QUICK FACTS Name: Miller Age: 3 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shiba & Jindo mix Color: Beige & Cream Weight: 10kg / 22lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I’m not sure how I ended up all alone in the city pound, but I was placed on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn’t enough space for dogs like me. Despite that scary chapter, I never lost my gentle, loving heart—and now I’m just hoping to find the forever family who will give me the safe, happy life I’ve been waiting for.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues I had to undergo surgery to remove my right eye, but my left eye has good vision and no issues.   MY PERSONALITY Hi! I’m Miller. I’m not sure how my right eye got injured, but when I was rescued, it was in a very bad shape and I needed surgery to have it removed. Even with just my left eye, I don’t let it slow me down or dampen my spirit! I’m a sweet, gentle boy who truly loves people. I’m naturally a little shy at first, but with patience I warm up—and volunteers and staff can always see that I want to interact, even if I hesitate in the beginning. I’m getting braver every day, learning to trust more, and showing more of my affectionate, friendly side as I grow confident.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be shy in the beginning, but I’ll gently take treats from your hand. After I warm up, I’m comfortable with pets and gentle affection. Once trust is established, I can be picked up. I’m a sweet boy who enjoys people, and as I grow more confident and settled in my new home, I’ll become a loyal shadow. · With Dogs: I’m pretty indifferent with other dogs. I can get overwhelmed by high-energy pups and prefer to do my own thing, calmly observing the environment. If another dog is rude or pushy, I simply walk away from the drama and avoid conflict. ·With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to find the best match!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level—I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m just as happy to snuggle up indoors afterward.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk well on leash and follow my handler’s lead nicely. I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs—in fact, I have a big appetite and love treats, so I’m eager to please and learn. I’m confident I’ll pick up training quickly. I’m very quiet and rarely bark, and I know how to rest calmly in my kennel. I do struggle with car rides, as I can get motion sickness. I potty both indoors (on pee pads) and outdoors, though I may mark a little when I’m adjusting to a new environment.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that understands my rough past and is patient with me throughout and continue to provide me with basic training and socialization. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever. Ideally, a family experienced with Shibas and primitive breeds. The only dog in the household.   SPECIAL NOTES Don’t let my shyness fool you—I’m a sweet boy who really does like people. I just need a little time at first to show my affectionate side. I’m improving every day, and I’m confident that in a loving home I’ll fully come out of my shell and express myself. I wag my tail and show interest in people, even if I hesitate at the start. I love treats and I’m very food-motivated, so I’m eager to learn and please. I’m considered to be a level 3 rescue dog, meaning I will take at least a week to open up and feel more settled in a new environment. I must wear my martingale collar at all times and double-leashed to my harness and collar with a GPS tracker when outside to keep me safe.   Miller's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2595121##

Story
Hi… my name is Gaon 🐕 I’m a 4-year-old male Shiba × Jindo mix, and I weigh about 18kg. I was once placed on a shelter’s euthanasia list. Even after I was rescued, no one came for me for a very long time. The shelter became the only home I knew—far longer than any dog should have to endure. When people approach me, I don’t rush forward with excitement. Instead, I watch carefully. I’m afraid you might leave. Afraid I might be alone again. So I open my heart slowly, cautiously. But behind that hesitation is a heart that longs deeply to love a person. I simply never learned how to show it. I went so long without being chosen, without being loved, that I don’t always know how to ask for affection. That’s why I struggle when attention is shared with other dogs. It’s not jealousy—it’s more like a quiet plea: “Please don’t leave me this time.” That’s why I’m hoping for an only-dog home, where I can finally feel secure. When it’s just you and me, I’m a completely different dog. I’ll meet your eyes, lean gently against you, and offer shy little gestures of affection. Once I give my heart, I give it fully— with the deep, unwavering loyalty that Jindo dogs are known for. Home life may feel unfamiliar to me at first. I’ll need time, patience, and understanding. But if you’re willing to walk that slow beginning with me, I promise you this: I will become a dog who makes one person my whole world. A once-in-a-lifetime companion who loves quietly, deeply, and forever. Somewhere in a shelter, I’m still waiting— waiting for the one person who will call my name and mean it for life.

