History: Wrenlee is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! Crates are not for her — after spending too much of her life likely confined, she’s earned the right to be your baby now. Weighing around 15 pounds and estimated to be about 3 and a half years old, Bitsy is soaking up the comfort of a calm, safe home—something she may be experiencing for the first time. She’s incredibly well-mannered and has had perfect potty habits from the start, always going outside when carried to the yard. While she’s still gaining confidence, Bitsy is already showing signs of trust, happily resting in her cozy bed and allowing gentle handling, even during bath time. She’s not quite sure what to make of toys or treats just yet, but every day she’s learning and observing. Bitsy gets along with calm, respectful dogs, though she would likely prefer a peaceful home where she can be the center of someone’s quiet world or share space with a gentle canine companion. She hasn’t had much experience with leashes or exploring new environments, so a fenced yard is a must while she continues to build confidence. She’s the kind of dog who watches life from a safe perch—usually the couch—like a quiet spectator trying to learn the rules of a game everyone else already knows. Under her soft curls is a tender heart that desperately wants to trust, but needs time, calm, and consistency before she can take those steps. Right now, Honolulu is a professional observer. She spends most of her day lying in one cozy spot, taking careful notes on the household’s comings and goings. She likes other polite, gentle dogs who don’t invade her personal bubble—bonus points if they’re calm and confident, the kind who can show her that the world isn’t nearly as scary as it seems. Loud noises, sudden movement, busy environments, or any hint of commotion send her scurrying for safety, so her perfect home will be peaceful, predictable, and very patient. Because she is lightning-fast and an escape artist of Olympic caliber, she requires a fully secure 6-foot fenced yard, double leashing, and extremely careful handling. She has slipped out of harnesses and collars before, so her adopter must truly understand the seriousness of keeping her safe. She freezes on leash and is not yet comfortable walking, so yard time is currently her best way to get fresh air. Despite her fears, Honolulu has shown glimmers of what she may become someday. At 14 pounds and 13 inches tall, he’s the perfect size for lap cuddles—and once he trusts you, he’ll happily claim that spot! Rigel is low-to-moderate energy, low-shedding, and very big on love once he feels safe. Rigel is still learning that the world isn’t so scary. He’s shy and skittish at first, especially around men or anyone standing nearby. He’s most comfortable with women and prefers calm, quiet environments where he can build trust at his own pace. But if you’re patient, Rigel will reward you tenfold with affection, snuggles, and a sweet little paw to your hand asking for more love. He especially enjoys lounging in a cozy dog bed, following his person around the house, and curling up next to you in bed (he’s a pro with the dog ramp!). Rigel gets along beautifully with other respectful dogs and even cats. He’s starting to play with his foster siblings and would thrive in a home with another confident, friendly dog to show him the ropes. He’s not fully potty trained yet, and leash walks are still a work in progress, so a fenced yard is a must—especially since he’s nervous about doorways and can be a bit of a flight risk.
