Story
Meet Scout 🐾💙, a handsome and incredibly smart boy who’s ready to find his perfect match! This treat-motivated superstar loves learning new things and truly shines when he has a job to do. Whether it’s long walks, exciting agility courses, engaging sniff work, or cruising along on car rides, Scout is always up for an adventure. After a day of fun, he’s more than happy to curl up on a cozy bed and enjoy a well-deserved nap. Scout is a very sweet dog who enjoys playing with other dogs outside of the home. However, when it comes to his living space, he prefers to keep his castle all to himself and would do best as the only pet in the household. Scout is also looking for a home without children under 16. While we’re not sure of the reason, we respect his comfort level and want to set him up for success. Scout will need multiple meet-and-greets to ensure a smooth transition into his new home. He is currently on anxiety medication, which he will need to continue, and he thrives with patient, understanding adopters who will support his needs. In return, Scout will give you loyalty, companionship, and a lifetime of love. If you’re looking for a clever, devoted partner for both adventures and quiet evenings in, Scout may just be your perfect match. - Around 5 years 8 months old - Currently just under 75lbs - Good with dogs outside the home since he prefers his things to stay HIS - Prefers kids 16+ - Adoption fee: $175 *sponsored* This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Story
Rex is a resilient, affectionate boy with a heart as big as his incredible spirit 💛🐾 Born with congenital megaesophagus, Rex has learned that a little extra care just means a little extra love. He needs to be fed upright in a Bailey chair so his meals can safely reach his stomach — and he handles his special routine like an absolute champ. He thrives on a high-quality, nutrient-dense diet (currently The Farmer’s Dog), which has been working wonderfully for him. Rex will need lifelong management, including his upright feeding routine, possible medications, and regular veterinary checkups to help him feel his very best. While megaesophagus can shorten a dog’s lifespan, Rex refuses to let it define him or dull his joy. He greets each day with enthusiasm, a wagging tail, and an eagerness to be close to his people. He is a loving, social sweetheart who adores attention, companionship, and being part of the action. Rex is looking for a dedicated, compassionate adopter who can continue his care and give him the warm, supportive home he truly deserves. In return, he’ll give you unwavering love, resilience that inspires, and a bond that is nothing short of extraordinary. - Around 3 years 2 months old - Currently 71lbs - Adoption fee: $175 This dog is currently housed at our shelter.
