their own thing. Being left alone is not her favorite hobby. If given the chance, she may redecorate. We’ve been working hard on crate training and she’s making good progress, but she will need to be crated when left alone, currently for no more than about 5 hours. She will voice her opinions when you leave, so due to her anxiety, shared walls are not recommended unless you enjoy apologizing to neighbors with baked goods. At night, she sleeps peacefully on a bed right next to us like the loyal little shadow she is. When it comes to playtime, Sunflower plays BIG. If she thinks another dog wants to play, she goes all in — full enthusiasm, no brakes. She would do best with another dog who matches her same “pizzazz for life,” or with a human who is fully committed to meeting her exercise needs. She has a lot of young-dog energy and thrives on structure, routine, and training (and probably snacks).  She probably would not like the companion of a feline friend....she sometimes thinks my chi is a playtoy. Leashes are… confusing. Sunflower is still figuring those out, so a secure, fenced-in yard would be ideal while she continues her leash education. She also has very long legs and doesn’t always realize how tall she is, which means she occasionally bumps into furniture, walls, and the concept of personal space. Because of her enthusiastic puppy antics, young children should be supervised to prevent accidental bowling-pin situations. Sunflower is affectionate, joyful, hilarious, and full of potential. With patience, consistency, and a sense of humor, she’ll grow into an amazing companion — and she promises to keep life interesting. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
