Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET MS. ELLORI…a little black/white, 13 lb, 8-9 yr old ShiPoo, who hails from the East Valley Shelter. No question that the shelter offered a better life than her former home….and that’s saying something. This little girl was definitely neglected and is blind as a result. Her eyes are scarred from lack of care — from dry eye that was never treated. Her teeth look pretty good, but she is very nervous. Not aggressive, she just needs to know what you are doing or she shakes like a leaf! Once in your arms, she settles down and snuggles with you. And she gives kisses! Ellori needs a home that understands blind dogs and/or just wants a special needs dog to love and nuture. She would be perfectly happy just being on someone’s lap all day. She isn’t doing a lot, sleeping, doesn’t have an interest in toys but enjoys her food. She likes strolling on a walk and takes her time sniffing and smelling the grass. She really didn’t walk on a leash when she arrived, but she is getting the hang of it if you meander around leisurely. Aside from her blindness, Ellori has a heart murmur with normal rhythm, she is quiet and gets along with other dogs. Basically she is independent and hopefully will blossom once she realizes how blessed she is! It’s hard to understand how any family can let this happen to their child 🙁 Will you be Ellori’s hero and give her the life she deserves through her golden years? She deserves better than she has received in her life 🙁 Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
Noel was found outside a 7-Eleven in Inglewood with no microchip, alone, scared, and covered in fleas. A Good Samaritan took her in and searched for an owner. After her 10-day stray hold was complete, it had become clear that Noel had been dumped. Shelter Hope heard her story and welcomed her with open arms. Thanks to the Peewee Fund, founded by a generous donor in honor of senior dogs, Shelter Hope was able to take her in and fund any medical she needed. After her vet visit and a much needed grooming, Noel is feeling much more comfortable! This tiny 8-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighs only 8 lbs. She’s a sweet, affectionate girl who finds comfort being close to her person and would love to be someone’s quiet little shadow. Noel enjoys pets, cuddles, and cozy lap time, though she’s a bit sensitive about being lifted off the ground. She does well with other dogs and is good on a leash too! Noel has an eye ulcer and will need daily eye medication in both eyes for life. Now fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Noel is ready for a patient, loving home where she can relax, feel safe, and be adored just as she deserves! More from her foster: Day one of fostering Noel made herself right at home. She is sweet, calm and loves to cuddle every chance she gets. She is great around other dogs. She loves long walks. She kinda just does her own thing and watches from a distance when my two dogs play with each other. Nothing startles her other than when somebody coughs, and she’ll just get up and walk away. Applying her eye drops is easy, she is laidback and doesn’t fight. Noel is the perfect dog for somebody who wants a calm and cuddly companion! ------ Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Step 1) Application Step 2) Phone Interview Step 3) Appointment Shelter Hope is operating by appointment only. Be ready to adopt: If selected, our rescue counselor will contact you to schedule a phone interview. Please monitor your email and spam folder for our message. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. More on our process: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt. The process can take several days. Thank you for your patience!
