NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION:
Say hello to sweet “Ellie” who stands at 21” tall which is the smaller sized Standard Poodle (Moyen). This apricot girl is about 5 years old and weighs a healthy 45 pounds.
Ellie has been loved and cared for all her life. Sadly, her first owner died suddenly and unexpectedly. The family brought all her dogs to a Shelter in Duluth where Ellie and another Standard Poodle (from the same home) were adopted together.
That family soon realized two large dogs were to much for them and the Poodles were returned.... only to be quickly adopted by another loving family. But shortly after that, the husband was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer, and Ellie came to us sad, very confused and unsure about life.
However, she quickly became familiar with our home and followed us all around to see what we were doing. This is a quiet “Velcro” Poodle who just loves people!
She will muzzle your hand so you will pet her, will jump onto your lap for a snuggle and will climb onto your bed to cozy up with you at night!
Ellie has always been with other dogs, so she is perfectly fine and best friends with all our Poodles including the Poodle wanna be “Rainey”.
Ellie greatly enjoys running in our securely fenced back yard trying to chase all the many squirrels we have in our area! The squirrels are now gathering this bumper crop of acorns for winter. Oh yea, Ellie’s hunting instincts are VERY strong.
She loves her food, treats, toys, being with people, going for a car ride and especially enjoys going for our daily 2-mile walk. Then she can see more squirrels!
Ellie is a perfect lady in our home (housetrained) and allowed to freely roam our home even while we are gone. She is VERY smart; will come, sit and stay when told to do so.
Your big warm hugs and loving attention make Ellie very happy.
*A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be required as Ellie has always had one and will not relieve herself while on a leash.
*Ellie has ALWAYS been with other Standard Poodles. She would be best with another large, easy-going dog to keep her company or have someone at home with her.
*You must be physically able to handle a Standard Poodle.
*Preference will be given to a family with past Poodle experience.
BUT PLEASE:
*NO cats or puppies.
*NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare her and me).
*NO young children.
*Like most rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota.
Yes. This is a very rare opportunity for the right family as we all know, a good Standard Poodle is hard to find. Why Doodle when you can Poodle?
Ellie has been Vet checked healthy, spayed, teeth cleaned, is up to date on her vaccinations, worming and has been microchipped. Her heartworm / Lymes / Ehrlich / Anaplasmosis (4DX) test was positive for Lymes.
She HAD BEEN TREATED with Doxycycline and received the Lymes vaccination. She is now on a heartworm preventative, flea and tick control and is doing just fine.
As with all the other Standard Poodles we have adopted, Hugo’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family her adoption fee is $600.00 which includes $41.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax.
Also included is her leash, collar, harness, a bag of quality dog food, a 10-gallon dog food container, treats, a cute toy box, her large soft dog bed and lots of good information to help your Poodle’s adoption move forward on the right paw!
Again, Ellie is a very nice, smart and loving Standard Poodle girl who wants and truly deserves a loving “forevermore” home.
