IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET HAZY:  Meet Hazy: The Sweetest, Snuggliest Introvert Looking for Her Quiet Forever Hello, my name is Hazy. I’m about 2 years and 7 months old, and my journey hasn’t been an easy one. I was found as a stray in Detroit, scared, confused, and covered in painful mats. I didn’t know kindness, and the world felt very big and loud. My time was almost up until my angels at Furever Tails Animal Rescue saved me. Now, I’m safe in a foster home, and I’m learning what love feels like. I’m ready to find my person—my true forever home. Here’s what you should know about me: My Personality:I am a certified introvert and a gentle soul. I’m not a social butterfly; I’m more of a "stay-at-home-and-snuggle" kind of girl. Loud noises, busy places, and lots of strangers are too much for my nervous heart. I dream of a calm, low-key home where the vibe is peaceful. My Friends: I can politely coexist with other calm, mellow dogs my size and with cats, as long as they respect my space (I’m not much for playdates). But I don’t need animal siblings—I would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all your attention. My Home Needs:Because I startle easily, I *must* have a securely fully fenced yard. I should never be left outside alone or tethered. Social walks are scary for me, so my outdoor time will be best in my own safe yard. My People: I am currently living with a wonderful, patient foster family with two women and two rescue-savvy teens. I do best with calm, predictable adults or older teens who understand shy dogs. A home without lots of visitors or chaotic energy is my ideal. The Most Important Thing: I am *not a "turn-key" dog*. I will need time, immense patience, and quiet consistency to learn to trust. I am not recommended for first-time dog owners. But I promise you this: once I know I am safe with you, my love is boundless. I will become your most loyal shadow, your bed-snuggling expert, and your quiet, devoted companion. I am looking for a hero—not someone who wants a party, but someone who offers a peaceful harbor. Someone who sees that a shy, timid dog has a huge capacity for love waiting to bloom. If you have a quiet heart and a quiet home, and you’re ready to commit to earning the trust of a sweet, sensitive soul… then I might be your girl. Could you be my safe place? Interested in giving Hazy her happily ever after? Please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you shortly. Share to help Hazy find her perfect, patient match! Story
Meet Remi – A Gentle Heart Ready to Bloom Remi is a 1-year-old, 11-pound Shih Tzu/Poodle mix (best guess) whose story is a reminder that sometimes all a dog needs is a little patience, kindness, and love to truly shine. Found as a stray on the streets of Detroit, Remi was never reclaimed and found himself in an overcrowded shelter—a frightening place for a sensitive little dog. Unsure of his surroundings and overwhelmed by the noise and commotion, Remi kept to himself. To make matters worse, his coat was matted and overgrown. Thankfully, with some much-needed TLC, careful grooming, and plenty of compassion, we were able to save his beautiful, soft, curly coat. Today, Remi is beginning to discover that the world isn't such a scary place. He has done wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and has shown no concerns around cats. Because he can be a bit insecure and hesitant with loud noises or busy environments, we believe he would thrive in a calmer home with older, dog-savvy children who understand that trust takes time and gentle encouragement. Remi has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners, is crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He's also food motivated, making continued training both rewarding and enjoyable. While he enjoys getting out for walks, he is not a suitable candidate for a tether, tie-out or invisible fence system. Like all of our dogs, Remi deserves the safety, companionship, and freedom that come with being a cherished member of the family. Remi enjoys attention from the people he trusts and is learning that love and kindness are things he can count on. Watching him come out of his shell has been incredibly rewarding, and we know his forever family will have the privilege of seeing his sweet personality blossom even more. Because of his Shih Tzu/Poodle heritage, Remi will require regular professional grooming to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and free from mats. Remi has already overcome so much. Now all that's missing is a family willing to give him the time, patience, and unconditional love he deserves. In return, you'll gain a loyal little companion whose gratitude is written in every tail wag and every quiet cuddle. Could you be the one to show Remi that he's finally home? He's ready to find the family that will love him furever. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
I purchased two shih-chon mixed puppies; they are brothers and were the last of their litter. I obtained them from a breeder in Indiana, MI. They have always been together. They are 3 years old. They need a loving home with a lot of attention. I work a lot and don't have the time or energy to give them the time they deserve. They don't travel well, they easily get car sick. They have been that way since day one. I have a groomer come to my home because of the car sickness. They eat a special food called (4 Health) Salmon and potato. Their food is purchased from Tractor Supply. They love carrots for snacks.
