Story
I’m reaching out to ask for help sharing the story of Loki, a 7-year-old pit bull in Los Angeles who has been our foster for the past year and has truly become family. Loki is gentle, joyful, and endlessly loving. He adores people (especially kids), does great with small dogs, and when he’s happy he’ll flop onto his back, tummy up, wiggling and flailing in pure delight. He’s the kind of dog who makes everyone fall in love without even trying. Due to an unavoidable move, we can no longer foster him. When Loki goes back to the shelter (his shelter is Agora), he’s repeatedly placed on the red list due to capacity, and we’re doing everything we can to prevent that outcome. We’re not asking for placement through your organization — only for help sharing Loki: with your internal foster/adopter network on social media, if possible or via any trusted referrals

Story
Meet Hannah, a sweet and affectionate girl who’s been part of our family for the past five years. She adores cuddling with our kids, basking in the sun, rolling on her back, and napping by my side while I work. However, Hannah now needs a new home where she can thrive. When we adopted her, she was a greeter dog at the South LA Shelter, known for being great with kids, dogs, and cats. She even earned an A+ at doggy daycare. Unfortunately, our family faced a life-altering event when our young son was diagnosed with cancer, forcing us to move in with my elderly parents. Hannah, being too much for them to handle, spent the next year and a half in foster care. She did best with an experienced dog trainer and two large dogs during this time. Since coming home in 2020, we've discovered that Hannah can be selective about other dogs and new people. She’s had successful playdates at her trainer’s facility but doesn’t get along with our other dog, leading to two fights in the past three years. She also gets anxious around unexpected visitors, occasionally nipping but never leaving a puncture. With proper introductions on a leash, she’s been sweet and friendly. We’ve tried everything—training, baby gates, and changing our routines—but it's clear Hannah needs a home with a pit-savvy owner who understands her behavior. Recently, she slipped out the door at a friend’s house and was injured in a scuffle with another dog. Her trainer believes she can succeed in the right environment and has generously offered to board her for a couple of weeks while we search for her forever home. Hannah is a loving dog who needs structure and a firm, experienced owner. We’ve poured years of effort into her because of her incredible heart, and now we’re asking for help in finding her a safe and loving home.