Story
Hi… my name is Maesil 🍃 I’m a 1-year-old Shiba × Jindo mix girl, about 10kg — small, bright, and just beginning my real life. I was rescued from a dog meat farm. Since the day I was born, I knew metal bars and loud, unfamiliar noises before I ever knew gentle hands. I spent more time enduring than learning, more time surviving than living. So when we first meet, I might be just a little cautious. But it’s not fear that fills my heart. It’s more like I’m softly asking, “Is this okay? Are you safe?” With one treat and one kind voice, my question melts away. I’ll carefully step closer… and before you know it, my tail will be wagging just for you. --- Once I open up, I’m actually very affectionate. I love sitting close beside my person, looking into your eyes, and asking for attention in the sweetest ways. It almost feels like I instinctively know how to love — I just needed the chance to show it. I get along very well with other dogs my age. I enjoy playing and being part of a group. My energy is bright and healthy, and I carry a natural cheerfulness inside me. And walks? I absolutely love them. When I step outside, the whole world feels magical. Every sound, every breeze, every scent on the ground — it’s all new and fascinating. I haven’t been out in the world for very long, so everything is a discovery. The street noises, passing people, the wind brushing my fur… it’s my first time experiencing it all. --- That also means home life is new to me — living inside a house, learning potty routines, understanding daily rhythms, spending time alone calmly, and learning the rules of living with people. No one has had the chance to teach me these things yet. So I will need patience. I will need guidance. I will need someone who teaches me slowly from the very beginning. But please don’t worry — I truly want to learn. I listen. I pay attention. I try. If you guide me with love instead of scolding, with patience instead of rushing, I promise I will grow into a stable and trustworthy companion. --- I’m still young, and I’ve only just begun my “ordinary” life. I’m waiting to become someone’s joy — someone’s walking partner, someone who shares the start and end of each day. Will you be the family who teaches me all my firsts? Will you fill my world with love instead of fear? If you walk beside me from the beginning, I will stay beside you for the rest of my life. 🐾🤍

QUICK FACTS Name: Nurungji Age: About 2 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shiba – Jindo Mix Color: Brown and White Weight: 16kg / 35lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued with my family after we were found wandering on the dangerous streets. Now I’m safe, grown up with love and care, and ready to find a forever family of my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Nurungji, a gentle and thoughtful soul who just needs a little time to open my heart. When we first meet, I may seem shy, so the greatest gift you can give me is patience and space. If you move slowly and let me come to you, I promise I will. I’m well-mannered in many ways—I can get in and out of the car by myself, rest calmly in a kennel, and walk beautifully whether it’s a busy city street or a quiet forest trail. After a fun walk, I love to pause, sniff the air, and enjoy peaceful moments in nature. I may be a cautious dog, but beneath that is a kind, quiet heart waiting to trust deeply. With patience, understanding, and love, I’ll become a loyal and truly special companion. If you’re someone who can walk slowly with me and enjoy the quiet beauty of growing trust together, I’ll be waiting for you.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a bit cautious around new people. I’ll happily take treats, but I usually need a little more time before I feel comfortable. Once I open up, I can be held in your arms. With patience and understanding, I’ll become a loyal and loving companion. · With Dogs: I’m a very friendly dog! I love walking up to both familiar and new dogs to say hello and invite them to play with me. I’m generally friendly with dogs of all sizes — bigger dogs, dogs around my size, and even smaller pups. Dogs with very high energy can feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I tend to do better with calmer companions. But, I tend to rely on other dogs and feel more secure when I have a dog friend around. I’m more relaxed and confident when I’m not alone. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have low energy level – I enjoy a peaceful and relaxed lifestyle. I’m happiest when I can rest quietly by your side. I do enjoy going outside, but after a bit of fresh air and light activity, I’m quick to settle down and relax again.I have lots of experience on walks, so I don’t pull on the leash and I follow my person nicely. I’m the perfect companion if you’re looking for a calm, easygoing pup to share quiet moments with.