💙 Blue River Rescue – Featured Pup: Minka 💙Meet Minka 💕This tiny 7-year-old sweetheart weighs just 6 lbs, but her story is one of incredible resilience. When Minka was found, she had a painful ruptured right eye that had to be surgically removed, a dental with two 🦷 pulled, severe fur matting that led to an angry whole body skin infection—clear signs she hadn’t been given the care she deserved.Despite everything, Minka is nothing but gentle, loving, and trusting. She loves being outside and exploring the yard, uses a doggy door like a pro, housebroken, crate trained, and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. Now safe with Blue River Rescue, Minka is ready for the life she’s always deserved—a home filled with love, comfort, and security. 🐾👉 Apply to adopt Minka and give this little survivor her happily ever after.🔗 https://form.jotform.com/ 251025957685163💙 Donations are always appreciated to help cover Minka’s surgery and medical care and allows us to give more dogs like her a second chance. 🥰Venmo: @BlueRiverRescueOhioPayPal: @BlueRiverRescue (BlueRiverPetRescue is NOT us!)#AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #SmallDogLove #SeniorDogLove #RescueStory #SecondChance #DogRescue #AdoptMinka #TinyButMighty #ForeverHomeWanted #RescueDogsOfFacebook #DogLovers #SpecialNeedsDog #AdoptASenior

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Willa — a sweet, goofy, fun-loving little girl who is ready for her second chance at a happy forever home. Willa has a cheerful spirit and a playful personality that makes her a joy to be around. She enjoys playing with other dogs, loves a good game of “catch me if you can” or keep-away, and is always happy to soak up cuddles and attention from her people. She has a fun zest for life and brings a lighthearted energy wherever she goes. While friendly, Willa can be a little cautious at first and may need a little time to settle in, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate and playful side shines through beautifully. She does very well with other dogs and truly needs a canine companion in her home, as she enjoys the comfort and interaction of another dog. Willa is house trained, crate trained, and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely play and explore. She has a moderate activity level and is looking for a moderately active home that will embrace her playful nature, give her plenty of cuddles and companionship, and allow her to enjoy life to the fullest. Willa is looking for a family that will cherish her for the sweet, spirited girl she is and give her the loving future she deserves. Willa is being fostered in Central Ohio. Her adoption fee is $450. She is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped, has had a dental cleaning, and is on heartworm and flea prevention. Willa has also had a dental cleaning.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  March 21, 2026, 3:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bijou Bijou is a sweet little soul with a playful, goofy side that will absolutely make you smile. She’s the perfect mix of chill companion and quiet entertainer—happy to lounge nearby, soak up a sunny spot, or enjoy a treat (or two!) with her favorite person close by. Bijou enjoys being near her person and has a gentle, comforting presence. She loves her cozy bed and sunny lounging spots, and while she’s still learning to fully relax into affection, she’s already beginning to show how much she enjoys quiet companionship. As her confidence grows, so will her ability to connect and trust. Like many puppy mill survivors, Bijou is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she forms a deep and loyal bond. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and benefits from calm, respectful companions who help her feel secure. Bijou is making progress with her routine and will continue to thrive with consistency and encouragement. She’s a wonderful candidate for someone who finds joy in watching a dog blossom and gain confidence over time. Bijou does have dry eye, which is fairly common in the breed and easily managed with daily eye drops. While she’s still getting used to her care routine, she does best with a patient, gentle approach and continues to improve with consistency. Bijou would do best in a quieter home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. A securely fenced yard and another calm, friendly dog companion will help her feel safe and supported. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion and the incredibly rewarding experience of helping a dog truly come into her own, Bijou may be your perfect match. Bijou’s adoption donation is $450, and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Bijou has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaning. She’s now ready to begin her next chapter in a loving forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sfMj2cmL84E Mimi is the sweetest little thing. She is about 5 years old and hasn't had the best life so far but that hasn't made her bitter. She was a bit shy with me at first but never fearful or aggressive and now 2 weeks in she gives me kisses and wags her tail when I direct my attention at her. Her previous owner made her live outside and then dumped her at a small rural outside only shelter. She loves cuddling up in blankets. She doesn't have any health issues. She has some tartar on her teeth but that's to be expected at 5 years old. Small dogs live longer than big dogs so she likely still has a decade of love to give. She is good around large and small dogs and around cats. Currently in Oklahoma but can be adopted to approved out-of-state homes via transport. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the cost of the $250 transport and cost of all vetting). Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 Transport available to: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, NY, NJ (all pets are available in all location, regardless of the location of the adoption posting) Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95.
