Please call WCHS to set up an appointment if you are interested in meeting with her.**· Intake Reason: surrendered, owner was unable to care forKnown with:· Cats: lived with 2 cats, and liked to play with them· Dogs: went to dog parks previously, does well in WCHS playgroups; is in foster with multiple dogs· Kids: exposed to various ages· Personality: AffectionateGreetings, my name is Ziba and I am 40-pounds of special. My name means ‘beautiful' and I think that is very fitting because I am enchanting. My world is very quiet because I am deaf. Since I cannot hear commands, people have been using hand signals to communicate with me; I know the signal for ‘sit' and ‘good girl'. Because I could not hear you calling after me, I will be counting on you to keep me safe and out of trouble. I know that some folks who have a deaf pooch in the family use a vibration collar (no shock, please) to let the dog know you want their attention. I also appreciate it when humans do not sneak up on me or surprise me. In my previous home I had the luxury of roaming about freely when I was alone and also got to share my person's bed at night; that was fabulous. When I needed to go outside, I would sit by the door. When I first come into my new home it would be wise to watch me carefully and also give me plenty of opportunities to get outside to use the facilities. I must confess I am still working on becoming 100% when it comes to house-training. Lots of yummy treats and praise should help me develop that skill. I am a tolerant gal but I have a tendency to get overstimulated, so it would be great if we could work on some settle exercises. I am a smart lass and think it is important to keep my brain busy and engaged so I have been happy with all the enrichment I get at the shelter. I do enjoy romping with other dogs and am sort of a rough player but prefer not to share my toys with them; a girl has got to draw the line somewhere. I enjoy car rides and would love to be your sidekick as we go on many adventures together. I am friendly and outgoing but do prefer a slow and polite introduction to folks I do not know. Give me a few minutes and a couple tasty tidbits and soon we will be BFFs. I hope you stop by to meet me in person; I think it is lovely to increase my circle of friends and we could have a magnificent life together.#2
