An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Otis Ray! Otis Ray is approximately 10 months old, 13 lbs currently and he likely has some Shih-Tzu and Chihuahua in his mix! In his foster home, he is working hard on his house-training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with teenagers, cats, and other dogs. His foster says, `Otis Ray loves camping, trail walking, sniffing, and RV life. He loves the tent, too. He gets treats for doing a “good job” and is so smart, will aim to please. He takes a few weeks to pick out his people but after that he is so loving with his favorite pats to the head. He likes sleeping with his people but will sleep in a crate, also. He is so proud of his new doggie door accomplishment and is always ready for that “good job”! Patience is needed but he is almost trained.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on July 18th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Meet Rocky: A Loyal Companion Looking for His Perfect MatchRocky is a dog with a big heart and a strong sense of what he likes and dislikes. He thrives in a calm and structured environment where he can be the center of attention as an only pet. While living with multiple dogs has been stressful for him, Rocky has shown great potential to be an incredible companion in the right home.Rocky’s behavior highlights his need for a patient and understanding owner who respects his boundaries. He communicates clearly when he feels uncomfortable, and with proper awareness, his reactions are entirely manageable. Story
Dublin is a sweet and social young pup with a heart of gold. He came from a backyard breeding situation along with nine other dogs, but you'd never guess it by the way he loves.Although Dublin can be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and is affectionate once he feels safe. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is currently living in a foster home with several canine companions. He’s especially fond of running and romping around the yard with them.He also peacefully coexists with the resident cat, showing no interest—though it's worth noting the cat is calm and doesn't run, which likely helps.Children can be overwhelming for Dublin—he’s not aggressive, but he will retreat and hide when he feels unsure. Because of this, Dublin would thrive in a home with adults or older children who can respect his boundaries.Dublin is crate-trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and doesn’t bark unnecessarily. He’s doing good with house training and is getting close to being fully reliable, but will need continued support and patience. He’s eager to learn and very treat-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for his needed basic manners training. A moderately active home that understands the needs of a dog adjusting to the safe and loving home he deserves would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and gentle companion who’s ready to blossom with a little love and structure, Dublin may be your perfect match.Name: DublinBreed: Shih Tzu/HavaneseSex: MaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 15.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: Yes!Good with Cats: Yes, dog savvyAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:     Texas  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
