Because Bella loves to run and explore, she would enjoy a secure area in which to do so under supervision. 4. A family who is home much of the day and will include her in their daily activities. A family who will understand, be patient, and continue helping Bella with her house training. She is doing well while in foster care, but it is not guaranteed that she will be housetrained when she is adopted. 7. Adoptive family should live within 45 miles of the Twin City area so Bella’s foster mom can schedule a home visit. 8. Adoptive family must commit to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion of Minnesota held in September each year. Bella will be available for adoption near the end of November due to necessary upcoming surgeries. But applications for adoption are being accepted now. She is scheduled to be spayed November 11th. She is currently in heat, so her spay had to be postponed for two months for medical safety. At the time of her spay she will also have her left cherry eye repaired. as a red, swollen mass on the lower eyelid near the nose resembling a cherry. Sadie is 5 years old and weighs 11 lbs. She is white and red in color. Sadie is up to date on vaccines and is spayed and just recently had a dental and just finished all her meds.   She has been dealing with alopecia, but it is under control and now has no hair loss.  You will need to continue giving her Omega 3 and a healthy diet.  If there’s a reoccurrence of hair loss she may need to see a vet dermatologist. Sadie is a sweet little girl.  She’s very loving and scared at the same time as she came from a mill.  She snuggles up to her foster at bed time and needs to be close. She gets along with her pups and isn’t aggressive at all.   Her personality is just now coming out, she gets so excited when she sees her foster  and when it’s time to eat and at snack time.   When she wags her tail her whole bottom wiggles, so cute.     She will follow you around when outside and keep a close eye on you.  Sadie isn’t fully house trained, she loves to mark, but since her spay, it has reduced.  In the house we still use doggy diapers.  She’s still learning the word NO.  More training will be required, along with leash training.   She loves to be called a good girl. I'm around 3years old which puts me at a fabulous age...out of the puppy destructive stage but still active and playful. I am super sweet but am a tad bit on the shy side at first meet. Once I warm up to you I will for sure shower you with all the love I've got stored up! I am super affectionate in my foster home. I love snuggling with you on the couch and I love anything soft. Your lap, a fluffy blanket, a pillow, a doggie bed if I have to, but I'd rather be closer to you. I also do great with the other pups at my foster home and I mostly just leave the resident kitty alone. I come in at about 9lbs which is also a pawsomely perfect size for, well yes, everything. Neighborhood strolls, mild concrete nature trails, co-piloting errand runs, supervising yard work, you name it I'm the gal for the task at hand!! I was born with my back legs deformed but I can scoot around in the house pretty darn well!! I don't even realize I'm not like the others. I can even go up and down stairs. I just can't jump up on the couch but I will sit there and stare at you until you lift me up! I'm still just one of the sweetest girls you'll have the pleasure to meet. My foster mom got me a wheelchair and I went for my very first walk. I stopped and looked at this and stopped to smell that... with a smile on my face the whole time!! I will need regular grooming to keep me looking this spectacular! A few weekly brushings and maybe a trip to the groomer every so often is a small price for this much gorgeousness in one compact package!! Unfortunately my previous home didn't do that and I had to be shaved the whole way as my coat was super matted. But not to worry, it does grow back!! I will make a great companion for a family that is looking for a sweet lil girl that will be your BFF, your lil sidekick in all your life's adventures from mundane daily to weekend exciting!!! I may be a senior, but let me tell you, I’ve still got plenty of love and energy to go around. I’m a total indoor dog—I mean, who needs the great outdoors when you’ve got all the cozy comforts of home, right? Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m perfectly content to do my business outside and then hurry back indoors for some quality snuggle time. Toys? Oh, I can’t get enough of them! Soft, crinkly, you name it—I’ll play with anything you give me.  I do not need a fenced yar, as long as you always go out with me.. Sure, I enjoy the occasional walk, but I’m not dependent on it for bathroom breaks. I’m more of a in-and-out kind of guy when it comes to outdoor activities. Plus, I’m not the best on a leash and new things can make me a little nervous, so having a safe and secure yard where I can play without worry sounds like a dream. But let me tell you, when it comes to snuggles, I’m the absolute best. I’ll cuddle up with you for hours on end, bringing joy and warmth to your home every single day. I am prone to allergies and ear infections. To keep these in check, I am on the Adored Beast Leaky Gut allergy protocol.  I also eat raw rabbit, which is the best protein source for me.  I love it so much, there are no words!  My allergies have also improved considerably since I started on this yummy food and supplements.  I do also have dry eye, fairly common to my breed and I just need an eye drop in each eye, twice a day.  I don’t mind this at all because I know it will make my eyes more comfortable. So if you’re looking for a loving companion who’s just as happy playing with toys as he is snuggling up on the couch, then look no further—I’m your guy, Archie, ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! I’m a 7-year-old Shih Tzu, and if you’ve ever dreamed of having your own personal Ewok, I might just be the gal for you! At 10 pounds, I’m the perfect size for snuggling up on the couch or being carried around—which is something I love. I’m a laid-back little lady who enjoys exploring the yard (though I do get a little sneaky and might try to crawl under a fence if there’s a gap). When we’re out and about, I’m calm but prefer being held over walking on a leash. I’m not fully potty trained yet, but I’m working on it. I do well on a leash for short potty breaks and exercise, but I sometimes freeze and need a little encouragement. A family with patience will help me continue to improve! At home, I’m an excellent companion—I can be left alone outside of a crate without getting into trouble, and I’m just as comfortable resting in a crate if needed. I have dry eyes and need a little extra TLC with my eye drops and ointment, but I’m very cooperative about it. Soft food is my preference since I only have a few teeth left, but I’m not picky about treats! I get along with cats, kids, and even big dogs. If a playful pup gets too rowdy, I’ll simply walk away to do my own thing—no drama here. I bark only when alarmed, so I’m generally a quiet, respectful housemate.