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food — not from people and not from other dogs. I’m very easygoing at mealtime.I’m generally a very quiet friend and rarely bark. When I’m placed in a kennel, I stay calm and settle down nicely.I know how to hop in and out of the car all by myself!I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outside. I’m flexible and can adjust to your routine.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I tend to rely on other dogs and feel more secure when I have a dog friend around. I’m more relaxed and confident when I’m not alone. Sudden approaches, being picked up, or hands coming over my head can make me uncomfortable, so I feel safest with gentle, predictable movements. Because of this, I would do best in a calm home that can match my pace—rather than a busy environment with fast movements.   Nurungji's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2689912##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Jigu  Age: 4 years old  Gender: Female Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Shiba Jindo Mix  Color: Brown  Weight: 18kg    All About MeShe was a dog waiting for euthanasia at a shelter in Cheongju, Korea. But thanks to a warm helping hand, she was rescued and given a new chance at life.Jigu is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, but she is otherwise in good health and adjusting well. She can be a little shy at first and needs time to open up to new people, but she will gently accept treats, even from strangers. Once she warms up she becomes affectionate and enjoys being petted. She tends to bond faster with women and may need a little more time with men. She hasn’t had much experience around young children, so she may need slow and gentle introductions. She also doesn’t like being picked up with arms under her belly, as it makes her feel uncomfortable.   My PersonalityJigu is a calm and smart dog with a balanced energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities, but after a good walk, she’s happy to rest quietly indoors. She’s independent but shows deep affection once trust is built. While she doesn’t guard food from people, she may be cautious if another dog approaches during mealtime so she need own time when she is eating. She also may bark to express her needs or when encountering strangers, but she settles well once she feels secure. She tends to get jealous and would do best as the only pet in the home.   Social SkillsWith people – She needs time to open up but becomes affectionate and enjoys being touched. With children – she may feel a bit unfamiliar with young children and don’t have much experience. With other dogs – She may react if another dog is confrontational, so the first meeting should be supervised and slow. She has little jalouse and prefers to be the only dog in the household. With cats – she hasn't lived with cats, and there are no observed responses.   On My Walks‍Jigu has lots of walking experience and walks very well on a leash without pulling. She enjoys her outdoor time and likes exploring calmly by your side. She prefers to go potty outdoors, though she’s capable of doing so indoors if needed.   Life at HomeJigu is quiet and well behaved. She settles down nicely in a kennel and enjoys having a peaceful space to relax. She doesn’t guard food from people and appreciates a calm mealtime without interruptions. Jigu would thrive in a gentle, stable home where she can adjust at her own pace. With patience and love, she’ll open her heart fully and form a deep connection with her family.   Special NotesFor those who offer her time and understanding, Jigu gives back the kind of trust and love that’s truly special, quiet, loyal, and full of warmth.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Jigu's YouTube Playlist ##2458345##

Story
Hi… I’m Bamtori 💛 I’m a 1 year and 6 months old boy, a Shiba–Jindo mix… but everyone gets surprised when they meet me because I’m only about 5kg! I may sound like a big-dog mix, but I’m actually tiny, soft, and very… very cute (that’s what they tell me!). I was rescued when I was still young, just before my time ran out. But don’t worry—I didn’t learn to be afraid of people. Instead, I grew up full of curiosity and bright, happy energy. When I meet someone new, I don’t hide. I come right up, wagging my tail like, “Hi! Are you my friend?” I just really love people. I also get along well with other dogs! I’m gentle, friendly, and I like making new friends. Even though I’m small, I fit right in with everyone—and I think that makes me a little special 😊 When I get close to you, I become extra affectionate. I’ll come sit beside you, lean my tiny body on you, and look into your eyes like I’m trying to say something important… (What I’m really saying is: “I like you. A lot.”) I might be small, but my heart is very big. Living in a home might be new for me, so I’ll need to learn things like potty training and daily routines. But I hope you’ll see those moments as part of growing together with me. I’m ready to love, to learn, and to be part of a family. All I need now… is someone who will hold me close, teach me gently, and stay with me forever. Will you be my family? 💛
