Story
Hi, I`m Janie!I`m about 2 years old, and while my story started out a little rough, I`m hoping the next chapter is the best one yet. I was found out on my own as a stray, but now I`m safe and waiting for a family to give me the forever home I`ve been dreaming about. If there`s one thing you should know about me, it`s that I absolutely love people. Being close to my favorite humans is my happy place. Whether we`re going for a car ride, sharing a pup cup, working on training, or just relaxing together, I`m happiest when I`m by your side. I love being brushed, soaking up affection, and leaning in close for pets. Honestly, I never seem to get tired of being loved on!I`m still a young girl with lots of enthusiasm, so sometimes I get a little jumpy or mouthy when I`m excited. I don`t mean any harm—I`m just having fun and haven`t quite learned all my manners yet. With some guidance, consistency, and patience, I`m sure I`ll blossom into an incredible companion. I already enjoy training and would love a family that can help me keep learning and growing. I find agility activities pretty fun too!I`m looking for a home where I can be the only animal, and I`d do best with experienced owners and teens or adults who understand that I still need a little direction. In return, I promise to give you all the love, loyalty, and companionship I have to offer.Life in the shelter has been hard on me. The noise and stress are starting to wear me down, and lately I`ve been feeling pretty sad. I`m having trouble eating, and it`s becoming harder to keep my spirits up while I wait. More than anything, I just want a place where I can relax, feel safe, and know that I belong. A forever home would mean the world to me, but even a foster home could help me decompress and remind me what it feels like to be loved. If you`ve been looking for a sweet, affectionate best friend who will stick by your side through life`s adventures, I hope you`ll come meet me. I can`t wait to find the person who`s been waiting for me too.Love,JanieIf this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Story
Meechy is a 3-year-old Pit Bull with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and one very important love in life... cheese! This handsome guy recently came to the shelter after his owner, who cared deeply for him, had to make the difficult decision to surrender him due to personal hardships. It`s a big change for Meechy, and he`s taking his time adjusting to all the new sights, sounds, and people.Right now, Meechy is a little shy and we`re still getting to know the real him. Each day he gains a bit more confidence, especially when tasty cheese is involved! We know there`s a wonderful dog waiting to shine as he settles in.Because Meechy likes to build trust at his own pace, he may do best with multiple meet-and-greets so everyone has a chance to get comfortable. We think the right family will see just how special this sweet boy is.If you have a little patience, a kind heart, and maybe a pocket full of cheese, Meechy could be the loyal best friend you`ve been waiting for. Come meet him and help this handsome boy write his next happy chapter! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Story
Hi, I`m Penelope. I may not be the kind of girl who runs up to greet every new person I meet, but if you`re willing to give me a little time, I promise I`ll show you just how special it feels to earn the trust of a shy dog.The people who know me best will tell you that underneath my timid exterior is a sweet, affectionate pup who loves to snuggle and simply be close to the people I love. Once I feel safe, my personality blossoms, and there`s nothing I enjoy more than making my people smile. When I first arrived at the shelter as a stray, the world felt like a very scary place. I wasn`t familiar with walking on a leash, and the busy shelter environment was overwhelming. I was so frightened that I barely wanted to eat. Thankfully, I was given the chance to move into a foster home, and that`s where everyone started to see the real me.It turns out I`m a pretty smart cookie! I learned my daily routine quickly, mastered `sit` in no time, and I`m always excited to learn something new. I love positive encouragement and genuinely want to make my people proud. I`m still polishing my house manners and crate training, but I`m eager to keep learning with a family that`s patient and consistent. One thing that gives me confidence is having another dog around. I absolutely love my canine friends, and they help me feel brave when I`m unsure about something new. Because of that, I`d really like a home with another friendly dog who can help show me that the world is full of good things.I`ve also lived with young children and done well, but I`ll still need a family that understands I like to take introductions at my own pace. My perfect family will have previous experience with dogs and understand that trust isn`t something you rush, it`s something you build together.Because new people and places can still make me nervous, my family will need to meet me several times before I go home so we can get to know each other. I`ll also need a family that`s mindful of my tendency to bolt if I`m frightened, helping me stay safe while my confidence continues to grow. The best things in life are worth waiting for, and I think I`m one of them. Watching a shy dog discover that she`s finally safe is a pretty incredible experience. Every little victory becomes something to celebrate- the first tail wag, the first cuddle, the first time I look at you with complete trust. Those moments mean everything to dogs like me.If you`re the kin
