You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Theo is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu mix who weighs approximately 13 pounds. He is a sweet, snuggly lap log who loves to be near his humans! He would love a family that lets him sleep with them overnight. He is a gentle soul in search of a family to love him in his retirement years.   Theo is very close to being potty-trained when kept on a schedule, but he does have occasional potty accidents. He will need a family who is patient with him while he continues to build consistency with housetraining. Theo does not enjoy spending time in his kennel. He is very vocal when in there, but does well with free roam, so there is really no reason to kennel him. Theo is also vocal when there are new people in his space and he likes to alert his foster family when they have visitors. For this reason, shared walls might not be the best fit for his forever home. His fur will require regular grooming, but what handsome old man doesn't deserve a good spa day?!?    Theo has luxating patellas in both of his knees. The vet does not recommend surgical intervention at this time, but it is something to watch in the future. Wolfie is a 7 year old Shih Tzu with a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. This sensitive boy came into rescue after his previous home was not the right fit. He takes his “lap protector” duties very seriously and would thrive in a calm, adult only home with one special person to call his own who is home often to keep him company. Wolfie did not do well with other male in your face dogs but does well with calm small dogs his size who are not reactive. He is high energy, and another dog will help him burn some energy. He relies on the companionship, confidence, and comfort that come from having a friendly resident dog. We are requiring that his adopter already have a small, easygoing dog who enjoys canine company. Wolfie also absolutely requires a securely fenced yard. He loves to run and burn off energy outdoors and having a safe and enclosed space to do that is very important for his wellbeing. He is more active than many people expect from a Shih Tzu and regular outdoor play helps keep him happy and confident. He will run away if off leash and is hard to catch. He has made great progress with leash training and enjoys walks and little adventures. Wolfie can be a bit anxious at first but once he feels safe his affectionate and devoted nature shines. His favorite place is curled up on your lap soaking up love and attention. If you have a friendly small dog at home, a fully fenced yard, and the desire for a loyal companion who wants to stay by your side, Wolfie could be your perfect match. Meet Fabio! Fabio is a sweet 7-year-old male Shih Tzu with a gentle cautious soul. He is a retired breeding dog so the world is new for him. This little guy loves nothing more than snuggling on your lap and soaking up all the affection he can get. Once he warms up, he’ll happily rest his head on your shoulder for hugs—one of his favorite ways to show love. Fabio gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, so he would thrive in a home with another friendly pup. He’s a bit shy at first and likes to sit back and watch the world, but with patience and kindness he quickly becomes a loyal, cuddly companion. He isn’t a fan of cold weather or snow and prefers to spend most of his time indoors. Fabio uses a potty pad reliably in the house, and although he goes outside when encouraged, he likes to come right back in. He hasn’t mastered steps yet, but we are working on it. He would need a securely fenced-in yard or secure outdoor area to help keep him safe. He is not leash trained yet but working on it. Fabio is looking for a calm, loving home where he can feel secure, snuggle up with his people, and enjoy the company of another dog. He could do well with calm older children. If you’re hoping for a gentle, affectionate little buddy Fabio might be the perfect match. I am getting neutered and a dental cleaning 12/5 Friday. I can be adopted once I have healed from surgery. Meet Chance, a fun-loving and affectionate pup who’s ready to find his forever family! Chance absolutely loves people and is happiest when he’s cuddled up next to you. He’s smart and eager to please, already knowing a few tricks and always ready to learn more—especially if treats are involved! Chance enjoys his daily walks (he’s got a great 3–4 walk-a-day routine, but can be reactive when he sees other dogs) and loves spending time outside soaking up the sun and watching the birds. He also has a playful side and can’t resist a good game of chase with rabbits or frogs in the yard. Chance may be picky on his doggie housemates.
