You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mandy: The Perfect Dog for a Netflix Marathon   Meet Mandy! This sweet girl is ready to bring joy and companionship to her forever home. Mandy is a loving and easygoing dog who thrives on being with her people. She enjoys relaxing and watching TV (especially barking at the dogs on screen!), and loves a good zoomie session on the deck. While toys aren't her thing right now, she might surprise you with her playful side as she settles in. Mandy is friendly and curious, and while she appreciates her alone time under the bed, she truly blossoms when she's snuggled up near her favorite humans, often choosing to sleep on the bed nearby. Mandy is working on her leash skills and would benefit from a home with a fenced yard where she can explore, but with continued training, she'll be a wonderful walking companion. She's generally curious about other dogs, and while cats are unknown, her easygoing nature suggests she could adapt well. Mandy is house-trained with a consistent schedule and potty pad trained, and has no known medical issues. Could Mandy be the perfect, low-maintenance companion you've been searching for? Mandy's adoption donation is $475 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention as well as flea/tick prevention. Mandy has also had a dental cleaning. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  June 12, 2025, 4:08 pm

Story
When Chewy first arrived, his fur situation was... let’s just say, galactically tangled. Think: “Wookiee lost in a wind tunnel.” But after a little TLC (okay, a lot), he’s rocking a new look that’s more “house elf chic” than intergalactic rebel. He's similar to Dobby right now, but give him (and his fur) time, and he'll be right back to his Wookiee self! Even with all of that, though, Chewbacca’s personality is still full-on fluff mode! He’s got a smile that could melt the Death Star, and he’s already won over the entire shelter staff, not to mention all the guests at our doggy events (he’s basically our four-legged celebrity guest). Chewy is soaking up every bit of his second chance at life, and he’s ready to share his happy tail with a forever family. If you’re looking for a pint-sized star with a big heart, a silly strut, and a face that says “I solemnly swear I’m up to something adorable”-Chewbacca is your guy. Adopt him, and may the paws be with you!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.George: He's Got the Roar, the Ride, and the Right Stuff! George's adoption donation is $350 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning.   Don't let his quirky looks fool you – George is a vibrant and playful companion with a spirit that defies his age! This charming gentleman is ready to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love into your life. Even though George can't hear as well as he use to, he's a quick learner and already knows "sit" for his treats. This well-mannered fellow is house-trained (though transitioning to a new home may require a little patience) and has excellent table manners. No fenced yard? No problem! George is happy to stroll on a leash. While George appreciates the company of men, he would be happy in any loving home. While he is friendly with people and other dogs on walks, he would thrive in a quiet home where he can relax and be the center of attention. George has a unique way of expressing himself with playful "roars” that are sure to melt your heart. He'll let you know when he's ready for breakfast, a potty break, playtime, or even just a cuddle on the bed! This smart pup knows how to ask for what he wants, like a little lift onto the bed to snuggle in for the night. George is a true sweetheart, and while he might play a little hard-to-get with kisses at first, he's learned to give them (especially if there's a treat involved!). He is a great companion to bring along for social outings such as patios, loves golf-cart rides, and is happiest riding shotgun in the car with his head out the window, taking in all the sights and smells. If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and endlessly entertaining friend, George is your guy. Come meet George and discover the love and laughter he's waiting to share!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
Meet Bixby, the pup who packs  50 pounds of personality in a 10 pound bucket!  This pint-size pipsqueek is believed to be a shi-poo (shitzu poodle) about 6 years old and as mentioned about 10lbs.   Don't let his size or age fool you though- this little guy wants to PLAY. In between snuggle breaks, Bixby (gently) tackles his foster siblings...twice his size...and wrestles them until they surrender and join in his fun. And when he tires one out, he moves on to the next!   **For this reason, we are only considering applicants who have another PLAYFUL dog at home to be Bixby's new bestie.** Bixby came into our rescue program underweight, untrained, ungroomed and unneutered, but we've taken care of ALL that. This smart little boy quickly caught on to house manners and has been a rockstar at pottying outside. He doesn't seem to have any inclination to mark, but does need regular potty breaks (small dog, small bladder).    When he's not begging his foster pals to play with him, he adores neighborhood walks, meeting new people, raiding the toy box and occasionally howling... at absolutely nothing. When it's time to wind down for the night (yes, we promise, he really does power down), he curls up in his foster mom's bed and sleeps peacefully through the night. He does NOT like a crate and will let you (and the neighbors) know it.    He has not been tested with cats but based on his lack of interest in wildlife, it seems like he would be harmless. Bixby will require regular professional grooming. If you have a groomer reference, please include it with your application.    Adoption Fee: $300 which INCLUDES spay or neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations, and current flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  Apply today at  https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/ (IMPORTANT!! Your vet MUST HAVE PERMISSION to speak with us. Please do this ASAP after applying. If the vet can't speak with us, we can't process your application)June 15, 2025, 10:23 am

Story
Timothy is ready for his forever home now that his non-working kidney has been removed and his final visit at OSU resulted in his kidney values to be right where his doctors wanted them to be. Timothy should now be able to live a life just as anyone that has donated a kidney.Timothy is a feisty little boy (less than 10 lbs.) with a DOB of 12.7.24. Timothy has no idea that he is little or was ever sick. Timothy loves his toys and drags them out of his toy box faster than his foster mom can pick them up.Timothy goes outside for scheduled potty breaks. He does his business and then 'flies' to his foster mom for a treat. Timothy also has access to pee pads inside that only he and his similar size littermate can access by crawling under a baby gate that is slightly raised. Timothy is still working on inside potty manners, but improves daily. Timothy is treat motivated.Timothy sleeps quietly in his crate by himself in a room with several crated dogs. Timothy has no idea that he is little and loves to romp with the big dogs until his foster parents intervene after a period of time. Timothy's favorite friend, after his sister Sylvia, is a 6 month old active border collie/lab mix. Timothy is the perfect example of TINY but MIGHTY! Timothy is neutered and all up to date on his shots. Timothy would love a home with a fenced yard so he can run and show off his zoomies. He would also love some doggy friends - small or big - as long as they are fairly patient to put up with his spunky self! You can apply to meet Timothy at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee of $350.
