Story
We got the call about an abanded family of little dogs here in Mexico. We went to the abandoned property and found a Mom and Dad in terrible shape and dead babies. Fred was a real trooper. He had to have all his fur cut off due to the matted insect infested hair and skin infections. He is now a loving funny little guy looking for love.  ##2050257##

Story
Meet Oliver My name is Oliver. I am an eight-pound neutered male Shih Tzu mix who is one and a half years old. I am being cared for by an ARRF foster while I look for my forever home. Please call Brande with inquiries about Oliver at (619) 636-1866. ARRF does not have a shelter and all of our animals are in foster homes. I was not properly cared for before my foster mom took me in and I suffered from malnutrition, but now that I’m in this wonderful foster home, I have become a healthy, happy, and playful little boy! I am neutered, up-to-date on all my shots, house-trained, and have a microchip. I sleep in a crate all night long and I am learning new things like sit and stay. I love to play and I love to go for walks. I walk very well on a leash. I would like a home with someone who would like to play with me and teach me new things. I am a loving little boy, and as you can see from my pictures, I’m pretty cute! For more information, please call or text Brande at (619) 636-1866. Oliver is being fostered in the East County of San Diego.

Story
My name is Suzi Q. I am a young senior of approximately eight years and stylish figure of approximately 9 pounds. I have two delicate little front teeth, but I am a very good eater. I will be truly beautiful when I look more like my Shih Tzu self as my fur needs to grow out. I am otherwise very healthy and quiet and love to be with my human as much as possible. I get along with the other dogs in the household. I do need a little more instruction on going out to the right potty spot, but I am very cooperative. I might prefer another senior like myself so that I can get all the cuddles!

Story
Age: 8 years old Gender: Male Breed: Shih Tzu mix Weight: 24 lbs Personality: Yuki is wary of strangers but will warm up to people with a bit of chicken and patience on the human's side. Yuki is a mellow guy who loves to nap next to you and lounge in the sun. Yuki is content to sleep the day away near his person but is also up for playing with stuffed animals and fetching! Yuki does well on leash but is quick to warn you that strangers are nearby. He has some barrier frustration, but is generally very easy going once he has warmed up to you. He loves going for car rides and is a great passenger, although drive thru cashiers may be startled at his sudden alerting. Yuki does well with other dogs. He is polite enough to leave old grumpy dogs alone but will play with young energetic pups. He does not resource guard his person, but does show some food guarding tendencies. It would be safest to feed separately. Needs a home with no children or older children who will treat him with respect and give him space as needed. If you have some chicken and just two days of patience, you will be rewarded with so much love. Yuki is an easy dog, he is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He is generally a gentle, mellow guy with great house manners. He has a case of stranger danger, but can be redirected when he is reacting. Yuki loves hanging out with his human, but does well when left alone. He will sleep until you return and greet you wholeheartedly. Yuki takes a little bit to warm up to his person, but once you earn his trust, you will find that no one else will look at you with as much love in their eyes as Yuki.  Education: Good with bathroom and leash training Favorite Activities: Napping, cuddling, chewing tags and eyeballs off stuffed animals, fetch, sun bathing. He's also extremely dog friendly Looking for: A sweet person or family who can give him space, be patient with him and respect/ advocate for his boundaries while he learns to trust humans. Ideally older and respectful kids are ok, and so are dogs. Adoption Fee: $ 350 ##1592807##

Story
Meet Finn! Finn entered Riverside County Animal Services on April 30 as a stray in terrible, neglected shape. He was so matted that it impaired his movement, so he was shaved under sedation for his comfort. Due to Finn's condition, the shelter reached out to rescues, and on May 7, he became a Frosted Face. Finn is estimated to be 12 years old, and he weighs 11 lbs. When he first arrived, his eyes were enlarged and painful. Following a full evaluation by our on-site veterinary team, Finn began a regimen of multiple eye drops to treat ulcers and glaucoma. Unfortunately, the condition of his eyes didn't improve and were causing him pain, so on June 13, both of Finn's eyes were removed. Thankfully, Finn recovered from surgery while on a two-week Frosted Fling, getting extra love, care, and attention in the comforts of a home. Just what he needed! Finn's Fling Mom shared this wonderful update: "Finn is fantastic! So very sweet and gentle and just never makes a peep. He mapped his way around the apartment with ease. He is completely healed up now and doing well. Finn is a real foodie. He has a great appetite. When he smells food in the kitchen, he gets extremely excited and wiggly. He needs a gentle guiding hand to calm him as he put the plate down in front of him or else he will jump in with both paws! He is not food aggressive, just excited. He does well with three small meals per day. And as long as he can find the water bowl, if it's kept in the same place, he's a very good water drinker. Finn loves to sleep. He is an expert. Basically his day involves waking up in the morning and going outside to do his business and then coming back to eat and then he lays down to snooze. Then he wakes up and he wants to go outside then he comes back in and maybe he toddle around the house a little bit or he lets me hold him and kiss on him. Then he's ready for another nap. Finn would really love to have a little yard that he could just toddle around in and smell all the smells, as he does not like being led on a leash. Finn does love going on car rides. I have a soft cozy blanket in the front passenger seat just for him. The only animals that Finn has come in contact with are my own dog and cat. I now have another foster in the home who is a little larger than him, and they get along well. But Finn is not a dog buddy buddy. He's very independent. He likes to sleep by himself. Finn is very people friendly. He doesn't mind being picked up, and he loves to be held, cuddled, and kissed by me. Finn is a lovely little boy and still has so much life to live and so much love to give!" Finn has come so far from the neglected, matted boy that entered the shelter with eyes that were causing him great pain. He is now ready for his forever home. Might it be with you?
