Shih Tzu puppies and dogs in Minnesota

Hey Everybody, meet NIxie! She is a 7-1/2 year old mix whose paperwork calls her a Shih Tzu/Bichon mix. Her foster mom calls her adorable. (Kind of looks like an Ewok for you Star Wars fans.) She weighs just over 14#, has been spayed, vet checked, is up to date on shots and has had recent dental work. She is negative for parasites and heartworm. She is on a monthly heartworm preventative that needs to continue as she is a Texas transplant. Nixie does have a well managed health issue (prone to urinary stone formation) and she will always need to eat a prescription dog food - be sure you can afford this. A urinary sample done 4/28/26 showed she does NOT have crystals/stones. She came to us as her previous owner went on hospice. We have no other information on her background. She is friendly, but stand-offish with all dog friends she has met. She would probably play with other dogs as she gets to know them and if they initiate the play. When it comes to people she has no problem becoming a new best friend after a few minutes. She will initially greet anyone through the door with a bark that is a lot bigger than her size. She responds to her name and comes when called but seldom strays very far from her person when loose in the yard. She gets on furniture if it’s not too high or with help. She will go in her crate on her own with only minor bribing. Nixie will play with soft toys by herself or with you. She doesn’t get the idea of fetching with a ball but will bring other toys back to you for more play. She is housebroken, walks well on a leash and rides in a crate in the car without any protest. She knows a few basic commands. Nixie will need to be groomed 5-6 times/yr - an ongoing expense to keep in mind. She has been around respectful, dog savy children, but we don’t know about cats. An unexpected tragedy happened that Spencer life was changed.. His owner passed away. 😔 Spencer had wonderful years with his owner, he is 11 years old! Spencer has so much love to give!💕 Spencer is in foster and his foster loves him already! Who wouldn't!? He loves to be a lap dog, gets along with fosters dogs and cats🥰 He likes to explore the fosters home and loves spending time with his foster. He loves to sleep with her in the bed🥰 Spencer prefers a home where maybe children won't bother him as much. He is an old guy and wants be in a peaceful environment filled with love. 💗 Spencer does have a few medical problems that are being looked at right away and treated. He may have a different appearance (will have a missing eye most likely) depending on what medical advice the vet gives us but he will still be the same! 🥰Spencer is going through a lot with his owner passing, but he is ready for his new forever home! Spencer may not have as much energy to give, but the one thing he does have is love and wonderful memories to share❣️

One of the cutest things about Coco is the way she walks—she has a little bunny-hop style that is guaranteed to make you smile. Coco is happiest simply being near her people. She loves companionship, whether it’s from humans or other dogs, and is content to quietly follow you from room to room throughout the day. As part of her daily routine, coco receives eye drops in the vending and 1/2 tablet of Benadryl twice a day with a little canned food. She’s very cooperative and does well with this. Coco isn’t looking for excitement or adventure—she’s looking for love. She would thrive in a home where she can be included in daily life, receive plenty of affection, and spend her days close to the people she loves most. Harley Quinn is a sweet and affectionate Shih Tzu with Minnesota roots and a personality that brightens every room she enters. A true lap dog, she loves being close to her people and thrives on attention, cuddles, and companionship.
