Meet Ellie a 1 year old shit-zu mix and weighs 16 pounds. She's sweet and just wants to follow you and have you sit and rub her but also loves to play and have fun. She needs a home that enjoys being active. She's crate trained and 99% potty trained. She needs leash training. She's very curious and happy. Treat motivated. Best with kid's 10 and up. Do not know about cats. Small dog friendly. Does not do well with large dogs. Hates baths.  She does shed a bit. Skipper was born Sept 2023. Adorable and friendly! he should be under 15 lbs as an adult. he loves everyone including dogs and children! Surrendered with sibling. They became too old to sell to a store. They were surrendered to rescue for that reason. Needs work on housetraining. They are currently in boarding in the midwest. Transport is available to the NE or south. Adoption fee is 950.00 and includes transport.    Thank you for choosing rescue! We are volunteers with other commitments in addition to rescue. Our time is very limited. Therefore, we request a  $20.00  donation through paypal in order to process and expedite your application. This shows that you are truly interested in adoption. Pebbles and Ella are bonded “sisters” Pebbles is an 8-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing 14 pounds and Ella is a 7-year-old Pug weighing approximately 18 pounds. Pebbles recently had surgery to remove bladder stones and she has to be on urinary prescription food which she actually loves! They are both super friendly and affectionate. They are totally bonded, when Pebbles was recovering from surgery her sister Ella was so despondent. As soon as they were together again, their tails were wagging in a happy reunion. They do get along with the other dogs but have not been cat or child-tested. The adoption donation for the pair is $550 which includes their spay, vaccinations and microchip. They are heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lola is a happy little girl who is a bit cautious when first meeting people. She does not like to be separated from her people and is not a fan of crates.  She is good with the other dogs, but lacks personal space awareness and does not always read the cues well as to when other dogs have had enough.  She is smart and will learn, but supervision is needed with her and other dogs while she learns, as she can get pretty rough when playing.Lola, while really sweet and loving, is also very enthusiastic  to get other dogs to play with her, including jumping on them.   Because she is so persistent in her efforts to play, she is not a good match for dogs that are more elderly and her size or smaller.She is really cute in how she carries things around and likes chewing bones. She is a barker - very loud and constant - if she is separated from you or crated. She would not be appropriate for an apartment-shared wall setting.   Lola likes to cuddle or sit on your lap/next to you.   She has a fantastic little smile!    She requires a lot of activity and interaction with people and/or other dogs.   She loves being outside and bounds in the yard like a rabbit.    She likes balls or a bone outside with her from the house. She requires consistent grooming - both at the groomer and coming in from outside. Fur easily collects leaves, squigglies, stickies, etc. and if not removed, they easily turn into mats.   If it is wet out, expect to clean paws/lower body afterwards! Lola is very fast, very busy and needs an agile and active owner to keep up.
