Story
UPDATE- Akoya is the perfect angel when left at home alone. She curls up in her comfortable safe spot until your return. She loves to play, cuddle, hug and kiss. She is better paired with only dogs her size or bigger when playing. Only mid to late teens and adults only, as she tends to play rough, but is quick to apologize if she gets too rough. She is small for her hybrid breed and is super fast and strong. She would be in agility classes to see were she is best at course competition because she loves to learn and enjoys going to school. She is one who will win purses! She needs a caregiver with a big backyard for her to run and explore. She does not like to be confined but will put herself in time out if she thinks she did wrong. She is trained to potty inside but prefers to go out. She comes with all her pet belongings. Reach out to me to find out. (Serious inquires only, no show apps discarded)

Story
Daisy Girl has been with our shelter since July 2025. She was surrendered at no fault of her own and in need of some medical intervention! Her skin issues are now under control, her weight at time of intake was 108.4 and Daisy is happy to let you know she is coming in at a nice slim 75.6 pounds these days. Her weight loss has helped her mobility and attitude greatly and enjoys her walks and outside time even more now! She was also found to have low thyroid and will be on medication lifelong with regular check ins with your vet to make sure dosing is correct.Since being with us Daisy has been friends with various canines watching each one go to their forever home while she waits. She has learned to play and interact a bit roughly with other dogs. We do however recommend Daisy as the only dog but if you have active playful canines that can match Daisy`s vibe please talk with our kennel staff and we can discuss about a meet and greet. We recommend children 10 and up as she has never lived with young kids but has done well in meeting older kids while here at the shelter. Additionally, Daisy Girl can sometimes get a little mouthy when excited, so she will require all residents in the home to visit prior to adoption. While shelter life has helped Daisy in some ways it can not replace a home with a family. We know that Daisy would make someone a great companion if only given the chance. If you would like to meet with Daisy or have more questions please speak with our kennel team!

Meet Seven!Age: 5-8 yearsWeight: 55 lbsPersonality: Friendly, active, independentOther pets: Best as the only petSeven is a handsome, light-brown boy with the most adorable ears-one usually stands tall while the other sometimes flops over. It's impossible not to smile when you see him! He's the perfect mix of independence and affection. Seven loves being near his people, enjoys his walks and treats, and is always up for some playtime. Just don't expect to get that tennis ball back easily-he loves them that much!Seven has great kennel manners and is generally quiet. On walks, he's a star-he started out walking almost loose-leash and now does great with a harness, which shows how comfortable he's become with gentle handling. He often checks in for attention and treats (and he's learning to take those a little more gently!).This sweet, easygoing guy prefers to be your one and only. While he's not a fan of other dogs, he passes them calmly on walks without any fuss.Seven is currently waiting in our large dog adoption kennel-sometimes in a back run-so if you don't spot him right away, please ask to meet him. He's worth it! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 63.8 Age: 6yrs 8mths 0wks

Melon! Adult (5-8 years old) male pit mix, 60 pounds, active, friendly, social.Fun fun fun....I was warned about this super friendly boy before I met him! I was going to fall in love right away I was warned. And, yep! I did just that! Melon is a super lively and energetic boy who arrived at VBACAC as a stray a few years ago and now, once more, he was picked up as a stray again. We don't understand because this boy is awesome! He needs to find his final forever home. His personality does not disappoint! He is ready to take you on as a playmate from the start. He is ready to run and play, right from the start. Melon is sweet and social and we know he's got so much more to share with you! We don't know exactly how he feels about other dogs so bring yours in to meet him! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 50
