Story
DOB 4-30-2025 DeChen is looking for his new home and Mom! He's a beautiful Shih Tzu with a good personality, loves to play and gets along with others. DeChen is complete on all medical, up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. This boy will come with all his medical papers. His adoption fee is 900.00, his transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they are the best and deliver to East Coast every other week. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
No, he's not a bobble head doll. We understand how the mistake could be made and agree that if he were a bobble head doll, he'd be a very cute one and we'd all need some version of the Arlo doll sitting on our dashboard and cheering us up with a wobble of his head whenever we get stuck in traffic. As it is, Arlo is a dog and unfortunately there's only one of him - which means only one family will be lucky enough to take him home and call him theirs. Arlo's slightly goofy fluffy-head-skinny-body groom came about as a result of severe matting that needed sedation and careful work by our vet team to resolve. He is a dog that will need regular grooming to prevent any future issues. The good news is that Arlo is looking and feeling better than ever and he's rocking this new haircut like it's the newest style. Arlo is very sweet, friendly, and playful with his people. He loves to roll around on the turf, romp about with his toys, and fall onto his back at the slightest hint that a belly rub might come his way. He can be a little shy around strangers and so would do best in an adult only home without too many visitors. Arlo hasn't had experience with other animals before, but he's up for meeting an resident dogs to see if it's a good fit for him. Arlo is in our special adoption program which sets adopters up for success with pre and post adoption counseling. If you are interested in Arlo, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email Claire at cshamgochian@parl.org to schedule a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Joey 💙. Rhode Island adoption only and discussion needed. Applications must be filled out on walkerswayrescue.com Joey is a sweet senior Shih Tzu with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Calm, easygoing, and content with life's simple pleasures, Joey is the definition of a low-maintenance companion. His favorite things? A cozy bed, a good meal, some fresh air, and spending time with his beloved brother, Duke. The two are closely bonded and are looking for a home where they can stay together. They've shared a lifetime of love and companionship, and we'd love to see them continue their journey side by side. Joey is happiest when life moves at a relaxed pace. He's perfectly content to snooze the afternoon away, enjoy a leisurely stroll outside, and soak up all the love his family has to offer. His calm, affectionate nature makes him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a quiet, loyal best friend. If you're ready to open your heart to two deserving senior boys, Joey and Duke will reward you with unconditional love, gentle companionship, and the kind of gratitude only a senior dog can give. Sometimes the best things in life come with a little gray on their faces.
