Story
Meet Teddy! Age: 2 years Weight: 13 lbs If you're looking for a happy little shadow who will happily cover you in kisses, Teddy just might be your perfect match! Teddy is a sweet, easy-going boy with a medium energy level and occasional bursts of playful zoomies. He absolutely loves toys, enjoys playing with other dogs, and is happiest curled up in your lap or giving you endless face kisses. (Seriously... endless! ) Teddy gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and respectful children over 6 years old. He's mostly house-trained and does great when reminded to go outside, although he doesn't yet go to the door to let you know he needs to potty. Teddy is a very special little guy. While he has no medical issues, it's believed he may have experienced oxygen deprivation at birth or another early trauma. Because of this, he sometimes looks to another dog for cues on how to "be a dog." Having a confident canine companion helps him thrive. A few things to know: Loves: Toys, lap snuggles, face licking, and Pill Pockets! Not a fan of: Grooming. Eats: He's a grazer and likes to snack throughout the day. Crate: He hasn't needed to be crated. Teddy's perfect home would be one where someone is home more often than not, has plenty of patience, and already has another friendly dog to help him build confidence and continue learning. If you have room in your heart for this lovable little guy, Teddy will reward you with unwavering loyalty, constant companionship, and enough kisses to last a lifetime. Apply at Chirp.me/LDR Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1.5 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 $75 if Senior of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. ADOPTION FEE's: Puppies under 6 months: $199.00 Adults: $150.00 Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00 If you are interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application: https://form.jotform.com/193425528783165

Story
Chief is a sweet 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix who is a friendly guy with a preference for the quiet life. He may take a little time to warm up in new situations, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate personality truly shines. Chief would do best in a home without small children where he can relax and feel secure. A calm but playful dog sibling could be a great match for him, and with a little patience and time, Chief will reward his family with plenty of love and companionship.

Story
Wicket is a sweet 2-year-old Shih Tzu who is still learning that people and the world around her aren’t so scary. This shy little girl will need a calm, patient adopter who is willing to give her the time and space she needs to build confidence and learn to trust. Wicket would do best in a home without small children and may enjoy having a similarly sized, laid-back dog sibling to help show her the ropes. With patience, understanding, and lots of love, Wicket has the potential to blossom into a wonderful little companion and discover just how good life can be.

Story
Penny is a sweet, friendly 20-week-old pup. She loves to play fetch with you and will sometimes bark to get your attention that she is ready to play. We got her because we love the breed so much after having two others who lived to 17 and 14. While we care deeply for her, I have found that she is just too much for me right now as I am sole caregiver for my husband and I am no longer able to care for her properly.

Story
Introducing Sir Scruffington III, first of his name, ruler of all he surveys, Head Dog in Charge of treats, laps, and all things good! Scruff is a 4-year-old male Cairn Terrier/Shih Tzu cross who is a big dog in a small 13 1/2-pound body! Sir Scruffington came to us all the way from Southern Virginia. Scruff is more than happy to share his huge and glorious personality with any and all loyal subjects in the North as he was in the South. Scruff is definitely more terrier than anything else. In fact, he looks an awful lot like a black and white version of Toto from the Wizard of Oz. He is a sweet boy who would do best in an adult home with active humans. He loves to walk and get his adventure on, and would love being someone`s one and only companion. Yep, you read that right - Scruff likes to be the center of attention. He would do best as your numero uno, number one, spirit animal soul mate. He isn`t big on sharing - in his terrier world, all of the treats, all of the meals, all of the toys, all of the chewies, all of the pets, all of the belly scratches, all of the things in life that are GOOD, belong to him when he is in his castle. The only beings that he wants to share anything with? His people, loyal subjects that they are. We get it! Scruff is a good boy - he rides well in the car (you never have to leave him behind!), walks well on a leash, and loves to play and dance and have a good time. Yes he is full of energy (and sort of full of himself, but don`t tell him I said that), but at the same time, he has a good off switch when it`s time to settle down. We do not know if he is reliably house trained or not, but expect that it will take a minute for him to learn the ropes of a new place, regardless. He`s a smart little man though, and will figure things out quickly, no doubt. His coat is relatively easy to maintain with brushing and maybe some trips to the groomer. He seems to be a low shed fellow and keeping up with his grooming needs should help with that. If you feel like you are a prime candidate to make a scruffy bit of royalty part of your family, look no further than our own Sir Scruffington III!
