Story
How this pet arrived:Gizmo was brought in by a community member on March 27, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:At 14 pounds, Gizmo may be small in size, but his heart is huge. This pup is a gentle, loving soul who's been through more than his fair share - but he's ready for peace, comfort and a home full of love. He's incredibly sweet and affectionate once he feels safe, so he'll thrive with someone who respects his space and lets him come to you on his terms. Regular grooming will be his secret weapon to staying this dapper - because when you look this good, upkeep is mandatory! Gizmo has a firm policy on personal space - he's a proud independent gentleman, not a plush toy to be scooped up, and he prefers to keep his paws on the ground. Gizmo also has some separation anxiety, so he would do best in a home where someone is around most (if not all) of the day. He's not a fan of long solo stretches and would benefit from a calm, consistent environment. Stability and companionship mean the world to him, and he deserves a calm, loving home where he can finally relax, take a spot next to you on the couch and feel truly safe. He has been able to co-exist with other, small, gentle dogs, but would also do well as your one and only. Ready to meet your next VIP (Very Important Pup)? Ask about adopting today! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 15 Age: 11yrs 6mths 3wks

Story
Meet Diesel! 12-year-old Diesel came to Frosted Faces after his mom developed serious health issues and could no longer care for him. He is very sweet, enjoys going for walks and to the beach, and is a true-blue companion. Diesel currently lives with a Foster family, and we are learning what he is like in a home. After three days together, his Foster Dad shared: "Diesel is a total love bug. His previous owners must have spoiled him, so we are doing the same! Diesel loves the food I make for our dogs He loves to play. He is vocal (talks) and will let you know if he wants up on the couch or in your lap. Diesel hasn't had any accidents in the house and does all his business outside. He loves sleeping in bed with his humans." Stay tuned for the next update! Diesel is still looking for a forever home where he can spend his golden years as a beloved family member. Might that be with you? Story
Meet Nina! 13-year-old Nina was found as a stray several times and taken to San Diego Humane Society, and her dad always came for her. Sadly, he recently surrendered Nina to the shelter because he was in the hospital in poor health and no longer able to care for her. We welcomed Nina as a Frosted Face on June 4th, and all she had been through left her feeling understandably scared. Thankfully, going on two-week Frosted Fling, gave Nina time to decompress in a calm home environment, and her true personality is shining through! Her Fling Mom shares: "It's always rewarding to watch a shy, scared foster come out of her shell. Nina has a sweet, fun personality! She still hunkers down when you approach her, but she loves pets and will often jump up to bounce around you playfully. Nina enjoys lap time and pets throughout the day, she loves belly rubs, too. When my brother visited, Nina would go right to him and dance playfully around him. At bedtime, she'd follow me and my dogs into the bedroom and settle to sleep in a dog bed for the night. Nina is very mellow, super sweet, and comes when called. This sweetie pie has no separation anxiety, sleeps through the night, has no accidents in the house. She loves to greet you in the morning or upon your return home with cute little barks. She doesn't bark much otherwise and has been interacting well with my pack of small dogs." Be sure to watch the videos of Nina frolicking happily in the yard and house while on her fling and enjoying belly rubs! Nina is currently on a second fling while she waits for a forever family of her own. Might it be you? To meet Nina, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Meet Sirena! Sirena came to us from San Diego Humane Society. This poor girl entered the shelter with a filthy matted coat containing leaves, twigs, and feces. Initially, the shelter staff thought she didn't have a right eye, only to discover it was sealed shut! Thankfully, Sirena is all cleaned up and feeling SO much better. We don't know how she came to be in such sad shape, but one things is certain: as a Frosted Face, her future is bright. She will never be alone and uncared for again. Sirena is estimated to be 12 years old, weighs just under 8 lbs., and is very sweet. Stay tuned for updates on what we learn about Sirena! To meet Sirena, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
