Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. Kiwi was born 5/30/25. She is sweet and sassy, a perfect little girl! She is friendly and social with everyone. She likes playing with her toys. She is great with older children. I obtained Bailey from a co-worker back in 2018. She was abused by 2 putts very sad and malnutrition. Bailey has been a great dog. Recently she screams when she is hungry or if she needs to go outside. She needs a home that she can go outside when needed and lots of love. Un her previous home the cat scratched her eyes and at this point in life she’s almost completely blind. Last vet visit dr said she will loose her vision. She lives file minon. Also eats hard food. It’s been very hard to groom her due to my illness. She loves to cuddle.

He loves walks, but doesn’t like to be outside for too long. he loves to play, gets along with other animals, but doesn’t like to be annoyed by them. he’s potty trained, knows how to communicate his needs & wants really well, he loves cuddles & rubs. he’s a barker, he cannot be without a leash if being walked because he will run, he needs to be walked around the area so he can know where he’s at & how to get back to the house if he does run. I am looking for someone who’s able to attend to him as much as possible, able to have him as an inside dog, can keep up with his maintenance as soon as it needs to be done, & someone that can love him unconditionally!
