Story
Bubbles and her sister Buttercup were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd last year so they are now a year old. Bubbles has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs about 9 pounds and is full grown now. Bubbles is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Bubbles is a very friendly and a super snuggler! She and Buttercup are very bonded and we would very much like to get them a home together. They are so funny together! They play and run zoomies around the house. They would do well with older children and we have not had them around cats but we feel like she would be fine with proper introduction. If you would like to give this super affectionate love bug along with her sister, their forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Meet Dracula — the perfectly pint-sized mix of sweet and spicy, looking for someone who gets him. Don’t be fooled by the name — he’s not out for blood, just love. Once he feels safe, this quirky little guy will melt right into you, showing his softer, snuggly side. Dracula is housebroken, well-mannered, and happiest as the star of the show — no other pets, please. He does best in a calm, low-traffic home without children, where he can build trust at his own pace. He may be cautious at first and a little nippy when nervous, but with patience and kindness, he transforms into the most loyal little shadow you’ll ever have. About Dracula: -Potty trained and well-behaved at home -Prefers to be the only dog -Needs a calm, child-free home -Shy at first but deeply affectionate once he bonds -Loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and cozy snuggles Dracula’s a tiny dog with a huge heart — he just needs someone patient enough to help him shine. Once he chooses you, he’s yours for life. Adoption is $350, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET HAZY:  Meet Hazy: The Sweetest, Snuggliest Introvert Looking for Her Quiet Forever   Hello, my name is Hazy. I’m about 2 years and 7 months old, and my journey hasn’t been an easy one. I was found as a stray in Detroit, scared, confused, and covered in painful mats. I didn’t know kindness, and the world felt very big and loud. My time was almost up until my angels at Furever Tails Animal Rescue saved me.   Now, I’m safe in a foster home, and I’m learning what love feels like. I’m ready to find my person—my true forever home.   Here’s what you should know about me:   My Personality: I am a certified introvert and a gentle soul. I’m not a social butterfly; I’m more of a "stay-at-home-and-snuggle" kind of girl. Loud noises, busy places, and lots of strangers are too much for my nervous heart. I dream of a calm, low-key home where the vibe is peaceful.   My Friends:  I can politely coexist with other calm, mellow dogs my size and with cats, as long as they respect my space (I’m not much for playdates). But I don’t need animal siblings—I would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all your attention.   My Home Needs: Because I startle easily, I *must* have a securely fully fenced yard. I should never be left outside alone or tethered. Social walks are scary for me, so my outdoor time will be best in my own safe yard.   My People:  I am currently living with a wonderful, patient foster family with two women and two rescue-savvy teens. I do best with calm, predictable adults or older teens who understand shy dogs. A home without lots of visitors or chaotic energy is my ideal.   The Most Important Thing:  I am *not a "turn-key" dog*. I will need time, immense patience, and quiet consistency to learn to trust. I am not recommended for first-time dog owners. But I promise you this: once I know I am safe with you, my love is boundless. I will become your most loyal shadow, your bed-snuggling expert, and your quiet, devoted companion.   I am looking for a hero—not someone who wants a party, but someone who offers a peaceful harbor. Someone who sees that a shy, timid dog has a huge capacity for love waiting to bloom.   If you have a quiet heart and a quiet home, and you’re ready to commit to earning the trust of a sweet, sensitive soul… then I might be your girl.   Could you be my safe place?   Interested in giving Hazy her happily ever after?   Please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you shortly.   Share to help Hazy find her perfect, patient match!   #AdoptDontShop  #RescueDog  #IntrovertDog  #SpecialNeedsDog  #FureverTails  #DetroitRescue  #DiamondInTheRough  #PatientHomeNeeded HAZY is: Current on age appropriate vaccinations.DewormedReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayed ADOPTION FEE: Sponsored but a donation is always appreciated    FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. Story
Meet Sophia! Sophia is a beautiful 6-year-old, 11lb purebred AKC Shih Tzu looking for the patient and loving family she has always deserved. Coming from a breeder who was finally shut down after years of irresponsible breeding practices, Sophia spent her life in a home with 29 dogs and had very little exposure to the outside world or life as a cherished companion animal. Because of her past, Sophia can initially be shy and reserved when adjusting to new people and environments. However, her social skills have come a long way in foster care, and once she feels comfortable, her sweet and happy personality truly begins to shine. She has a quiet, gentle demeanor and enjoys being near her people in a calm and peaceful environment. Sophia is seeking a quieter home with adults only or older, dog-savvy children who can respect her sensitive nature and allow her the time she needs to settle in and build trust. She has blossomed tremendously with patience, routine, and consistency, and her foster family has loved watching her confidence continue to grow. Having never really learned leash skills prior to rescue, Sophia will REQUIRE a secure physical fenced yard for her safety. She is not a good fit for tethering or invisible fencing, and extra care should always be taken while she continues learning that the world can be a safe place. Sophia does well with other dogs and seems to enjoy the comfort of canine companionship. She also does not mind cats. She has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners and is learning more every day about what it means to simply be loved and spoiled as part of a family. As a Shih Tzu, Sophia will require regular grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. Most of all, Sophia is looking for a family willing to give her the love, patience, and kindness she missed out on for so many years. In return, she will reward you with quiet companionship, loyalty, and a heart full of gratitude. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
